    Cool design

Industry Horror is a new fun store in downtown Ventura. I checked it our recently and the girl working there told me the store opened in May this year, so it's a new addition to the area. Industry Horror is a small, cozy store that sells clothing and accessories (hats, sunglasses, bags, etc) for guys and gals, all with a horror oriented design. What's nice about this store is that they employ people with special needs, helping them develop skills, learn, be creative and productive though fashion. So, that's a wonderful idea. The store has a cool design inside, a nice fitting room, great customer service and funky merchandise, perfect for a cool gift. I know this merchandise it's nor for everyone, but some people will love it. I got my husband a cool t-shirt in here. Prices are reasonable, I love that another cool, one of a kind store popped up in downtown Ventura. That's why I come back to this area for shopping! So, next time you're in the area, pop inside Industry Horror, it's fun, different, cheeky kinda of a store.

This is one of those rare shops where women at any stage of life can find high quality pieces that feel comfortable, effortless, and truly wearable for everyday life. Most items fall in the $30-$75 range, which makes supporting local feel accessible and realistic. I have made a commitment over the past few years to support local businesses instead of big corporations, and I am genuinely grateful we have a shop like this in Ventura, especially as so many retail spaces are disappearing. The vibe is cozy, cottagecore meets laid back beach town energy, perfectly fitting for downtown Ventura. Warm, inviting, and thoughtfully curated without trying too hard. The kind of place where everything works together, which is honestly a little dangerous. Ashley and Melanie are absolute gems. Friendly, helpful, and genuinely invested in helping you find something that feels like you. Never pushy, never salesy. You can tell they care about the shop and the experience, and it shows. They also carry a small mini-me collection, Sin Min products that smell amazing and feel great, plus jewelry, accessories, and small home decor and stationery pieces that make perfect gifts. The horchata lip balm alone is worth stopping in for. Whether you're shopping in person on Main Street or online, Tiki Girl is a solid go-to when you want something cute, comfortable, and very Ventura. Always support local. Your closet will thank you.

Not usually my kind of style but super cute nonetheless. I have found some fun country styled tees and today I found the most perfect embroidery cocktail tee that I had to snag it. The store is spacious and clothing is nicely laid out. I appreciate that they have multiple fitting rooms and comfortable ones at that. Easy to navigate this store and they do a good job of rotating different trends and styles. The day we came in they also had a good variety of a sizes that I could appreciate. Pricing was fair. As they claim they have different wears between $20-$70. I found that to be true. My shirt was $55 but again nice detailing and unique. Staff was friendly but also not overdone. I appreciate that they give you a hello and then kind of leave you to look the store on your own. However when we did have questions the gal was helpful. Good vibes. Definitely a cute store and it's nice to have a clothing store downtown that tailors to different styles and sizes. While I haven't bought a lot here over the years, when I do find something it's quality and cute, all you could ask for.

One of the gals mentioned they knew the owner of the place that we should check out the store and see if the owner was in town. While waiting for the owner we took a look around and found some cute, fun and funny things! They had a Christmas tree decorated with camping themed merchandise which of course caught our attention. They had a little bit of everything for almost everyone and any age. Well, maybe not for infants at least i don't recall seeing anything for infants. The found the prices on some of the merchandise to be reasonable. Some of the clothing were on the pricey side. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although I didn't purchase the really cute, and funny kitchen towels, I did purchase a couple of stickers (I enjoy stickers!). This business will find me here again if ever in the area.

They've always done a good job of creating small vignettes to show off different themes. This being Ventura, they definitely carry a lot of beach-themed items. One area that caught my eye this time was a section with camping / get outdoors / celebrating the National Parks merchandise. Some very cute and unique stuff to be had in that section. I found something for my aunt to make as a gift. She's making a goal to get around to all of the National Parks, and is steadily chipping away at it. What I got will help memorialize that in a whimsical way. The ladies who work the store are friendly and helpful, which makes the shopping experience even more delightful. Take your sense of humor in when you visit - you never know what you'll find to make you smile and even laugh out loud.

I'm so glad I did! The shop is small, and honestly, I was half-expecting to be ignored or treated poorly since I wasn't with my wife at the time. But I couldn't have been more wrong. The lady helping me was super friendly, made a few great recommendations, and I ended up leaving with two high-quality shirts at a reasonable price. Next time I'm at Fluid State, I'll definitely stop by again to grab another shirt, and maybe a dress for my wife too. I'm so glad these mom-and-pop shops are still around!

I'd never actually stopped in Ventura before and much to my delight, we ran into ALOHA ON MAIN just a few steps away. What a great store, perfect for any of us tiki crazed peeps. I honestly thought to myself this had to have been a joke or something, what, with not getting in to Ventiki and then steps away, there's a killer tiki store. I haven't won the lotto yet, but look at this dumb luck right here! The friendly gentleman running the store was nice, well informed and very patient with my Autistic son. He also mentioned that my "Book of Tiki" that I've had for 24 years has become quite the collector's item. Who knew?? Prices seemed to be very fair to this reborn tiki collector and I picked up these two awesome decanters and the Poached Poet mug, all from Tiki Farm. I'd had my eyes on the Elvira and Poet for some time. The Sven Kirsten decanter was just too cool to pass up and was priced fair. Lots of great art, mugs and clothes. Check 'em out: https://www.instagram.com/aloha_on_main/ Ventiki, by the way, looked like an awesome spot too. I took a quick look around and liked the small, cozy bar, ambiance and outdoor "lanai" with plentiful seating. I recommend a stop at both on your next California road trip!
