I received a flyer in the mail from Auburn Auto Doctors with a great deal for a full service oil change. When I called to inquire about any extra costs they were happy to help (I forgot the gentleman's name that initially helped me). He quoted me a price and set an appointment. The appointment lasted 1.5 hours. They had snacks and coffee which is the way to my heart. They kept me informed while I waited and I never had to wonder what was being done. At the end of my appointment Marco printed out a checklist of the items they inspected. He advised me which things should be addressed in order of priority. The overall experience was great! I felt respected, heard, and valued as a customer. The price quote was the same after their work. I'll definitely be back. read more

I wouldn't trust them as far as I can throw them. Initially I was captured by the super friendly tone. But, I learned it was just PR. Recently, I had a small issue. They learned that from their tech, but ignored him and went for the $1000 of diagnostic work. No results promised, other than the $1000 cost. In my opinion, they are just money grubbers. Always selling what you don't need and ignoring what you do. It's hard to know when, or if, they are being honest. Also, if there is a low-cost fix, it's not offered. My first work with them was to have 6 plugs replaced. Plugs were $100, labor $500...at least four hours of an expert mechanic's time. They said it was a very complicated job. I inspected the area after the work was done and found that not one spec of dust on the engine had been disturbed, not even that on top of the ignition coils, which sit on top of the spark plugs, and they were working in there for FOUR hours. The old plugs weren't returned. Not sure if it really happened. Needless to say, I'm out. read more

I had only taken my car to Rocklin Audi and paid a ridiculous amount of money. To only get my car back without noticeable fixes and an empty windshield wiper reservoir ("we filled all the fluid levels!" Not). So when my car started making creepy grinding noises I followed everyone else's Yelp reviews and made an appointment here. From the start, the communication was excellent. Marco was super helpful and after retrieving my car he patiently went through and explained all the issues, complete WITH PHOTOS! And then a complete follow/up detailed email with attached pics. Usually mechanics tell you "this is the problem and it'll be this much" and if you have no automotive knowledge, you're screwed. (I can change spark plugs and oil in a '66 Mustang but that's it. ) The oil cap looked like it had been put on "by an air hammer" according to my Husband and Marco and had to be replaced ( never again, Rocklin Audi!) almighty with other issues never recognized by Audi. Luckily, my Husband is also apparently a wicked mechanic and was able ( after weeks and a lot of cursing) to do the work recommended by Auburn Auto Doctors ( cv axle, swing arms, brakes, etc) but the service, explanations , ease of appointments and quick communication was something like I've never experienced. I (almost) felt bad having my Husband fix my car instead of them. So here I am currently waiting for my smog. I love Auburn Auto Doctors, highly recommend and will ALWAYS come here ( when my Husband can't fix something ) 10/10!!!! read more

We took our 2012 Acura ZDX to Auto Doctors to get a smog test, have our headlights defogged and have our AC checked and tested. Our AC was only working intermittently and had been an issue for a few months. We worked with Service Advisor, Corey, who handled our intake and explained the level of the AC testing, etc. After determining the cause of the AC problem, Corey reached out to us and gave us all the in depth details as to what was recommended to fix the issue. We approved the work and we are very happy with the results of our AC working once again! We are also very happy with the headlight defogging. Thank you, Corey, and the team for an excellent job. I found Auburn Auto Doctors on my way back from Burning Man with a fully loaded 80's Ford Econoline that had developed a vibration within the last 30 miles or so of my drive. They were able to squeeze me into their busy schedule a couple of hours later and threw the van on to the lift to investigate. It turns out the vibration was caused by a tire that had started to delaminate, which could have caused damage or even potentially an accident had I continued to drive on it. In the past at some auto shops I feel like as a gal I've been taken advantage of financially & for just not knowing as much about car repairs.. I received a coupon in the mail for an inexpensive oil change and full auto inspection, so figured I would give this shop a try. The oil change was fine, but it came with a list of dozens of "problems" that they said needed to be repaired, for shockingly high prices. When I left, my tire pressure light was on; I took my car to the friendly shop downtown where I buy my tires, and within 10 minutes the owner found that two of my four pressure sensors were not working. Auto Doctors failed to notice this, and goodness knows what they would have proposed charging me for repairs if they did. They did leave a "bribe" of cookies to encourage you to leave a good review online -- sorry, not gonna work! I won't be returning to this shop, the whole experience felt untrustworthy. (The owner also owns the gun store down the street, so take that as you will.) Bottom line -- if you do go here, get a second opinion before having expensive repairs done. This company lied to my husband and told us that our car had a blown head gasket and that it would be 10,000 to repair. We called the dodge dealership and they quoted us 2,800. We took it to the Dodge dealership in town.And they told us not only did it not have a blown head gasket.But all the repairs that auburn auto docs said they did they did not do. I have paperwork and plenty of proof to back this up.And I will not let this go.They refuse to refund our money and now we will have to take them to court to get it back! I brought my car in because I had a code showing up on my car. I brought it here because their website clearly states "...come by our shop for a free estimate." I made an appointment and stopped by their shop. They checked the code (which I already knew and told them ahead of time). They then informed me that it would cost $150 for an estimate. Problem is I know too much about fixing cars and took it to another shop because they quoted less that half to do the work and a day after I dropped it off at the other shop they told me it didn't need any of that stuff and that it just needed some grease.
