We took our neighbors here for a birthday dinner. The building is new, modern and filled with hard surfaces, which translates into a very loud place. It does not help that they have crammed in as many tables as possible. It was amusing to watch waitstaff jockey with patrons being seated, or on their way to the restrooms. Perhaps traffic lights? It was good to have visual stimulation since it was almost impossible to hear anyone. It is pricey and the portions are small ($22 for a cheese plate with minuscule pieces of cheese). My husband and I both got the salmon and we enjoyed it. My neighbors both got the linguine and clams - and there was a lot left on the plate AND they did not ask for it to be wrapped. Not their normal MO. I am guessing they did not like it, but since it was our treat, they insisted they did. I think the pepper was too strong flavor a to pair with the five small clams that were included. Our daughter polished off the burger, so I guess she liked it. The service was sloooowwwwww. We were there for over two hours, much of it waiting for our food. They are new, so we shall wait a bit and go back to see if they have found their groove yet. When I went to the bathroom and glanced out into the room with the fireplace, it was a weird sight, It seemed that anyone with young children was seated out there. I can't imagine how they fared with such slow service. Perhaps that explained why so many of the children were up out of their seats and roaming around. read more

We didn't think to make reservations, which is apparently required, but were offered a last-minute seating at the bar. Food, wine, and service were all excellent. read more

Takes 30minutes to get dessert otherwise great food

The atmosphere is really nice, especially the bar and high top tables! The view is lovely and the food, drinks, and service are wonderful. My father and I were walk-ins with no reservation the first two times and were seated at the bar (by preference) within half an hour. I ordered a gluten free margarita pizza and he ordered the scalloped and we both LOVED it! Very speedy service and delicious food! Would highly recommend as long as you have a reservation on Fridays and Saturdays read more

Went here for a family gathering this past June. The food, service and atmosphere was amazing. Highly recommend.

Really nice restaurant- a true dining experience. Been here once before COVID. Nice atmosphere and food was excellent. Not super expensive for the overall experience and is a perfect date night place or for something a little fancier but not overly so. read more

I had been waiting for this to open and I wasn't disappointed! I had the scallops which were OUTSTANDING! And the rotisserie chicken. I know weird choice but it is absolutely worth it, trust me - just try it! My husband had the steak and said it was better than Gibbet Hill and 111! Mind you he is a major steak guy, so give that a try too. The entire place is stunning, the decor is beautiful, the views amazing (especially at sunset). The bar staff was knowledgeable and friendly and I love love love the open kitchen! Give this place a try. Absolutely no regrets! I can't wait to go back! read more

Had dinner for the first time last night for our anniversary. I had the Cherry Wood Smoked Chicken. I was not a fan. The chicken was disappointing as so many of the meals looked fantastic coming out of the kitchen. The combination of flavors did not go well together. The chicken was over cooked and lacking the smoked or any flavor. There were tough pieces in the vegetable mixture and it was not appetizing. Do not order this dish. We also had the Osso Bucco which was delicious. Highly recommend this. The calamari appetizer and desserts were also excellent. The staff was excellent and able to answer all questions. read more

The food was meh but the atmosphere is wonderful and the view almost breathtaking. Given the potential I was very disappointed. There was very little on the menu that appealed to me. I did, surprisingly, enjoy a kale Caesar salad (I think they blanched the kale) but the flatbread pizza was about as tasteless as a piece of cardboard. The waitress disappeared so I was not able to ask for some salt, which might have helped, before the pizza got cold. Oh well. We're comIng out of the pandemic so perhaps they can use that as an excuse. I'll try it again in a couple of years. read more

They sat us at the worst table when it wasn't busy. We went this evening. Party of 5 at 4:30. They sat us outside on a small round table with the beating sun in our faces. My kids(3 teens) got up to play Cornhole right behind our table. To stay cool whilst we waited for our food, I suggested they sit in the vacant rocking chairs near the Cornhole set. They were told they couldn't sit there because it was reserved for people to sit and eat (even though it was still early and it wasn't busy). I understand that Covid is posing challenges that restaurants are trying to manage day by day. To prevent customers from sitting in areas where they shouldn't, they should have "Reserve" signs. The manager who asked them to leave was rude. We're paying customers. There could have been some courtesy in asking them to leave. Covid doesn't need to make everyone so miserable. It's here. We should make the best of it and be kind to each other. read more

