Why is every fitting room on their second floor closed and used for storage?? Oh but you don't know that they are all closed until you go looking for the fitting room...following one blue neon lit "fitting rooms"...one after the next...only to find they are ALL closed with no posting to apologize for the inconvenience and direct us downstairs for open fitting rooms. The prices at the stores are pretty good and some of the selection are stylish and affordable that it makes me want to shop more there. One of a YouTuber that I know had an event there and it made my experience at that forever 21 even better. The staff working the event was very respectful, patient and you can see how hard they try to get everyone in line to see her. Lining up and waiting to go take may pictures taken was not a dull moment because the staff was very enthusiastic about the event. During the event, my Polaroid wasn't working so the employee allowed me step to the side to see what was wrong with it. I really appreciate how they gave me a chance to get my Polaroid working instead of dismissing me. I am giving this review a 5 star because of how they handled the situation, how they treated the attendees in line and during the meet and greet and I really recommend attending an event there read more

Terrible customer service. I was there to pick up an online order. I stood in line at the express lane for about 20 minutes before I was even addressed. When I complained about the wait time, the sales assistant was very rude and responded in an unprofessional way, implying she was unable to help me because she was busy helping other customers. Instead of apologizing for the long wait time and disorganized check out lines, she was incredibly rude. She left and grabbed my package and shoved it to me saying "have a good day" sarcastically. Really impressed with how quickly and efficiently the employees were with my phone request for an item to be put on hold. I saw an item online, rang them up and gave the product number. They had a long line so a female employee said she would call me back and update me with the status. They had it in stock and she kept it in the front for me. Nice ! I arrive, try it on and bam it's a one stop shop. I would definitely come to this location based on this quick service. I called Arcadia forever 21 and their phone line kept ringing and no one picked up. My sis saw a mannequin wearing a denim jacket and she asked a male employee folding clothes in the women's section where it was located. I needed some costumey accessories for the 1920's/30's Mobsters and Molls party. I had no idea that the Forever 21 Death Star had opened at the Town Center. That's no moon.... Upon walking in, I was taken aback. It was like a trendy paradise had been planted right smack in the middle of town. I figured that with such a wide selection (I mean, c'mon, it's huge! After all, it used to be a Mervyn's) it should be no problem to find a little beret and fake pearls. Unfortunately, I felt like I was in the movie Labyrinth, with David Bowie and his muppets laughing at me from a far. But instead of muppets, I was being misdirected by the hordes of hipster gay boys who are a snotty as they are unattractive. Me: "Hey, I need to find a black beret." Hipster #1: *exasperated breath* "Yeah, um. We, like, don't have hats in the accessories department, so you'll have to, like, look around." Me: "Any ideas if you even have them." Hipster #1: "Um, I think so. Check upstairs." I go upstairs Me: "Hey, I'm looking for a black beret. Do you guys have any up here." Hipster #2: "Um, yeah, I don't think so. We have some downstairs." Me: "I was just there and they sent me up here." Hipster #2: "Sorry!" So I decide to go back downstairs and do a walk through for hats which are, inexplicably, not available in the accessories department. (??) I found something rather cute that was not what I wanted, but turned out better...However, finding something that should have taken me 15 minutes took one hour. That sucks ass. Also, I think I saw no less that 15 employees and NONE of them in the hour I was in the store asked me if I needed anything. I'll admit, I like that there is a disposable clothing superstore near me where I can update my wardrobe with cheap trendy pieces, so I can't say I hate this place. I freaking love this FOREVER 21!