Not that i'm some massive forever 21 fan but...man they just CAN not be bothered at this store. Store was dead. Nobody in there. Selection was so small, I understand why. I've worked in retail- i know it's underpaid super hard work, so I give them a lot of credit but...you would think I was an annoying high school student the way this woman rolled her eyes when I simply asked her if she could search the store computer for an item I had the item code on from my original receipt. She could NOT be bothered. Huffed out loud as she typed out the item code and not even two seconds later "We don't have it"- not even a "but they have it at these locations"? Never had THAT response before? Then I asked her where the bathroom was and she just said "it's upstairs" I said "where?" She said "in the corner" I said "in what direction?" She mumbled something super snarky sounding under her breath and basically all I heard was "I work down here, I don't know"- and she went back to looking down at her screen. Yeah. Don't come here? I know retail is rough but like...the bathroom? I had to walk over to the Starbucks and ask an employee there where it was since the long haired brunette (with highlights?) at this store could not be bothered. Wish I had gotten her name. You never know what people are going through but it goes both ways. I hope if someone elderly or with a health problem came asking where the bathroom was, you wouldn't make them feel annoying for it. read more

Damn I never had to review a Forever21 before.... Because to be honest I know what to expect; cheap prices and non-existent customer service... but that's OK, that's the trade off - not a 1-star experience until tonight. One of the amazing staff, Bonafide BadA** 'Bo' had to show what a seasoned pro he was by 'scolding' me for trying to take a shirt off a mannequin because no one would help me find said shirt, and I looked everywhere twice (time consuming pain in the butt). Apparently you cannot purchase the items on a Mannequin - Who knew? - this happens a lot at stores, and it's really never a problem - I mean 'customer service' - right? Anyways, 'Bo' basically slapped my hand back from pulling the shirt up, and very rudely (with a snobbish tone that I'm sure everyone he hangs with has to deal with) tells me "you can't buy that off the Mannequin" then persists, "I was going to tell you that about the jacket you took off too"... then proceeds to race to the register to tell the guy holding our pile of clothes that he has to take the jacket out of the stack!... What a win 'Bo' - You just couldn't my come up and explain the policy politely and professionally, you had to be a Prima Donna - I'm imaging you're always that way with everyone. Needless to say the probably $300-500 (I know, at Forever21 !! - there was a lot of stuff being bought tonight) all had to go back, because as much as my daughter wanted the stuff, there was no way I was going to reward Forever21 for having such a BadA** like 'Bo' to take care of customers. Darn shame - I had told the first 'nice guy' checking us out that I was going to apply (and certainly get) the Forever21 credit card for the reward points... now I don't have to worry about being tempted to shop there more if I was stuck with their card. Y'know that stereotype that Forever 21 stores are messy and the sales associates aren't all that welcoming? Well, this store unfortunately lives up to that stereotype. If you're looking through a rack, you're liable to see a handful of clothes from who-knows-where. Sizes are all out of order. There's random accessories on the floor. Displays are not neatly folded. So why isn't anyone tidying things up? Well, there's always 2-3 associates at the register, but they're not actually ringing anyone up. This store must be the only one in Southern California where there is never more than one person in line. Seriously, I have never had to wait to check out. Many of the associates are there, though, which means that no one is maintaining the floor. Clothes are cheap, but not that cheap. Fast fashion doesn't last long, in general, so expect your clothes to shrink or tear after a few months. This store does offer good finds for reasonable prices -- $10-$20 for shirts or pants. If you have the patience to sift through the mess, that is. It's a lot more convenient to shop online, until you have to go in-person to return something. Some associates will authorize a return right away, but others will give you the hardest time of your life until you settle for store credit. I guess they REALLY have a hard time meeting their sales goals here. This store is part of the reason why retail is dying. Shop online, y'all. read more