I highly recommend making reservations. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar. The view is beautiful. The bartender greeted us and continued waiting on the people beside us. As soon as he finished up he waited on us quickly and happily. This is a really beautiful restaurant. Industrial with a warm and welcoming vibe. We were promptly seated at reservation time. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We had a terrific server in Paul. They have a great wine list however our friend thought it was interesting the way that the wine list was set up. Shishito peppers were amazing. We had delicious oysters and shrimp for starters. Everyone was happy with their meals. We had Bolognese, short ribs, cod and filet. I will happily return. read more

Over priced.....probably to attract the parents from the private schools around the corner. Limited menu. We had a table for 6, but it was actually a table for 8 due to the flies pestering us all during our meal. The waiter was not that good either....oh well. read more

I loved the ambience of the bar area. Our bartender was very attentive, too. We had some whiskey, ribs (appetizer) and black pepper linguine with clams. The ribs were really tasty, fell right off the bone, juicy and all, and their bread with olives were good, too. I thought the pasta would be like vongole, but the sauce was a bit thick for my liking. I liked the peppery kick though, and it came with fresh, juicy clams. read more

This was my first and most likely last time visiting this restaurant. I had heard very good reviews, unfortunately not my experience. No dinner specials on a Saturday night, small overpriced menu. Poor service, appetizers took almost an hour then waited for meals for at least another 30+ minutes. Reservation was at 5:30, we were there at least 3 hours because of how long it took for food. Dinner portions are tiny, I ordered the salmon & it was a small narrow piece on tip of small amount of quinoa. Good flavor, but for $40, it should have been a better sized piece of fish. Beautiful setting and views, but poor service, long wait for food, small portions, and overpriced. Just for context, we were a party of 7 and it was not busy in the restaurant until much later in the evening, when we were leaving. Food was coming out left and right, just not for us. Server needs to be more attentive. Do better Forge & Vine. read more

Came here with the family and everything was great. We had chowda, salmon, lobster roll, steak and corn bread and it was all amazing. Great ambiance and a beautiful view of Groton. I will definitely be back! read more

I'm a local. We desperately need more quality restaurants in the area. I was thrilled to hear this was opening and am glad I finally had a chance to visit. - This is a large loud restaurant behind the newly constructed Groton Inn. This is a new building too - it's meant to look like a giant barn from the outside, but it looks even larger inside. It's cavernous, with the extremely tall ceiling and few walls. Kitchen is open, bar is an open oblong shape, few walls. It can get pretty loud. - We went here for dinner and it was pretty good. The fare is standard American New England food. Clam chowder, pasta Bolognese, pork chop, steak, some fish. Sides include different vegetables, potatoes, etc. - We got some wine and calamari to start. Red wine pours are a good size. The calamari was laughably small. We all looked at each other wondering how so few calamari could be on a plate yet included as a starter! It was a few rings, a few large claws, and lots of the banana peppers, etc. What few rings we got, they were ok - chewy. This dish needs to be improved; more calamari - more rings specifically, and cooked longer to improve bite. - Dinner itself was all right. We all got different dishes and they were good. I had the Bolognese which was excellent. The noodles were thick and straw-like which was very hearty. Everyone else enjoyed their salmon, chicken, etc. It all looked very nice. We ordered some sides - all excellent as well. I had the mixed greens which was very tasty. The cauliflower dish is excellent, except we had to send it back because it was cold. They actually brought the same one back to us, only to then show up with a second hot dish of it - they had accidentally brought the original cold one back. - Service was good - everyone is new so you do have to forgive them the small issues. Not worth going into here really. We'll give them time to get on their feet. - Overall I liked it; the dinners were great which was key. Little snafu with a cold side. Calamari dish needs to be reworked. But overall we did all enjoy our dinners and will be back. read more

A spectacularly OFF night in this well appointed restaurant with lovely views. Three alert ladies greeted us at reception, seemed overkill rather than friendly. Went to wait for friends at the bar and had an usually long wait for a drink... At the table, suspiciously long wait for the food after getting our $50 (good value French white wine) which came warm/room temp. Asked for ice and to put the bottle in a cooler. Food finally arrived. COLD duck breast on warm faro, and a mushroom and fennel vegan spahetti dish without mushrooms or much flavor for that matter. They need a chef in the kitchen who is looking after his food and how it goes out. We mentioned the problems to our very nice waitress and the manager came over to apologize and offer us free desserts, very nice too. Two of us ordered: a store-bought chocolate cake and a dish of lemon sorbet (3 scoops) that was melting due to the ONCE AGAIN long wait. It was Friday night I understand. Customers seemed happy (so were we with the friendliness of the waitress, the lovely room etc). I'll give it another try and put it down to a VERY off night. read more