~ Seriously, most people who write reviews on Yelp are ridiculous. I say this because people usually complain about the workers. All of the workers there are DIFFERENT so keep that in mind. I have ran into workers who don't want to help and aren't friendly but I put myself in there shoes and I would probably be too because.. . this F21 is freaking huge, knowing where anything is in this store is just insane! Besides, most kids that work part time only care about passing the time and getting paid for the hours, as if they actually wanted to study their store and "help". CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS !!! I picked up a few clothing items to try on, and the dressing rooms were packed. I visited the top floor where there are two dressing rooms. One on the far south side and one on the north side. The south side was unbelievably long and unreasonable to wait. So I proceed to the far north corner, once I walk in I did not notice any signs that indicate the fitting room was for "men only". One of their customer representative rudely say, "Excuse me mam, this is for men only." It was so rude, the way that male handled the customer. ***Annnnnd my 200th review goes out to this fantastic Forever 21! I was a little bit skeptical upon entering this Forever 21 with my boyfriend's sister earlier this week, being that the exterior of the building looked really old. But when we went inside, we were pleasantly surprised by the GORGEOUS layout of the store! I have never seen a prettier (or bigger) Forever 21. Two stories, with a ton of merchandise neatly displayed and mannequins with cute outfits put together. The shoe department was SO nice - plenty of styles to choose from and, once again, I have to say, it was beautifully displayed - I even took a picture of it. We easily spent about an hour in the store, looking around and trying on things we liked. I only ended up liking a pair of simple black heels and I was shocked to find out that they were actually on sale, $7 off! Such a steal. The employees were pretty friendly. My cashier had some difficulty removing the security tag on my heels, but she persistently apologized for the wait and always had a smile on her face. She made me feel at ease, even when I was a little worried that the security tag would never come off. When the tag finally came off, she thanked me numerous times for waiting and just handled the situation very well, which I appreciated. This is pretty much the only store in the Shops at Montebello that is worth your time. If I'm in this area again, I will more than likely make the stop here at Forever 21 again. read more

This used to be the Mervyn's before the company folded, and it stayed vacant for the longest time.. and ta da! Transformed into the one of the bigger Forever 21. Aesthetically, it's still pretty ugly because they barely remodeled and just slapped on the forever 21 - not as pretty as the other ones out there. However, what makes me a fan is the selection of products. I normally find what I'm looking for. I'm not the one who goes online to see what's there and then go to the store. I've learned my mistake - the inventory on forever21.com is totally different from the physical store Maybe that's how they encourage you to shop at both areas. AH. I understand you guys now! :P If they have their clearance sale - the 2nd floor looks like the clearance got sick and threw up everywhere. Not that it's messy, it's just everywhere and you get overwhelmed. Just make some time and start from one corner to the other. I actually knew when it was still Mervyns and was under new management for F21. i had no idea this was going to be the largest one until asked someone who worked there who said this is so far the only one that is termed a "department store F21' So it is like a Macy's but it is actually F21. It is really the biggest and most extensive line they have right now. If you go to Chino Hills Shoppes or Pasadena by DeLacey, you will be more impressed with this one. All sizes available, all looks etc. Jewelry, shoe, bag lines are crazy cool!! And very well organized on bottom floor. Upper floor more dressy looks and men's line (like heritage 1981, also women selections here) take up about 1/4 to 1/2 section upstairs. Many male employees here for that reason too. Bottom floor have newer lines like love 21 (contemporary line), twelve by twelve, faith 21 (plus sizes). The cons: Need more fitting rooms!!! There are several that always has the "closed" sign. UGH!! With the amount of clothing and customers, they need to open more rooms. In each section of rooms, there are not too many stalls either. I guess they need the space to display more clothing and know that we will all wait in line to try on fashion. Weekends are terrible since the lines are long. The lighting sucks. THe good thing is that they have added spot lights so it looks somewhat like a F21 we are used to. But the fluorescent lights, eew. And the carpet floor. You really feel like you are in Mervyn's if you were here before this became F21. I heard that once the lease is over in the smaller F21 in the mall, they plan to close that one and focus on remodeling this current "departmental F21" to boost it's image. The staff. Very rude, arrogant, unfriendly. Especially the ones in the fitting area on bottom floor. They rather talk to each other than help customers. Many complains i heard about them. Maybe they will have a staff meeting soon. The cashier/pay lines are so long, esp downstairs. Ridiculous being that there are so many