I was taking my friends daughter on a shopping spree, I had a bag full of shoes and other hand full of Spencer's items I was going to buy , walking around the store, my bag of shoes ripped and fell out everywhere , I asked Spencer's employees for a bag since there was to many shoes to carry, so I could continue shopping, they said sorry no bag until you buy somthing. I said I'm going to be buying all these items I'm literally holding in my arms. He said oh.... Then he told me to leave a kind review and I said why would I do that ... so here's my review. Not sure why the ratings are so low! The manager Brandon is absolutely amazing and he is extreme professional and helpful. I had a really bad experience at the Northridge fashion center location and was not going to continue shopping at Spencer's because of it. Thankfully I went to the Ventura Mall location and he was there. He was so concerned on how I was treated at the other location and made me feel very welcome in his store. He did everything he could to help me get the information needed to help alert corporate about their customer service skills. I greatly appreciate his understanding and made me feel comfortable enough to want to come back to this location. They always have the best selection and I have bought numerous shirts and items from them before. I definitely recommend making the trip from the Valley to the Ventura location to avoid any mistreatment from the Northridge location. Keep up the great work Ventura team. read more

Went in to get a couple of shirts from the 'Buy 4 Get 1 Shirt Free' deal & ended up walking out with NOTHING. Apparently, they aren't able to rering your items should you give them the wrong phone number. The girl asked if I had points already towards shirts & I said yes. I figured she was going to cancel out the sale, but she still she couldn't do that. So I said, "Okay, then I just won't purchase anything." I walked out & ended up buying shirts at Hot Topic instead. the worst customer service ive ever experienced by the "night manager". she was rude, immature, confrontational, and blatantly arrogant and disrespectful. i wanted to leave a written note for the day time supervisor (in hopes that they were any more professional yet expecting another young ignorant employee thanks to "adrianna". i wasnt in the store 2 minutes before she came and hovered in and around my personal space bitching and groaning every time i picked up an item and put it back. muttering under her breath and over exaggerating placing the item back in its original spot. "adrianna" has a reality check target aimed right at her self righteousness. this part time shift in a position of power has gone to her head, management definitely put their money on the wrong horse. i am not petty nor am i quick to anger, however "ariana" took me there by hooting and hollering to leave her store embarrassing me, and still refusing to let me leave a written complaint. she called security to make me leave which was the cherry on top. they knew they couldnt do anything so i left on my own accord settling on this yelp review and contacting corporate or showing up daily until i can file a written complaint of the audacity and discrimination i was subjected to, by a good for nothing kid that doesnt know shit. read more

Today I got in to the store and no one worker was waiting at the entrance so I went in and minutes later a worker told me that I needed to wait outside and when I was waiting outside she made me to go in the back of the line even though I was there before them so I shouted her in her face that I was leaving the store. Very surprised to find Spencers sells fully adult products now like dildos and vibrators. They also have the standard stuff you know and love, joke t-shirts, raunchy gag gifts, cups in the shape of boobies, etc. Staff was very friendly when I visited, checking to see if they could help me, but not in a suspicious way. It's also the greatest store to get party favors for Bachelorette Parties because they're just super fun and playful! I thought the pierced nation cards were buy 6 get the 7th one free...? Went in this morning to get a septum piercing and upon presenting the card to the cashier she said I needed to purchase a second piercing in order to get that one free. I was in a rush to get to work so I didn't have time to question it, but I've had an altercation with her in store before too because of an unpleasant attitude. Please clarify for me if I'm wrong about the Pierced Nation cards. Edit: the staff definitely isn't what it used to be which is unfortunate.
