This time we tried as many burgers as we could! The Jiffy burger is a fun novelty, but was not our favorite. The peanut butter flavor was very unique and a must try. The Fords signature needs extra bbq sauce, but is an excellent go to burger for a solid meal. Bison burger is very good with a switch to pepper Jack over the Swiss. We came in for lunch and waited about 25 minutes for a table and were seated outside. Maddie our serve was super friendly, attentive because she and the whole restaurant were busy, and an excellent server. We had two salads, fried chicken salad, bacon cheeseburger and pretzels. Since I'm really not into Dearborn, I hardly visit the city. My friend suggested Ford's Garage this evening for dinner since she really enjoys the fish and chips. She ordered it again this evening and loved it. I had an Old Fashioned, which was excellent...cheers to the bartender. I dined on a mushroom Swiss burger and truffle fries. Both were pretty good. I really enjoyed the fries. I wished the portion size were a bit larger. I smashed every bit of potato on my plate. The burger was yummy, just a tad dry. I ordered it med-well, but it was cooked well done. Nevertheless, I'd definitely order it again. My friends fish looked great. The dish comes with one large piece. Our server, Jordan, was friendly and efficient. The restaurant is huge and seats tons of people with an ample parking lot. The menu prices were appropriate for the faire. We started with the Firestone shrimp after I told my husband I could not do another nacho app. I like nachos, but I'm kinda done, and he is obsessed. We compromised on the shrimp after I suggested an o-ring tower. Compromise is good because the shrimp are crispy perfection in a very creamy sauce with a slight zip to it. We both enjoyed. He opted for a Monte Cristo. He got the best entree. I really liked mine but this was special. Deep fried happiness. Good meats and cheese. Not greasy. He loved it with the jam, but I liked it dipped in honey mustard way better. My estate burger was no slouch. Meaty and perfectly cooked. Really juicy, and the toppings were so harmonious together. I can't possibly go below 5 stars. We arrived around 5:10 on a Thursday and there were 10 of us. We were promptly seated within five minutes. Our waiter was an absolute rock star. Even though our group was six or more and our server was guaranteed an 18% tip, he was extremely attentive. Our waiter made recommendations and raved about the burgers, salmon and another menu item. My burger was phenomenal as pictured. There are 40 different rotating draft beers and many in our group had dessert. Overall everyone in our party ranging from age 12 to 69 raved about their meal. Ford's garage is a laid back atmosphere with a car collectors feel. We came on a busy Saturday but the staff was really dialed in and focused. Small wait but nothing crazy. Our server was very friendly and because i'm writing this later i cannot remember his name. I ordered the brisket nachos and wow!! Ford's Garage is a lot of fun! There is a lot of nostalgia to take in with the cars. If you are a sorts fan...then you will find a lot of TV's to show your game. Everywhere you turn you can see the garage theme in action. I loved the mechanic uniforms on the wait staff. The utensils presented in a shop towel wrapped by a hose clamp was very clever. The onion rings stacked on a funnel was ingenious. Even the condiments were stored in s tool chest. The restaurant was very clean unlike my garage lol. The bar area was very attractive. As mentioned...the rings come stacked on an oil funnel. The ring has a pretty good sized piece of sliced moist onion inside. The onion only had a mild onion taste. The batter was nice and crisp and moderately thick. Not much spice in the batter nor was it greasy in taste. These rings were excellent!! The Thai Chicken salad was good. The lettuce was fresh and firm at the top of the salad. The lettuce became soft and limp by time I got to the bottom. I'm not sure if it drowned in the dressing or that where the lesser quality lettuce goes. The dressing had a nice smooth peanut taste. It was thin is consistency and plentiful. The Thai flavor had a bit of spicy to give it a kick. The chicken was perfectly cooked and moist. It held some of the Thai sauce flavor. The salad was garnished with crisps. Unique definitely defines the exterior and interior of Ford's Garage. The decor is so cool and well thought out. But if loud isn't your style, don't come here. The music is very loud which means people talk even louder. Our table of four had a difficult time hearing each other at a small square table. In terms of the building and decor, there are three older model Ford cars outside and old style gas pumps. The door handles are made from gas pump handles, the sinks in the bathrooms are tires and the faucets are gas pump handles, plus there's many more unique features. They offer a wide variety of food with burgers being their spotlight. Of the four of us, three ordered burgers and the other salmon. Hubby said he burger was good and I thought mine was just alright. I didn't like the crispy texture on the outside of the burger and I thought it was a little over done. I upgraded my side to the sweet potato tots and I didn't care for them or the dipping sauce. I tried hubby's seasoned fries and liked them more. Overall, the food wasn't impressive. I'm glad we tried Ford's but I don't plan to go back again. Just too loud and food was mediocre. read more