registers. Sometimes i feel like i am paying at walmart since the wait can be long. Elevator area. Everyone, take the escalators and leave the elevators for those with strollers. As I read the previous reviews, I can see that people have a love/hate relationship with this Forever 21. I wont give it 5 whole stars but I wont give it one star... if i could, I would say about 4.5 stars. This Forever 21 is HUGE, its 2 floors because it took Mervin's place... PLUS the original Forever 21 is open as well, which may be convinient for some shoppers who dont want to walk a few steps to the middle of the mall. Just walking around the store can get you tired! They have a huge Sale section and a tiny "Extended Sizes" section. They also have a guy section... which, I'm still debating whether I like it or not. Customer service has been pretty good the times I've gone, theres always someone with cool hair asking if I'm ok with my findings. This review is solely because of the events that happened today, I like the clothes though...too bad I COULDNT BUY ANY TODAY!!! Arrived at the store, through the second floor door. Loved a couple items for my daughter but I was also looking for myself since she always wants to be "twinsies" ((shes 6 and like most little girls wants to have something like mommy)); it's rare that I find something for me and for her and since today was my only day off I had decided treat ourselves. While there, with my son ((1 year)) in a stroller, we picked items. After about 30 min of shopping I realized "oh crap, where's the elevator?". All the signs were red signs of clearance and sales. We walked around the store and could not find it...just "exit" and "fitting room". As we continued to walk, I began second guessing items and placed them back then finally coming to the conclusion that after another 40 min of going in circles and having a heavy bag from the Disney store that I could not go downstairs to purchase the items since there was no cashier on the floor and NO ONE AROUND TO HELP. We walked back a few times to the front register because we noticed a group of people there and asked for help, but they said they weren't part of F21...:As I was about to give up, I walked around and back to the front hoping to see someone or a elevator when I come across a well dressed man with a small badge. I asked a quick questioned but he continued walking as he had an earphone on one ear and was looking through his phone, glancing only once as he passed. My daughter, being only 6, pretty much had more sense then me at the time; she says "mommy, there is no one here and we keep going in circles. No one is helping. This is not worth the trouble and we can't take baby down the escalator. We could fall".....upset and disappointed, because I knew she wanted the items we walked to the front of the empty register and left the remainder of them items there. This shopping center is a little far for me. I drove because it was a new mall. But how do you forget to put in an item that I bought in the bag. Lizette the cashier have no sense in double checking if everything was in the bag and I even made sure to ask her if my items was in the bag and she assured me that it was. As I am taking my clothes out I realized she did not put my 2nd item in the bag. What type of customer service is she if she can't even do one simple task. She is the one bagging the item and not me. The reason I'm giving this store a full score is because I was in line for less then five minutes. The minute the cashier stops ringing a person up, another cashier quickly calls you to the register. Argent was the person who help ring my daughter and I up. He is an exceptional worker and was professional and thorough with us. Seriously, I LOVE Forever 21, but this store has GOT TO GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER. It seems like I'm not the only person on here bitching about the horrible customer service at this location. Maybe I was just having a HORRIBLE day and the cashiers wanted to show me that IT COULD INDEED GET WORSE ! I almost never shop at the Montebello stores because it's a bit further than the Santa Anita location, but I had lunch at the Costco down the street, so I decided to drop by and pick up some clothes for work! They were having some pretty wicked sales (today was the last day to get an extra 50% off clearance) so I totally swooped while I had the chance ! I found a BUNCH of stuff the in clearance section that I ABSOLUTELY loved, so I took everything to the counter to get checked out. I'm not really sure how the lines here work, but it was a COMPLETE mess. There were a million different lines going on, and i had NO IDEA which one I was even supposed to get in for what. I later realize that each individual cashier created their own line because they felt more special about their jobs that way. (I'm just kidding, I don't know if that's really why. That's just what it seemed like to me.) When I got to