Food is very good! Service was good as well! But when I arrived and stood in the foyer for minutes and no hostesses came around to help me, that was not cool! There was one hostess behind the screen on the phone but never looked up or attempted to acknowledge my presence. The other wowan behind the cash register passed by and said she will be with me but stayed there until I walked over and asked can I look for my party. If I was not meeting up with friends I would have left. read more

The staff here is so, so warm and welcoming. I also love the food here! I ordered the spice cake for dessert and that was absolutely delicious and sticks out to me when I think of this place. Also for dinner I ordered an endive and frisée salad with duck leg on top and a citrus vinaigrette which was very tasty. I've had the poutine from here before multiple times and that is SO good. I highly recommend that appetizer. The ambiance and atmosphere is perfect for a date night or just a nice dinner out with friends or family. You can see right into the kitchen from the dining room which I really love. I think it's a really cool thing to do in a restaurant. read more

Just wrapped a pleasant evening at this new spot in Groton MA. We are staying at the Inn on the property. We appreciated that they were able to seat us without a reservation. We sat at the chef's table so we were able to view the kitchen magic first hand. We first enjoyed the ribs and citrus arugula salad. Both were delicious. The ribs with the Vermont maple glazed paired well w the pickle and slaw. The citrus salad was complete and very flavorful. For our main course.. the salmon and short rib. Both were very good! The short rib had a subtle ginger undertone that complemented the dish well. The salmon was cooked perfectly and went well with the roasted parsnips. Lastly- we took a piece of cheesecake to go. What knocked the last star off this review was the service. Our server wasn't very menu savvy, neglected drink refills and was just inconsistent . Eventually a manager type brought us some olives and bread.. There appeared to be lots of management types lurking but yet the service still lacked. The two couples next to us felt the same way as we did. Just wasnt quite getting the attention. I believe this location opened very recently and I'm sure they will get any service issues under control. Go check them out! read more

The building, setting and atmosphere are all beautiful. Even the bathrooms are really beautiful and clean. This place has an upscale casual vibe. There are always a couple of vegan options on the menu for my husband and myself. The 3 times we have been there we have had great service. Love the bar too. Great place, make a reservation! read more

This was our first time to Forge and Vine. It was on Halloween and our Anniversary. We were seated very quickly and our waitress was friendly. We were disappointed that there was not Caesar salad on the menu as this is always our favorite to share. The waitress recommended the Waldorf salad. It was definitely a shareable portion but nothing exciting or unusual. We both ordered the Steak Frites medium rare. Mine was mostly rare and not particularly hot. The steak came with no veggie but instead a corn salsa (?) a bit weird and, as the waitress agreed, an overabundance of very ordinary fries . We were seated in the back room which was quieter than the big room which was packed. Sadly we were also by the exit door which was being used by the staff so we got a draft every time they went back and forth. Not impressed enough to go back . read more

Let's talk positive. The food is consistently very good. It is served hot and fresh in my last five times. That is the end of the positive. Now for the reasons you will not want to go back. The staff is always very pleasant, but very poorly trained. Service is consistently very poor. Drinks being refreshed, dishes left setting on the table and you end up holding them for the server that is bringing your entree. And if you looking for a Christmas dinner party. There is no Christmas spirit in the entire place. No decorations, holiday spirit ! A huge disappointment. I give them two stars and ONE Bah Hum Bug read more

I brought my wife here on Valentines weekend. I highly recommend reservations the place is packed. The Resturant is nice, high ceilings and an opened kitchen. The food was incredible, I had the Korean Ribs and they tasted like candy they were so good! Food looks great as it is and the deserts taste as good as they look! Our waiter "Spencer" was on top of his game! One of the best waiters I've ever had! Thank you Spencer! Great parking available, good wine list and top shelf full bar. Seriously a dining destination! It's kind of loud inside so not a great place for a first date. Maybe a second! read more

