Yelp has Throwback Junction as Closed! It is not! As of June, 28, 2025 when I stopped by (2 days ago) it was still opened! My husband is into media, so we popped inside Throwback to check out their merchandise. The place is big, goes back, nicely decorated, clean, well stocked. It surely has character! Customer service was just OK, not the most welcoming, chatty guy, but decent. Unfortunately, their prices are high here, if you're looking for a deal, this place won't offer that. Their media was very pricey, pretty dirty (despite the store being clean, some of their media could have been dusted), with their shocking stickers on, alongside thrift store ones, with a way lower price. So they might flip things? Anyway, it might be too hipster-ish, too bad that trend is spreading to downtown Ventura as well! read more

We may have poked in here previously, but it hadn't made a huge impression on me. On New Year's Day we did a deeper dive and this time it stuck in my mind more. I'll be adding this to a venue-to-visit list when on lower Main Street near the Mission. While this is a thrift store with gently pre-owned goods, it's really more like a vintage boutique. The way it's laid out and merchandised goes very well with the rustic vibe of old brick walls in a historic building space. Many thrift stores can be on the junky side. Throwback Junction is not that at all. I scored a set of handmade woven Christmas tree placemats with matching apron. They were on half price sale. I also found a chunky acrylic bracelet for a great deal. Yep, I'll be stopping in again! read more

This store was excellent. We popped into for a little wandering around and it was more than nice. The items they carried were excellent. A bit of vintage, a bit of western and a while lot treasures. There were tons of cowboy hats and cowboy boots. The whole vibe was a pretty cool hipster swag. Jewelry, bags, accessories all were neat. Great selection of gifts. read more

I love this store. It is well-curated and has a relaxed vibe. All of the displays are gorgeous and the staff seem to care about the customer experience. Thrift shopping with the feel of a boutique retail shop. I found two really cool dresses and they were priced well. My fella bought some vinyl albums and a super cool dress shirt. And socks! AHHHH. This place is AMAZING. love the selection and I love the (local?) artisan goods they sell too. Love supporting small businesses, they sell soaps and stickers and cards as well as thrifted things. The selection is truly awesome and radical and the entire vibe of the store is amazing. TIP! bring your own bag. The median price for each item I bought was around ~ $13/$14. Little pricier than goodwill but A LOT MORE WORRH IT. Bought an American Apparel dress that was originally $60 for $13. The dress selection is fire. UGH!!! MY NEW GO TO CLOTHING PLACE. read more

Now that I've been coming here more and getting a feel for what they sell, I've been having better luck with selling some of my items here. I have also come across a few vintage handbags that I have accumulated with my trade, that I received selling. However, they are a little more picker then say your buffalo or crossroads but that's because they have sort of a "theme" at this place. They buy in and sell fashion from the 70s, 80s or 90s with a mixture of other eras in between. They also have great prices here, so coming to shop for second hand is priced in anyone's budget. read more

I have been here a few times and always find a lot of treasures! It's a funky, hip store with eclectic and current styles as well as vintage. Prices are great, it's like taking all the work out of the thrifting and putting the cool stuff in front of you. Store has a cool vibe! They buy items outright for store credit or cash, check buying hours and styles requested in advance of coming in. There's a reward program which is always a bonus for me! The vibe and decor of this place is really cool! My first time at this store I had a great experience. The woman working was super helpful and sweet. Her customer service and their items were the reason I wanted to come back. After my purchase she mentioned to me that they buy/trade clothes. During my second visit I was excited to see their new merch. I brought five items to trade/sell during this visit. A different woman was working this night and she explained to me that she'd go through my stuff to see what I had. Unfortunately what I had wasn't what they were looking for which I completely understood as they were looking for "spring" styles (even though the aesthetics of the my clothes fit their store/style and spring) What was upsetting was her response which was that they didn't like to carry F21 like other thrift stores as they were trying to be different. Yet ironically as I looked through their new arrivals rack there was a F21 pair of jeans, and the more I looked around the other racks there was F21 merchandise throughout their stores. As mentioned before my first experience here was great and would recommend finding cute finds here but I would definitely not recommend trying to sell/trade clothes. read more

First off, I normally don't review businesses on Yelp, but this one deserves a special shout out. My friend took me to this store that recently opened. Throwback Junction buys, sells, and trades new and recycled fashion - pretty cool! My wife and I were both able to easily find things we liked and bought them at a great price. I noticed a lot of name brands in the shop that were actually affordable and half the price of what I'm use to spending. I also loved the ambiance and vintage feel throughout the spacious store. Pictures are attached so you can see the vibe of the store. The owner (Randy) was very friendly as well and I enjoyed hearing him chat about his passion and future plans for Throwback Junction. I will definitely be back when I'm in San Fernando next. I rate it 5 stars based on affordability, ambiance, and friendliness of the owner/staff. read more

Loved the decor and the selection of curated clothes! Not your average thrift store with random clothes. Everything here was thought of for a hip or vintage vibe. A great place to look for Coachella outfits. That being said it is a bit pricey but ultimately your clothing and accessories are worth the money. :) The location is a great mix of traditional vs new business. Traditional as in if you need a quinceañera dress you can find it on this street but also you can find some bomb hipster shit. Throwback Junction is the hipster side. Instead of simply helping resolve the issue professionally, I was met with attitude, condescending remarks, and an overall hostile demeanor that made the experience far more difficult than it needed to be. As a customer, I expect basic courtesy and professionalism -- especially from a company that prides itself on customer service and brand values. The exchange itself was straightforward, yet Maddie handled it in a way that felt confrontational and unwelcoming from beginning to end. It honestly left a terrible impression of the store and the company overall. After being a customer for nearly 30 years and a brand ambassador for this company, I truly never expected to be treated this way. If this is the type of people Patagonia chooses to employ to represent their brand, I do not believe I will be moving forward with purchasing their products in the future. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience absolutely warranted one.