the counter, she cashier hardly even looked at me ! She literally just starting scanning everything, without even a peep. I wanted to do price checks on a couple of items, so the only words that came out of her mouth were occasional numbers. I guess I hadn't realized that a regular priced item had been thrown into the mix, and the girl didn't even tell me ! I had literally just stood there babbling to her about how great the deals were, and how I would never buy most of this stuff for over $15 (cos let's face it, F21 is a super cute store, but the quality of their stuff ISN'T all that great, you know?) The LEAST she could have done was inform me that I had a regular priced item of $37.80 in my bag ! SHE DIDN'T SAY A WORD. When I asked for that to be removed, she said it was against store policies, took my card and had her cashier friend ring me up a gift card with $40 worth of store credit on it. WTFWTFWTFWTF ?!?!?!! I DON'T WANT STORE CREDIT FOR SOMETHING I HAD NO INTENSIONS OF PURCHASING IN THE FIRST PLACE. No matter what I told the second cashier, he still insisted on handing me a god damn card filled with bullshit store credit that I did not want. AND he had THE WORST attitude about him as he talked to me too ! He was YOUNGER than me, but talked down to me as if he were the store manager and I was some petty, irate client that didn't deserve his time of day. Seriously, YOU HAVE A JOB BECAUSE I SHOP HERE. All the cute little Cambodian children are to thank for the creation of new and hip fashions. I am truly truly thankful for their skilled little hands. This store is overload times. Half way through this place and you will find me curled up in fetal position foaming at the mouth. Yes you do have to come here with the stamina and the mana, or your life will decrease. I think I saw a skeleton with cobwebs in one of the corners of the store still clutching a floral print dress. Staff looks like they smelled a bad fart. They are not there to be addressed, just leave them alone. Poor things are cleaning and keeping shit tidy to make this place tolerable. Holy crap. This place is so mind-blowing, Forever 21 - as a company - really can be compared to the empire of Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana, it is insane. Apparently the owners of F21 decided they're going to replace all the dying department stores with giant, department store-sized F21's. As if the locations in Old Town and the Americana weren't big enough? I mean, I already get headaches shopping in those 2-story "boutique" shops. But hell, A DEPARTMENT STORE? This is getting way out of control. I came here on the Grand Opening day on April 4th at 9:00 am, to wait inline to receive a free gift card. However, I didn't make it early enough since I only got a measly 10% off coupon (on purchases $40+) instead. Everyone rushed in like there was some big sale - when there really wasn't - and they even had a D.J. playing in the middle of the store, while there was DIFFERENT music playing in the department store speakers. LOL, okay, give us even bigger headaches. Oh and how could I forget the professional photographer they hired to photograph the store and customers? Tacky! Now, you may be thinking, "Awesome, an even bigger F21!!!!!1111" No, it was not awesome. It was nerve-wrecking, brain-splitting, and seriously ridiculous. I saw clothes that I hadn't even seen in other F21's OR the store online. Since this place used to be a Mervyn's, the interior "decor" is still pretty ghetto looking, so don't expect it to look all "fancy" like the locations in Old Town or the Americana. It looks exactly like a department store (think JC Penney decor), but filled with cheap F21 merchandise. I think it's about time we boycott and protest Forever 21 to end this craziness! read more

Forever 21: I tell you, I'm 21 right now and I'm not quite sure I want to stay this way 'forever.' But you're here to read about the store, not my insecurites and personal problems so let's move on. =] My review is strictly for the men's section of the store, appropriately branded "21Men." Forever 21 offers a wide assortment of clothing, stylish, average-quality, but affordable and inexpensive. I have seen a few tee's here that are hilarious, and I am a fan of the outerwear and shoes. I would advise against buying denim (it's so scratchy and cheap feeling) and any sort of suiting (come on... if you want a suit from Forever 21 you don't deserve to be wearing one). This location gets 4 stars because it is by far the -largest- men's section I've seen, most Forever 21 locations allocate a very small area to 21Men. The caveat however is that this location is a converted (and ugly) Sears or JCPenney. There was very little effort in creating a comfortable or appealing shopping atmosphere, and they use the circle-with-lots-of-holes in the ceiling kind of loudspeakers and BLARE music out of them like nobody's business. I get a headache from it so I have to hurry and make my selections so I get the hell outta there before my ears fall off. read more