This past Mother's Day I was looking for a special venue to take my wife for brunch and was not disappointed at Forge and Vine. We are coffee lovers and to start a meal with such a rich, flavorful and low acid coffee we knew we were off to a great start. (Although we did not order alcoholic beverages, many other diners did partake of typical brunch mixed beverages and their overheard comments were all positive) The Mother's Day menu was enticing so we ordered everything from the pastry basket up to the Eggs Benedict and more. The ham and bacon were smokey and full of crunchy flavor, while the topping over the Eggs Benedict was perfect. As were the mildly flavored home fries. By that I mean the spuds were NOT overwhelmed with diced onions or garlic powder. Midway through our meal we nibbled on the delicate Belgian waffle with sugar and orange soaked strawberries, which were touched by a few tablespoons of perfect handwhipped cream. Service was second to none as all team members frequently checked in with us. Lastly and most important, anyone with a food allergy should always check in with the General Manager, as I do. At this establishment, my GM was Mr. Noseworthy, and I witnessed him address my allergy with the line chef, thus ensuring the safety of my dining experience. Consistency in quality and service is the hallmark of a brand, here's hoping the Migishotel Group, owners of the establishment can maintain both. read more

The food was good and atmosphere was nice but waiting 30 mins past my reservation without any apology or a comped drink/food was irritating. I had to ask to check up on our reservation after 20 mins. I've been to Forge & Vine many times. The service is usually good, the atmosphere nice, though the noise level is pretty high. But the most recent dinner there was a big disappointment. My companion had a Sweet Garlic and Chili shaved Ribeye, DON'T order this dish, the sauce is like a cheap high sodium soy sauce, inedible. We complained about it & sent it back half eaten. I challenged the chef to take a bite and then deny he got the sauce wrong today. No response. The guy at the table next door also left the same dish, half eaten. Also there was less than 2 oz of ribeye sprinkled in this $34 dish. We both agreed we wouldn't go back. There is a better restaurant down the street, hint GH. read more

My wife and I went here for dinner last night and couldn't have been happier with the experience. We split a few small dishes (blistered shishito peppers, calamari (must try), and broccoli cheddar bisque). We also split the braised short rib and lemon cake, both very tasty. Super friendly staff, and our waitress Lorien did a fantastic job (very knowledgeable about the menu items, awesome cocktail and food recommendations, and very attentive). We will be going back very soon! read more

First time there was wonderful! A party of 4 and all was great. One month later a party of 4 and nothing was good. Each trying different meals and food was way below par. Seasonal vegetables not cooked soo tough, no option to eat them. Duck fat potatoes utterly flavorless. Service horrendous, waiting 15 minutes for server, then another 15 for drinks. This was at a time where there were more empty tables than occupied. When waitress showed up she was unfriendly, standoffish and set a mood for our dinner that we did not appreciate. Flies were swarming table and unappetizing to have to eat and swat off. Prices to high for what they are dishing out and service provided. Will not be returning. read more

We've eaten here a total of 3 times. First time was when it first opened. Great service. Don't recommend the pub tables if you want to have any sort of private conversation. The fig flatbread was good but heavy on the fig and super sweet. No one was arm wrestling for a 2nd slice and leftovers were tossed a few days later. Second time was with larger group. Great service and wonderful meals. We were tucked away to the side of the bar - almost a separate little room and it was very nice and easy to converse. Third time was in the "larger" dining room. Friendly server but it was slow getting drinks. Like REALLY slow. Food was good but not memorable. Tables are tight. Navigating your way to the restrooms is difficult to do without skimming people's tables. I think fewer tables would be great. Recently bought a gift card. Was disappointed as unlike GHG, no envelopes (girl said they were all out), no accompanying paper menu. Nothing. Just a card. Made for a bit of an awkward gift, and for the amount of the card I just wanted more somehow. The two hostesses were complaining about a customer who had apparently called for a reservation, while a 3rd went over and got my gift card I presume from the bar area?. Little tacky to complain about another customer in front of a customer. I like F&V but don't love it. I think GHG still outshines them in all areas. read more

If margaritas are your game, Charlie Brown is his name...it really is. He was wonderful and kindly didn't make fun of me after I asked for anything but "yellow tequila". For reference, I'm a mom who hasn't been out much lately, and forgot how to communicate. The margarita was absolutely perfect and my husband even ordered one after a taste of mine. He had a great personality all around. One thing, Charlie sir, you could have informed me about the kale in my teeth :) So, sip on a perfect fresh lime margarita with Charlie Brown as your bartender. read more
