I got A waitlist alert to go up to the counter. When I went inside another lady was there with bunch of clothes on counter. 3 people helping one girl. Talking to her , admiring every clothes they took out of the bag , making comments like how cute , how does this look on me , every single outfit took a good 5 to 6 mins of processing. Bc it was like where did you get this , how cute , how would this look on me. Do you get it ? I just had one item to show. Come on. I waisted over 45 mins. There is no need for 3 people to help one person when they see someone else waiting. Also take out the clothes , quote it and move on. I swear it was so annoying. read more

I LOVE the clothes here! That's not the issue. The issue is one particular cashier who is always rude whenever I go in. She makes me not want to buy anything. I had a very bad experience with Kevin, the security guard. Apparently he also works at a bar, so I was told by Alyssa that he might've confused the bar work environment with his work here at this retail clothing store. Apparently he gets to make the final call on whether a dog is a service dog, doesn't matter what anyone else says or thinks so. I'm guessing he's the owner of this store. My dog accidentally came in for a quick second when I left her outside. She said hi to a few people and then I walked her out and he decided he needed to make a scene and kicked me out even though I was already walking out. I've been going to Buffalo exchanges for multiple decades from Minneapolis to Tucson, Costa Mesa, Bay Area, back to Phx to Fullerton to Pacific Beach, and never had any problems whatsoever until I came to the store interacted with Kevin. I was so absolutely upset by this interaction that I even called in and talked to one of the assistant managers to pass on my experience to upper management. Great place to check out, both buying and selling is mostly hit and miss though. Just the nature of the store and for selling, it depends on who is buying and how much they actually know about what they are looking at. They actually have been super honest and I've sold a lot of things there but I feel I get a better value sometimes just buying rather than selling. Also, half off stamps are my favvvvvvvvv!!! Admittedly it can be nice to get store credit and use it towards your purchases, just hard when you know what you paid versus what the value you get for it is. Best part of the store is that you just never know what you'll find, that's what make it the most fun! read more

Well.....I won't be doing that again. I'd rather give my things to somebody who really needs them than to get bent over the barrel by these people. I'd love to see their margins. Pretty sure anybody that walks through the door to sell......NEEDS money, especially in today's world. There is nothing that disgusts me more than greedy cooperations. Today I was given $21. Looking back on it, I should have told them to kiss my ass...the three brand new belts retailed over $50 a piece. The value of goods I brought in that they accepted was easily over $200. Again.....I got $21. DONT TAKE YOUR THINGS HERE. You're much better off using Craigslist or eBay or even a yard sale. Taking advantage of people in need is F'd up. Shame on you. I've been bringing clothes and vintage bags to Buffalo Exchange for over a year now, rotating between the Pasadena, Sherman Oaks, and Ventura locations. At first, I thought it was a good way to rehome curated pieces, but over time it's become clear that this company does not value loyal contributors. Pasadena: Today I was told by a worker that I've been "marked as a reseller." This is insulting and inaccurate -- I am not a reseller. I carefully curate vintage bags to bring in, the same way anyone might bring in clothes they've collected. Being flagged like this without explanation or transparency felt unfair and unprofessional. The workers here are generally unhelpful, dismissive, and act like they're doing you a favor by even looking at your items. Ventura: The experience here has been even worse. When I raised concerns about how I was being treated, the manager flat out told me, "If you're not happy, you can buy and sell somewhere else." That's not only rude, it's the opposite of customer service. Sherman Oaks: Slightly better in attitude, but still inconsistent. Staff here also act as if they're too busy to deal with customers properly. At this point, it's clear Buffalo Exchange doesn't care about building relationships with the people who actually bring in the items that stock their stores. Instead, they treat loyal, returning contributors with suspicion and disrespect. The 3 stars this place has is completely warranted, if you want a place that values your time, effort, and the quality of the pieces you bring in, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. read more

Calling all the free-spirited, color-seeking, "I don't care what you think" fashionistas! I swear when I come here I feel like I'm at a clothing/shoe museum. So many unique, funky, "who would wear this" vibes. I mean that in a good way! I stroll Main once a week and this place is a constant "must stop in". Their selection is well organized, ever-changing and there are things wall to wall to see. They even have chairs in the front in case you bring a boring person who can't handle such a cool vintage experience. I've nabbed some great finds here over the years. What I particularly appreciate is how I'm usually the oldest person there, yet, the staff manages to pump me up by saying stuff like "damn girl, this is cute! Good find!" Support local! Buffalo Exchange is a gem! Oh, and if you're going to be a cry baby about them not taking your stuff, life is going to be hard for you. Maybe do a good deed and donate it to Goodwill instead? I always make sure to stop by here when I'm in the area. There's always something cute and the quality is always great. From what I saw clothes/dresses are generally $20-30, glasses ~$10s, didn't check shoes much. There's also a sale section in the back. It feels like a boutique rather than a used clothing store from how curated everything is. It's definitely a nice place to check for statement pieces. Absolutely love this gem of a thrift store. So many good finds even for this 60 year old gal! The selection is large to most thrift shops I have visited in SoCal. My sister and I found mens flannels with store tags on them at a very good price. I found a very cute 90's Valentine's day cardigan and 2 bomber jackets. (+) Occasionally some interesting pieces, and I assume a somewhat regular rotation / influx of inventory as there always a lot of people in the store. I don't visit all that often but when I do it's interesting to see what's on the racks but also what others are wearing & new trends/styles (then also remember how old I am now lol) (+) In true exchange per the name, they pay for select clothes and shoes you bring in and want to sell. They aren't Goodwill and take everything, and you may not get the best return in value, but it's better than just sitting in your closet never to be worn again (+) Benches and chairs by the entrance for those who are waiting for the s/o or friend still shopping. (-) Pretty popular so can get kind of crowded, and not unusual to have to wait a little for an available dressing room or wait a bit in line to pay read more