My goodness, there is no easy way to say this- but this place is absolutely reprehensible. Call me biased, but I am being as objective as possible. It could have just been my luck, though I stand by my word. I've only been here twice to shop for some clothing I needed on the spot while on my way to work in San Gabriel, and both times have been unpleasant. If your idea of a good retail shopping experience is visiting a store ran by unprofessional, drama-filled immature high school kids who barely acknowledge your existence then this is definitely your place. I walk up the men's section on the second floor and it took me about 3 minutes walking around the floor just to find a sales associate. And when I finally did, I see two young adults (this guy and his lady friend/coworker) working next to each other pretending to be productive, when all they were really doing was gossiping and slowly folding clothes. When I asked for help, the The customer service is mediocre at best. Fortunately, the Montebello mall also had an Express, and though pricey, the service and atmosphere are invariably superior to that of Forever 21 in Montebello. Just walk into the Express there and you can immediately see and feel the difference. Doing so gave me some perspective on the striking disparities in customer service between these two stores. I was immediately greeted when I walked into Express, and the sales associate was more than happy to help me. I really don't know what the criteria of Montebello Forever 21 is based on, but just simply walking out of the store and overhearing the frivolous gossiping between cashiers made me one dissatisfied customer. THE GOOD: Forever 21 has had a long reputation for carrying a decent line of fashionable clothing at a budget-friendly price. This particular location was up-to-date with their styles. THE BAD: Just about everything else- specifically the service (or lack of it). They are also frequently out of stock on the certain pieces of clothing that I am seeking. Forever 21 - One working, three think they're models - Women's Clothing Near Me - Montebello, California

I was sad that I went out of my way to show up to this particular location to find a particular sweater. After the husband and I desperately searched for it on our own, we decided to ask someone for help. We asked one of the workers and she was kind enough to look for it for us after searching in the computer system and seeing that they had 8 available in that particular location in my size. After a good 30 minutes or so, she informed me that the sweater might not be out in display yet and that it is most likely still in a box in the back. I wish she would have just gone to the back and maybe get it for me being that she had already informed me there was 8 in that location... instead she apologized and asked me to come back over the weekend which I didn't. What makes me even sadder is that a few of my friends have come here before and usually someone is happy to go to the back and even get the items for them. Not sure if maybe my person didn't care to do it or maybe she wasn't allowed to do so but I left sad and empty handed. Oh wells. Horrible staff! I just came back from Forever 21 to buy gift cards for my nieces for Christmas. It was 8:30 on 12/9/12. I got there and went straight to the register. Only one girl was open. And I stress "Girl!" First complaint - Forever 21 you guys don't get it! You can't staff your stores with kids that don't give a $#!t! They treat customers like crap. And you piss off one customer, and you'll never get them back. They'll tell others and you lose those customers as well. You aren't getting me back! You had 3 other employees doing nothing but chatting it up while one was working the counter. I got my gift cards and stood in line only to have another stupid @$$ B teens tell me the line was somewhere else. WTF?!?! I was standing behind the line when I got there! I let the kid have her way, and went to the back the line. But the other people didn't know where the hell the line was either and created a third line! Second complaint - Forever 21 - mark where your God Damn lines are! I told the girl behind your counter and she just shrugged. She didn't care. So I proceeded to try to buy some gift cards only for her to tell me that she needed a manager. She tried to call one. We waited. I waited 10 minutes. No manager showed up. So I left. Third complaint - Forever 21 - get some responsible managers on staff to run your store correctly. Its a shame that companies like yours can hit it big and do well when your staff is so horrible. If I were managing your stores, I would fire all of the ones I saw. Careless, irresponsible, & rude. You are in the customer service sector - Why the F* would I want to buy clothes or have my nieces buy clothes from a store where they don't get it?!?!
