But the person I needed a gift for is a person who I think will also appreciate a gift of tea of the nature sold at Magic Hour. Their shop has a calm vibe and the atmosphere is relaxed. There were so many teas to choose from, it might have been nice if a shop person had asked if I needed any help. But I really appreciated that they had sniffer tins and I used those, along with the descriptions, to help me find something for my friend. The products all have really attractive packaging, and I did like that they had some tarot cards and oracle decks. I would have liked some additional products too (like crystals), but otherwise this is a really cool shop.

I placed two orders on the same day. One arrived three days later, the other didn't even ship out…read more I reached out to customer service and I was told that they would check with their 'fulfillment team' for 'proper resolution', then no resolution. Like, they never bothered to get back to me to tell me what happened with my second order so I had to call my bank to dispute the charges. I had to send them two emails to cancel my order. Which they did. No apology. No trying to make it right. No explanation for the lingering order that never got shipped. Just 'ok, it's been cancelled.' I love their tea, but there are other tea companies where I actually receive the product that I place an order for. With SUCH EXPENSIVE tea, you would think they would be sure to get your order out on time. I'm going back to Harney and Sons (amazing tea). Far less expensive, and I have never ever had issues with ordering, and Harney has such top tier service, the OWNER of the company emailed me once to respond to a rave review I left them, just because they are THAT on the ball. The reason for my order was for a gift for a dear friend. So, they could have ended up with a new customer. I ended up getting them something else, something handmade, so hopefully that artist will get a new customer in the future. Never again, Magic Hour. You lost me as a customer, and now the friend I was going to send this gift to will never know you exist, so you lost two customers today. The fact that you never tried to solve the problem says a lot about your company.

We arrived towards the end of the market as they were starting to pack up and put things away…read more Still there were plenty of vendors still there offering their goods but slowly shifting and packing up. It's located in a parking lot behind the main strip and in a residential area. All street parking but it tends to be pretty easy. There's a bakery vendors that I've had a few times but they do sell out quite fast. Their fresh baked bread and sweets are one not to be missed. This visit, they weren't there in their usual section so I assume they were pretty much sold out fast. Loads of fresh organic vendors with all their goods. As it was summer, there were so many vendors with amazing tomatoes. Heirlooms, grape tomatoes and so all. Everything all looked so fresh and I'm sure it was straight from the farm that morning. Also loads of other vendors selling their homemade goods, like soap to candles to everything in between. Majority of the vendors are fresh produce so you know you'll be picking up fresh farm products. Also fresh flowers are always a must when a visiting the farmers market. Can't forget the fresh berries and fruits. Doesn't scream summer without all the fresh berries straight of the plant. Regardless what you're looking for or not, I'm sure you'll always leave with plenty of fresh things at this market. Their items are always so fresh. A must whenever I'm Ojai. It's always on a Sunday morning.

Prices are a bit more than Oxnard prices but I do think it's great to support local especially seeing the quality difference between local vendors and grocery stores. $13 for eggs still seems a bit steep for recovering from the egg hiked prices where they are now back to $6-7 in grocery stores. There was a vendor that sells sourdough breads and she was quite popular has she always had a line. Caroline's preservative jams are amazing in flavor and quality. I also appreciated that Centri Coffee was there so that I could buy some whole beans.