I have been a customer of Ford's Garage in Dearborn, MI for more than 6 years. During this time, for the most part, I have had nothing but great experiences. There have been several mis steps concerning management, but overall my experience has been very good. The food at Ford's is always excellent, but the best experience in my opinion has been the service! I would specifically like to recognize a member of the bartending staff, Kelly Otten. Kelly has been working at Ford's since the day the restraunt was opened. I met Kelly during my 1st visit to Ford's 6 years ago. I have never had a bad experience with the service she has provided. She is 100% customer centric. Whether follow up on food orders, recommendations and preparations of drinks or beer and insuring that each and every guest has the best possible experience at Ford's. Her bar is always kept clean and is well prepared despite the fact that sometimes the previous bartenders have not I have observed that Kelly has an acute ability to quickly identify the overall temperament of each customer that she has and interacts appropriately. She always has a smile and kind greeting for every customer that comes her way. I have made recommendations to many family members and friends to visit Ford's and specifically, if possible visit at a time that Kelly is working. I always insure that I visit Ford's at least once per week because I know that Kelly will provide the best service. After going to the Henry Ford Museum we stopped here for the first time. It was before 5:00PM when we arrived and it was already very crowded, which is a good sign to us. We like a well-established restaurant with a fan base, food is usually good since there is a lot of competition for restaurants. We had to wait about 45 minutes for a table so I stopped at the bar and tried a Mai Tai're. The bar tender made it "extra piratey" with the rum. It was good, a solid cocktail and not overpriced. We got a nice booth and I love the decor. If you are into cars, Fords, kitschy themed restaurants, this place would be for you. I liked their music selection as well. And it was very crowded, every spot taken and an hour and a half wait after we arrived, so plan ahead. I tried the patty melt and fries. We also had the brisket burger, peanut butter burger, and blackened chicken mac and cheese. I felt the portions were good, I only finished one half of the patty melt and had fries to take home as well. Everything tasted pretty good. The other food being served around the restaurant looked good too, like the shrimp and pretzels. There was a great selection of beers on tap. I got the blackberry Perrin which I look forward to when it is in season. The kids got these incredible frozen lemonades with strawberry swirled into them. They were thick and delicious. It was not necessarily on the menu but the server told us they could make them for them. The server was pretty good as well. My only complaint was that there was an up-charge for ranch and BBQ sauce. The prices of the food were not cheap and there was no mention on the menu of the extra fees nor did the server let us know there was an additional charge. Nine of us headed over to the Ford's Garage in Dearborn for dinner on Tuesday night and I had a blast. The interior is quite a spectacle to behold, and if you have an auto lover or gearhead in your family, they will surely enjoy the auto-centric atmosphere. My dinner was a Thai Chicken Salad ($14.99) with Grilled Chicken, Mixed Greens, Mandarin Oranges, Sesame Seeds, Asian Slaw, and Crispy Wonton Strips. I had to try the meatloaf even though my go to menu is fish snd chips. I wasn't disappointed. Very tasty and do like a home recipe served with delicious gravy, mashed potatoes and a side choice. Rough day. My wife and I needed food, drinks, and not to cook. We ended up at Ford's Garage in Dearborn. We walked in and were greeted right away. The hostess asked, "Table or booth?" We chose booth. She led us to the back--right into a birthday party that sounded like it was sponsored by a megaphone company. We politely bailed and asked to be reseated. No problem. She moved us to a much quieter spot near the bar. Peace restored. Jacob, our server, showed up fast and got us going with drinks. I ordered a pint of my usual draft. My wife asked to try a hard cider--he brought her a sample like a total pro. She liked it. Cider secured. We told Jacob we'd had a rough day and planned to take our time. He nodded and asked if we wanted a second round. This man reads the room. We started with Edsel's Hot Pretzels. Four big, soft pretzels came out quickly with Beer Cheese and Honey Mustard. Both were good, but that Beer Cheese? Dangerous. I could drink it out of a coffee mug. Jacob casually mentioned he's tried everything on the menu. Finally--a server who actually eats the food. I asked, "If money didn't matter, what would you order?" Without skipping a beat: "The Highway 101 burger. Limited time. Worth it." My wife had just ordered the same thing, medium-well, no arugula, with seasoned fries. So I followed suit--Highway 101, medium, with slaw. Burgers came out hot and perfectly cooked. One hiccup: hers had arugula. We let Jacob know, and he didn't blink--grabbed it, sent it back, and had a new one out fast. Same top bun (you could see where the little decorative flag had been), no greens, no complaints. She's picky about lettuce flavor, and this passed the test. I visited this restaurant twice with a friend, about a year apart. I actually ordered the meatloaf for my entree both times: it was soft and tender yet didn't fall apart. They seasoned it well, and it didn't need ketchup because that flavor was permeated throughout. I like that it wasn't too salty, and it had a delicious gravy on bottom. The Mac & cheese was the best part of the meal the first time I visited - it was al dente, creamy, and a really pronounced cheese flavor. Sadly, it tasted more generic the second time around, but was still good. The mashed potatoes were buttery and tasted pretty good. The green beans were fresh and cooked well. My friend's Chicken Henry had good flavor, but it was very dry and tough. It also had too much goat cheese on top. The firestone shrimp is essentially their version of Bonefish's bang bang shrimp. I like that they used bigger shrimps than Bonefish, and probably a comparable amount (they're not propped up by a bunch of lettuce in a bowl to make it look like a big portion of shrimp), but $12 for 10 shrimp ($12.99 in 2022) is way too pricey. Edsel's Hot Pretzels: definitely hot and fresh, with a delicious, creamy cheese sauce (just be careful when you dip because it's thin, so it may spill over) I love the unique atmosphere with the old Ford car theme, especially in the bathroom.