Jenny needs some serious help.. or therapy! So rude and nasty everytime i come in even when i try to be kind. I worked in retail for years and understand having a bad day, but this girl has a bad day everyDAY. and definitely doesnt make enough to be acting this way. even on my worst day, i try to be kind to those who are kind to me but i dont believe she has a nice bone in her body. I highly recommend Forever 21 if you're looking for on trend clothing. Forever 21 has affordable clothing and has staff that definitely know where all the clothes is and can always help you. Forever 21 also changes their clothes around each week or so, which can allow you to try all sorts of different clothes on and never have to wait to long for more clothing. Had the worst experience in the thousand oaks store #34. When I bought a Halloween Costume 2 weeks ago the cashier told me I had 30 days for a full refund. Only 2 weeks later, when I tried to return this unopened costume, the only male manager told me I could not return it because Halloween costumes are final sale. When I explained my conversation from 2 weeks prior, he said I was a liar. He then proceeded to text the cashier who was on my receipt to confirm that she told me at that time that all Halloween sale was final. He with a smug look on his face showed me the text on his phone saying "never" I told him that doesn't mean anything because I don't know who he was texting. He then said i was raising my voice and again with a smug look on his face. When I said what happened to the costumer is always right, he said that's not true. So when I said "oh the costumer is not always right" he then argued back that I was putting words in his mouth. But it was too late because I heard what he said. My receipt had no indication that this was a final sale or what I bought was a Halloween costume. He looked at my receipt and said that if i tried to return it a week earlier, he may have been able to do something for me which makes absolutely no sense since I had a full month to return for my money back. When I asked for his name he said he will not give it to me because of confidentiality. At the time I bought this costume there was absolutely no signs or any indication in the store that Halloween costumes were final sale. I wouldn't have bought it for $64. I have never been treated in such a disrespectful and unprofessional manner in any store. I felt like a criminal and that I was doing something wrong because his manner was acting like he was catching me in misconduct. Other costumers were listening to us which made me feel uncomfortable because at this point he was putting on a show. For my intention was to quickly return the item and leave the store happy that I actually returned it on time. Instead I left shaking, very upset, humiliated, and angry. After I had filed a complaint to HQ, called my credit card to stop the payment, and will be sending a letter to the HQ written by husband who is a lawyer. I know what you are thinking, wtf are you doing reviewing a Forever 21, aren't there a billion of those, what useful, funny, and cool insight could you possibly provide? A LOT it turns out, because this is the CLEANEST Forever 21 I have ever been to, and if you've even SEEN the inside of a Forever 21 from afar you will understand what that means. There weren't ANY clothes on the floor, ANY put in places they didn't belong, and that weird sex sweat fever women-in-sales-heat smell was completely missing! It was amazing! Granted, I didn't buy anything. Granted, the service was still pretty...young and...slow. But you're spending $5.00 on a shirt, you can't complain that they hire people you would only see in a high school graduation. My daughter insisted we come back here because of the affordable prices. Yet it was still a disappointment! The store is always horrendous! No customer at all. So, I used to work at the old forever 21 in the oaks mall a few years ago and I've gone in the new and old locations several times since I quit that job, and literally not one employee greets me, asks if I am finding everything okay, or asks if I'd like a shopping bag. When I used to work there, I was amazing at customer service, I was super friendly and acted like I loved my job and whenever I go in there now, it's the complete opposite... such awful customer service. Extremely disappointing. Oh and I waited in the dressing room line for like 5 minutes a few weeks ago, no one came to help me so I just grabbed a number and helped myself to a dressing room. I went in today and I was provided great customer service I was greeted by I guess a Manager(long hair ) she was very outgoing happy and telling me and my mom about all the deals ! Latter I started walking by clearance a little messy but another associate (short hair black wearing a hat ) was very great able too ! I was surprise to be greeted I went to the collections back in December and spent $150 was there like 1 hr with my mom and 2 kids and no greetings my hands were full with items and no single associate even offer a mesh bag ! You can't make returns here if you buy online, even though the policy says you can. Every time I go here to return something, the computers aren't working. I've gone different days, different times of day. The computers work to ring up a sale but never to return/exchange an item. All they can ever offer is store credit. I suspect corporate disables the return option/function or tampers with it somehow. Several employees try to get it to work, with the manager spending 15 minutes trying override the refusal. It's not a coincidence. I am never shopping or ordering online from Forever 21 again. read more

