What a weird experience. Came in there because we've heard great things, got a spot at the bar and waited 10 minutes before giving up and leaving. We watched the bartenders take shots together and serve everyone around us without even acknowledging we sat down. Tried to give the it a chance understanding it could be busy, but when I see no one at the bar without a drink other than us, we gave up and left. after my friends were rejected from the truffle table for no reason, this place put us straight back on the path to a great night. And a great night it was. They were playing a beautiful winter documentary in the bathroom and every time I went in there I couldn't help but burst out laughing some. Lots of nooks and crannies and books. Vending machine full of books. Water Stream runs thru the outside and fires for all the pyros and hypothermic people out there. It was a little weird because there were four people who looked Just like a certain fugitive on the run there.. and the waiter was Paul Bunyan amazing running the place busy as a beee. I got What Old Timers Call Cabin Fever drink and I felt like I was home with my family having a relaxing drink mid fall. Wow the ambience is unbeatable. The best part about this place is they respected my 25 year old friends rights to have a drink. We got some food and it was great. Updating my previous review to note that this place charged my card twice, so I now have to dispute it with my bank. Also, I left it out of my previous review to try and give them the benefit of the doubt, but I feel compelled to mention now that there were large, jagged broken pieces of hard plastic in the cheese from the fondue plate. The fondue plate was also not good aside from that. They offered to comp the fondue, but I stead charged my card a random additional amount. The Cheese Board was delicious, as was the Skillet Mac & Cheese, Bison Burger, and the Skillet Cheese Fries. The Summer Roasted Carrots were disappointing to say the least. They may as well have given us an empty plate for how little (mushy) carrot there was. The Strawberry cake had a nice flavor, but was too dense. I will never patronize this wack bar again. When we walked in, there was no one behind the bar so we stood around and then checked out the outdoor area (which was empty and lackluster). Came back in and there was still no bartender for another 3 minutes. Scanned the code for the menu and my partner asked what the house red wine was. Answer was, "it's a house red." Didn't know that was such a wild question. After my puzzled look, the bartender further said that it was a blend and he didn't know what was in it. Mind you, he said this in the most put upon voice imaginable. I opted to close out rather than start a tab after that pleasant exchange. He gave us our drinks and went on break after serving another party. I thought was being to hasty and looked to give the relief server a shot. Sadly, the second bartender never greeted us or asked if we wanted anything else. We left right after. In a unfortunate stroke, we crossed paths once again with bartender number one who spit to the right of the door as we exited, solidifying my disgust at his demeanor and for the establishment by extension. And on a final note, the decor is a bit uneasy. I get the stuffed animals, but the naked stank faced baby dolls does nothing more than remind you how bad your drinks are. read more

This place is pretty awesome. It's an outdoors-themed bar which sounds tacky but I thought they pulled it off quite well. The inside is decorated like a cabin (with all sorts of quirky decor and creepy objects like taxidermy, dolls, and toys). The patio is arranged to look like the outside of a cabin (with vegetation, tree stumps, a stream, fire pits). Their cocktail menu was pretty impressive. Saw not one, but two cocktails made with Fernet. While I'm not a fan of the stuff personally, it's still pretty rare to find it on a cocktail menu. The rest of the menu sounded really interesting and inventive. I had the Huckleberry Lynx and it was delicious. It was pretty crowded on a Friday night which isn't surprising. If you're in the area (eating at Linger perhaps), check it out. I came with a friend but I think it'd make a great date spot. read more

I really love the decor and atmosphere of Forest Room 5. It's so fun, odd, and interesting all at once. From the teddy bear closet, to the fairy-like patio, and the eccentric items all around the bar - it's awesome. It's so nice to sit outside in the summer and to cozy up over a cocktail inside when it's cold. All around cool space. The happy hour at Forest Room 5 is pretty great. There are a handful of cocktails that are $5-$6, draft beer specials, and a couple of snacks that are fairly cheap as well. The cocktails are pretty unique, and even though there are only a few beers on tap, they are all very delicious. I haven't had anything on the main menu, but the happy hour hummus was delicious. The only issue I have with Forest Room 5 is the service. Their staff are friendly, but it always seems like they don't have enough servers. Every time I've gone, I've been greeted quickly, but it's really hard to get a second drink or to put food in. I actually feel kind of bad because the servers always seem to be in the weeds. I really enjoy hanging out here, but just wish things were a little faster. All in all, a great bar to check out. If you're looking for a funky spot to hang out, it's a really fun spot. read more

Vibe of the outdoor atmosphere is great and the cocktails were pretty good too with real fruit juices. Food was only okay, nothing to write home about. However, service was very poor - and honestly a bit off putting. I will say, we did hear another server interacting with her tables - and we probably would have had a much different experience with her. Ours though, very rude - and a little shady. Upon sitting, we were asked for a card for the tab. Fine, all good. Server was unfriendly, and unhelpful the whole time, being helped more by other staff. When the experience took a rough turn, was when we asked for the check, was acknowledged, and waited...and waited...and waited. Finally, our server comes to greet a table nearby when I asked for the check. Response made us feel like we were morons for even asking and "she took care of it". Mind you, we have not seen a receipt - or signed for anything. I asked, don't I need to sign for a tip and such? She says, no I took care of it. Beings we were in a hurry, and had already waited almost 15 minutes for our "check" - I rolled my eyes and caught our Lyft. Now, receiving the charge - it's estimated the server gave herself well over a 20% gratuity. Hopefully didn't take the whole bill? No one knows. As a prior server myself, and foodie, this was very poor taste and not a great experience at all. Shady. Will not return and do not recommend. read more

