Great little gas station and mini mart…read more We were on our way to Hell Hole Reservoir. Stopped here to use the bathroom because I'm particular about where I pee. I'm not one to just pull over to the side of the road and pee in the bushes. I don't like to pee outside. I don't even pee in the ocean. I'm particular where I pee. This place is way up in the mountains, and as it turned out, exactly where you need a bathroom to be if you had multiple cups of coffee before you left Sacramento, as I had done. So happy to discover this gas station does have a public restroom. It's in a small building separate from the mini mart. It was clean and tidy, qualities we all appreciate in a public restroom. After taking care of business and washing my hands I popped into the Mini Mart to spend some money. I didn't actually need anything, I had snacks in the car. But when I stop at a little mom and pop operation like this I always try to spend some cash. I want this place to still be in business next time I'm passing through. The Mini Mart has mad snacks! Including many of my favorites, like Chili Cheese Fritos, Chicharrones, Trail Mix, Chex Mix and Pretzels. They had about ten or fifteen different kinds of Sunflower Seeds. Some weird ass flavored ones too. For example: Taco Supreme flavor, Zesty Ranch flavor, Dill Pickle favor, Jacked Pepper flavor, Takis Fuego Flavor, and BBQ flavor. For a hot minute I considered trying one of those bizarro flavors. I eventually decided to just get a bag of regular old David Original Jumbo seeds. My same old, same old. Maybe someday I'll try one of those exotic flavors. But probably not. Oh, and I love that the self service soda fountain featured Pepsi products, Love me a Pepsi with my Sunflower Seeds. In fact, there's a veritable plethora of drink options in this Mini Mart. In addition to the self serve soda fountain, there's also a slushie-type machine with two flavors (red and blue). They even have one of those push button automated Espresso machines. The Mini Mart is stocked to serve the local community as well as travellers passing through. Shelves were stocked with everything from pet food to BBQ supplies. You need Folgers Coffee, French's Mustard, Del Monte Ketchup? Top Ramen, Campbell's Soup, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese? Toilet Paper, Motor Oil, Insect Repellant? You need a Gas Can? You can find it all here at the Forresthill Valero Mini Mart. And I was impressed that the price of gas here wasn't that much higher than it was in Sacramento. So, yeah, I'm a big fan of Foresthill Valero. I think the head suspension tech/owner (Jim) might be the Michael Jordan of tire, wheel, and suspension installation. When I had an issue with something in my suspension, he showed me the part and explained why it needs to be addressed. I know a little bit about cars but Jim would explain an issue in a digestible way that someone with no car knowledge or mechanical aptitude could understand. That's a rare gift in the automotive repair industry. What really stood out to me is they don't move forward with any additional work unless you give the green light. That level of transparency and respect is rare. Also--random but worth mentioning--they have the cleanest restroom I've ever seen in any mechanic or retail shop. That alone says a lot about how they run their business. I'll be honest, I spent a bit more than I expected on both visits--but I left feeling 100% confident my vehicles were safe and the work was done right. That peace of mind is worth it. CHP impounded my Audi on aug 21st 2024 They called kilroys to come and retrieve my vehicle from a parking space in front of holiday market grocery store. The audi was released to us from kilroys on aug 22nd 2024 after having to pay just under $900 to get it out of impound Here's the kicker. A bunch of my stuff was missing from my purse and toiletry bags inside the audi. These items were inside of my purse and toiletry bags which were inside the audi when kilroys came to pick it up. Items lost/STOLEN: a BOATLOAD of SEPHORA & ULTA BEAUTY products, creams, lotions, seeums, makeup, facial sorays, mists, setting sprays Also, my 2010 FORD F150 keys (value: $300) were no longer in my purse which was inside the audi for the duration of its 24 hour stay at Kilroys BEWARE don't leave any valuables in your car if its to be towed to kilroys for impound because they are NOT going to be in your car anymore when you pick it back up. I was lucky enough to find Nick's NorCal Road Service located in West Sacramento. The shop has a garage that is big enough to service a class motorhome. Nick's technicians completed the job within an hour. The price was very reasonable. Nick's shop also offers services that are related to any heavy duty diesel and gas truck engines. The shop also offers services such as electrical work that are related to the RV house itself. Some of these services can also be offered in mobile. If you have a RV that needs some work done, I highly recommend you to take your RV to his shop. You will not be disappointed.