Also I'm REALLY confused as to why Forever 21 installs multiple registers but only uses one...this isn't only at this 21 store...it's all over (e.g. Chicago). Its kinda frustrating. There is one HUGE problem with Forever 21... When you purchase something and ask for a Gift Receipt / usually this means that the receipt does not show a value on it so you can give this to someone without them knowing how much you paid for the gift. BUT what you DONT know is that the Gift Receipt does not reflect the price you purchased it for. If your friend or family member wants to exchange that gift or return it within the 21 days of purchase and that item has now gone on sale, they do not honor the purchase price. EVEN WITH A GIFT RECEIPT which was meant to be the same as a receipt for customers. It's deceiving and seems illegal. For this reason i DO NOT BUY GIFTS FROM THIS STORE. People need to know the intention behind this stores philosophy in this. Spread the word. I witnessed it 1st hand for a gift I purchased for my niece when I was there when she went to exchange it. read more

I shopped at the Forever 21 in Thousand Oaks. When I got home, I realized the necklace/ earring set I bought, was not in the bag. I called into the location and spoke with Alita. She was very rude, said if it's not in the bag then it's it her problem. I asked for her to look and she responded she'd check camera footage but didn't ask for what I was looking for, receipt number or time I was there. She didn't ask for my number. I had to ask if I can give her my info. I never rec'd a call back so I called in (again) asking for a manger and I was refused to speak to one. Alita told the girl on the phone she'd call me back. Terrible customer service. I've worked in retail so I try my best to be as nice to retail workers as possible. When I went into the fitting room I told the worker how many items I had and she looked at me annoyed and just pointed me to a stall. When I was done I brought the clothes out neatly and hung because I know fitting rooms get messy. I gave them to the worker and she just looked at me and said ok. I just called this location to see if an item I saw online they have in store and I was more than didsappointed with the horrible customer service I received. The girl who answered asked me for the item number, which having worked in retail myself for years I am familiar with the "SKU" number. I told the girl I didn't find it on the website and asked for help finding it... she couldn't even help me navigate her own businesses website! She said "oh I guess you can just come in" I asked if I could text a picture because I've done this many times over the years for unhappy customers so that I never leave them with a "oh can't help sorry, good luck". I love this store and the clothes but I have come to find the employees extremely rude on multiple different occasions. They were supposed to discount a top for me for 15% and forgot to. I went back to get the 15% that they were originally supposed to take off and the guy was not only disrespectful but had a condescending tone. He said to us "I have people come in all the time telling me things like these, my boss would've told me something like this" and we continued to tell him "he didn't tell you because he was supposed to take the 15% of but didn't" He then proceeded to say "I will not do this again next time" he made the whole situation extremely awkward and went about it rude manner. Terrible in-store customer service. I bought a jacket in-store for $69.90 plus tax. After leaving the store and looking at the jacket online (no more than 5 minutes later), I saw that the jacket was actually listed as $48.99. The sale was listed as both "In store and online." Confused, I returned to the store immediately and asked about why I was charged a higher price.The cashier was less than helpful, asking me to tell him what sale they were currently having since he himself did not know. I showed him their sale on my phone. He said that items cannot be returned, except for store credit. I was not looking for store credit to purchase a different item, I simply wanted to be refunded for the extra amount I was incorrectly charged. I asked if he was the store manager and he said that yes, he was. However, after showing him the sale price listed online on my phone, he seemed confused and took the item, as well as my phone, back to talk to the "store manager." He later returned, admitted the error, but still claimed that nothing could be done as it was against store return policy. He said the only option was to return the item for store credit on a giftcard that I could use to buy the item online, not realizing that the size I purchased was sold out online anyway. I was very upset to have been overcharged, but was more upset simply in the lack of understanding and respect in the customer service. They did not seem to care about the error or try to understand my concern. The worker seemed very defensive, as if I was trying to "trick" him into getting money back, when I was really just curious and concerned about the discrepancy between the price that was clearly listed and the amount that I was charged. I guess I learned my lesson. I will try to avoid shopping here from now on and will warn others to do the same. read more