GETTING HERE:…read more Downtown Ventura! DTVTA! The address is correct on Yelp so that shouldn't be an issue for you, 235 West Santa Clara in Ventura. I went on a Saturday morning and parked across the way, in the medical office lot on Olive and Santa Clara. REVIEW: A solid 3.5 shopping experience but rounding up to 4 due to the great customer service and ease of the return I had to make. I was going on a trip to the PNW and needed (I thought) a sling/crossbody/backpack/day bag of sorts. I looked and looked and figured I should try Patagonia, because Ventura. Right? Prices are steep, but unfortunately, that is (sadly) to be expected in 2026. There were quite a lot of salespeople on the floor. They were talking to each other, but whatev. I found an employee to speak to when I had my choices narrowed down. I bought a sling bag that I was sure would do the trick, but sadly, I had buyers remorse and knew I needed something bigger before my trip. Great service. Great ease of return. Definitely will be back! Thanks Patagonia!

Just checked out this new store today after a friend of mine told me it was awesome. And I was impressed with the perfect layout of the store! All the walls were decorated very nicely and the racks were organized thoughtfully. I really liked the punk/rock and roll vibe that ran throughout the store. The store owners greeted us and told us a little bit about the store. It's very cool to have a semi local vintage shop around. And the owners seemed really interested in hearing our opinion, definitely something that's missing from a lot of the trendier vintage/lightly used clothes shops around. The only downside I would point out is that I feel they should be a little pickier about what they choose to buy. Some of the items they have were pretty worn in, which is not always a bad thing but it can make the prices seem a little expensive! But even though I didn't get anything on this trip, I definitely saw some items I would recommend to someone else. Hopefully this store succeeds. Definitely coming back soon! read more

Island Outfitters is a beachy themed adult/seniors store, I would say, that carries mostly brand name clothing made with high quality materials and very high pricing. They do have a section I enjoy browsing at the front that include seashell style gifts and home decor. During the holidays they have beautiful, unique ornaments as well, but again way out of my price range. There is a funny little fur ball dog that greets you each time you walk in. It's very friendly and well trained, just wants to say hi! They also usually have packets of California poppy seeds at the front in an orange paper wrapped back for you to take, no charge. I love the concept of keeping California traditions alive like that. The staff here are welcoming and very focused on their jobs. They may not make a huge effort for customer service but if you go up and ask questions they're glad to help. Parking can be found on Linden Ave, side streets, or the lot behind Crushcakes. I will continue to come back to see what new ideas that have brought into the store, but quite honestly unless there is a massive 70% off bargain sale I don't see myself seriously shopping/purchasing here.

This is one of those rare shops where women at any stage of life can find high quality pieces that feel comfortable, effortless, and truly wearable for everyday life. Most items fall in the $30-$75 range, which makes supporting local feel accessible and realistic. I have made a commitment over the past few years to support local businesses instead of big corporations, and I am genuinely grateful we have a shop like this in Ventura, especially as so many retail spaces are disappearing. The vibe is cozy, cottagecore meets laid back beach town energy, perfectly fitting for downtown Ventura. Warm, inviting, and thoughtfully curated without trying too hard. The kind of place where everything works together, which is honestly a little dangerous. Ashley and Melanie are absolute gems. Friendly, helpful, and genuinely invested in helping you find something that feels like you. Never pushy, never salesy. You can tell they care about the shop and the experience, and it shows. They also carry a small mini-me collection, Sin Min products that smell amazing and feel great, plus jewelry, accessories, and small home decor and stationery pieces that make perfect gifts. The horchata lip balm alone is worth stopping in for. Whether you're shopping in person on Main Street or online, Tiki Girl is a solid go-to when you want something cute, comfortable, and very Ventura. Always support local. Your closet will thank you.

I've been to many markets and collaboratives like this one and truly I love them. I love being able to have variety and finding a bunch of cool creative finds in one spot. However, I wasn't wowed today by the selection and more so the prices seemed pretty steep for downtown Ventura. The positives are that this shop is open and inviting. I really appreciated the outdoor sign as it made this spot easy to find from the Main Street. I appreciated that the merchandise wasn't crowded and the store was easy to navigate. Also the gal working behind the register was so sweet! I had no issues with service here and vibes were friendly. What it really came down to for me was my own personal styles/tastes and the prices being relatively high. Having been to many markets such as this one I just didn't find the assortment to be tailored to my likes as much. Some of the items here didn't seem fresh and look like items I've seen many times over at other collectives. Long story to say nothing screamed out to me as "super cool" or "I need to have it" Also the prices just seemed high on some of the items. A $25 hair clip? If I wanted to pay those prices I'd go to Anthropologie. At an artist collective in a spot like Ventura I wasn't expecting LA prices. I totally understand the prices are likely determined by the artists but when prices are generally high it steers people away. Unless you have deep pockets, it's not super affordable for me. I want to support local and am willing to pay but the quality and uniqueness has to be there. I knew I wasn't alone when I watched a guy and gal next to me look at a clothing price tag and immediately kept moving. Yes, this is a great place to browse. I appreciated the friendly service. But I wanted to shop so maybe the current inventory just isn't for me. I stand behind the effort of what this spot is and I'd definitely check this spot out in a few months to see what the inventories like then and to see if there are more affordable items.