went as a seller, not a buyer. other reviews stating that they dont buy much are correct, however for good reasoning, and i experienced nothing sideways when selling my clothes. Everyone was super nice and helpful and transparent when denying items. I think they deserve 5 stars because even though they bought maybe 15% of what i brought in, the service was amazing and they arent a clothes purchasing shop. they are a resale shop. and that comes with rules (ie stains, damage, trends, season) read more

I have a lot of nice clothes since I work in retail and I like to experiment with my fashion a lot so just to clear out some space I took my things to buffalo exchange and it was humbling. I had things from urban, brandy, anthropologie, lululemon and revice denim and they turned things away from all those categories. They also weren't old, stained things either I just change my mind on my own style quickly and buy new things quite often. The workers were nice but it was a bit uncomfortable having them discuss with each other and turning those things down in front of me. I shopped around and saw things that I personally wouldnt have let in, but maybe it depends on who is analyzing. its probably nice to shop there just not as nice to sell. depop is better. Especially when you are someone into fashion and know the quality of your clothes that are still being turned down. read more

I love going to Buffalo exchange first time I ever went to Buffalo exchange was here in Ventura went the one in Vegas but this one here in Ventura actually got a pretty good selection found a pair of Air Force ones in my size and heck of a good shape You know how much they cost about 110 bucks a pair I got these bad boys for $75 wife loves going there also because she always find stuff name brand stuff at lower prices I mean it's like a high end Goodwill but hey you have fun shopping there and they always got vintage stuff in there and they always got some high-end stuff in there and real low prices so every time we come to Ventura downtown we always go there and check out what they got we've never been disappointed about going and picking up stuff read more

Meh. Not much selection here you wouldn't see at goodwill for a bit cheaper. A lot of brands from Ross/Marshall's at about the same price you'd get them new. Saw a couple Zara items I already own that I paid that price for new from Zara, so just be sure to shop around if you're looking for deals, you could probably still find something here. The girl up front first forgot to charge my friend for a bag so twice they went through his selections, once at checkout for the clothes and then again when we checked out for the bag and neither time did she remove the plastic security tag, so now we have to go out of our way to go get the tag removed since we don't have a location nearby. read more

Went in there for the first time. They had a lot of cool clothing. They must be picky on what they buy. Because most of the close are in pretty good condition. I don't know about the other Buffalo exchanges. But this one on Main Street is a gem. It has a lot of good stuff some old-fashioned stuff which is hard to find. read more

hello, Today was an awful experience. I spent over $70.00 in merchandise and was told if I want a bag for my purchases it would cost $2.50 for a store bag with their name on the bag. This is the only bag available. My friend and I left carrying our clothes without a bag from this unbelievable cheap store.. We resent having to pay for a bag. They need to change their policy. During the covid lockdown I did a massive closet clean out. I normally go to Buffalo Exchange when I am looking to resell my clothes. In late June, they reopened their doors for reselling and in-store shopping. When they first reopened, their procedures were done differently then usual. If you wanted to resell, you had to make an appointment and leave your items with them for 24hrs. After they picked out what they wanted to buy, they would donate the remaining items, then send your payment through paypal or venmo. At that time, they accepted appointment drop offs from their backdoor and in-store shopping from their front entrance. I came back to Buffalo Exchange today to do another round of reselling. I called the day before to set up my appointment and they told me they are now doing in-store reselling by appointment. I got to their store 5mins before my appointment and saw a line of people waiting to get in. I stood in line and called the store. I was unsure how long this line would take. I wanted to see if I could bypass the line and go in for my appointment. I called the store and got no answer. Luckily, there were groups of people coming out so my wait time wasn't too bad. When I got in, their staff greeted me and started looking through my bags of clothes. As my items were getting looking through, I decided to look around. I ended up buying a few things and they bought a cluster of items from me. I asked about their return policy and they informed me I had 7 days to make a return for store credit. I like coming to this Buffalo Exchange. They have a friendly staff with great customer service. They always have fully stocked racks of clothing, shoes, and accessories. In addition to this, they added a new Black Lives Matter "Tokens for Bags" donation bin. Anytime you choose to carry your items out you can donate 5cents to a charity. Also, this store is set up with good covid precautions. They have hand sanitizer on the counters, masks are required inside, there is tape on the floor for customers to stand, and they limited the amount of people inside. In certain areas they put baskets for clothing and shoes to be placed in if the item was tried on by a customer. All fitting rooms are still closed, but they are allowing customers to try on while in store. read more