Very unique spot, great for taking friend there. They have huge outdoor area for whens its nice out and i think one or two fire-pits for when its chilly. Love this place! We came for a drink before my birthday dinner, and it was so fun. The atmosphere is amazing - you feel like you're in the woods! I stopped in on Friday for happy hour and snacks. We ordered a few drinks and a charcuterie board. The space does feel like a wilderness camp, which I love. I am all in! We sat inside because it was a bit chilly but walking through the outside area did feel like a glamping bar. We grabbed a couple seats at the bar. The place wasn't busy as it was still pretty early. Our drinks were well made and served up fast. Our charcuterie board was a little odd. It was a LOT of cheese, some salami a smear of jam and a little bit of bread. The proportions were way off and there wasn't enough bread to eat with the meat and cheese. I say it as a cheese lover so it hurts my heart.. too much cheese on the board and not enough carbs.. needed some crackers or crisps to go along with the bread. Some mustards would have been great too. Our bartenders were very sweet and quick when we could get their attention but they didn't seem to have much of a system for how to take orders. As the evening went on and the bar filled up, they didn't seem to work the bar in any type of order so some people waited a really long time to place an order and others who just walked up were served immediately. That could be an easy fix though and perhaps make their lives easier as well. I really liked the ambiance so I would go back to sit outdoors (with a parka) and give that a go and try one of those espresso drinks that looked so good too. read more

Awesome lil eclectic spot nestled in the LoHi district of Denver. Decor is amusing and totally random. Great bartender and an all over cool spot to visit! They play old movies from the 70's and 80's on a projector screen above the bar.... Which is just so neat, and also have outdoor seating, like camping style. Very cool spot for a late night drink with friends. 100% recommend to check it out. read more

Definitely a different type of vibe! Very fun place to hang out and have a drink talk and had a very neat set up makes you feel like your at a camp ground! The food was ok, I got the chicken sandwich with a salad, the sandwich was ok but the salad was delicious we got a large charcuterie board, it was only ok, I won't get again. My son liked the skillet FF he liked those, and for dessert we got the skillet s'mores, which that was a hit! Service was a bit frustrating, not there fault, they were good but too busy for just the two of them. It was hard for them to keep up but they where definitely rippin and running. I would pop in again if I was in the area with out of town guests it is a different fun place however probably just get the s'mores and a drink. read more

The food was not worth the amount I paid for. My brother was not a fan of his burger after a few bites. He Immediately shut me down and said "once it's closed we can't print out a receipt plus it had asked you how you wanted a receipt, rather that's text or printed" I had replied "I apologize but I didn't see that part and would like one because the prices didn't seem to add up." Waiters response was "let me go see if our manager can." After awhile we never saw him again so we went to the bar asking what happened, (I think he was hoping we would just leave) but the bartender said there was no one there that night that could help us. Angrily, We sat there price checking the menu with what we had order including tip but the prices still didn't add up and found it really weird that this place couldn't print out my receipt. While it wasn't a big difference it was still a difference and I have NEVER experienced a restaurant nor business who couldn't do that even after a tab has been closed. We were recommended to go here late one Sunday night as the restaurant we were eating at was closing, our waitress told us about Forest Room 5 that may be open later and still serving. So we walked on over here. Its a little easy to pass at night, you have to follow the dirt road along the stream to get inside. Plenty of cool tables outside too though! The ambiance was AMAZING and exactly what we were looking for. Such a great idea and well executed! The drinks were overly sweet and sour like a mix was used. The drink ideas were fun but didn't turn out great. We tried to order just a regular bar drink, not a cocktail from their menu, but they don't have any soda for mixers or even cherries/grenadine for them. The service was just ok. I walked in from the back to get another drink. I walked to an open end of a bar where an employee was standing behind the bar. He was talking to 2 patrons so I sat quietly waiting for him to ask what I wanted. He just looked at me then looked away and started to play trivial pursuit with the two guys. I got up and walked to the other bartender and she helped me right away. While she was making my drink the guy who ignored me walked over to make a drink for someone. I guess he just didn't want to make one for me. I hadn't even seen him before I came in so I'm not sure why he didn't like me. If he wasn't making drinks it would have been nice for him to tell me that. The bartender came to tell us the back was closing at 11, that's fine, it was getting cold and the fire pits were off so we move inside. At 11:30 they say it's last call. I look outside and there are people out back and now the fire pits are on. They made us leave at 12:00. It looked like they wanted us out so they could kick it with their friends. This pub is incredibly unique and a really raw and unapologetic experience in a first world increasingly full of cookie cutter, sterile hipster restaurants. The staff are SUPER chill, the atmosphere reminds me of Are You Afraid of The Dark- lots of creepy, dingy dolls and old books. Yes it's a bit damp and dusty, it's like drinking a beer in your grandfather's basement-lots of character and good food to be had if you're open-minded. The outside area is really cool-everything you need to camp out and get away from it all. You know, in Denver. The drinks are tasty and cheap, and the chili was delicious. This was probably the worst experience I have yet at any restaurant. *mind you this food was like 2 out of 10. over priced drinks for no dang reason** Took them forever for drinks and food. The waitress we had clearly had no idea what she was doing or any sign of a thought process. She forgot half of our order. When we reminded her that we needed the other half's of the order since 2 of our party still has no food...... not surprised she forgot it again. We decided to cancel our order. The part that was the biggest most unprofessionalism she never asked us from the get go if we needed to split our checks.
