Came to brunch at Fora with a few friends for a bachelorette brunch and had a great time! We made reservations for 10am on a Saturday but definitely could just walk in if you're that early and have a smaller group, as the restaurant was fairly empty. However it did pick up around 12! The menu is very small but had a nice variety of lighter options such as avocado toast and yogurt, and heartier sandwiches and Benedicts. We had the avocado toast, two egg dish, breakfast burrito, lattes and coffees, and everything was fine. I know we had a large-ish group (8) but the staff had some trouble keeping track of certain preferences on dishes. For example we had ordered three lattes where one was decaf, and they gave the decaf one to the wrong person. We also had four avocado toasts with one without coconut and they also gave that one to the wrong person. Their patio is huge and beautiful!! We went out there to take pictures and asked our server if we could go out there to have cocktails after our dinner. It had rained earlier that morning and he told us the tables were wet and then walked away. Would have been nice if someone could have wiped them down for us as we probably would have sat out there for a while! Overall there's nothing out of this world driving me back to this location, but it is in a great location in the hotel Emily, and has some nice basic options for a casual brunch. read more

I really liked this spot. The highlight was the service, very friendly and accommodating staff but not too in your space either. i came here for brunch with a couple friends and got the french toast & bottomless mimosas for brunch. the french toast was amazing - melts in your mouth, maple syrup and the cinnamon brown butter is phenomenal. my only critique is that i wish there were more berries to balance out the sweetness especially with the pricing - but take this as you will because i'm usually a savory over sweet person. the mimosas are also very refreshing and paired well with the french toast. lexi, our server, was very attentive and funny/sweet. the outside seating was beautiful with the lights and foliage. highly recommend for a traditional brunch. wld come back to try the benedict! read more

Love this spot when I want to be boujee on a budget :) You can have quality food in a fancy spot for an affordable price! Their happy hour goes Monday-Friday and they have multiple cocktails for $8. They also do a bottomless brunch for $26 which is pretty on par with others in the city. When we went there was a DJ during the end of our brunch that really added to the vibe. One of the parts that made my experience at Fora so amazing was our waitress. She was so nice and when we ordered the bottomless mimosas, she was so attentive to keep filling up our glasses. The food was beautiful and tasted great. This place is inside of the Emily hotel so the ambiance is unmatched. We were profiled by the host and turned away when half of the restaurant was empty. This was one of the worst experiences I've had dining in Chicago. We went to Fora for my friends birthday - it was a party of 8 - Food and service was awful, we were over charged on purpose and some of us got FOOD POISONING. See below for details. First off, a couple of us were there before the birthday girl and we ordered drinks. It took 30 MINUTES to bring our drinks. When I got my wine there was a ring of red wine on the bottom of the glass. Thank goodness I caught it if not I would've ruined my dress. The server and hostess were extremely rude to us until my friend (the bday girl) arrived and they only started being nice after she arrived because she's a food writer in the city. I also brought a cake for the birthday girl which I asked them to refrigerate and they did not refrigerate it so the cake was ruined. The food was absolutely disgusting. The octopus was over cooked, under seasoned and extremely dry. The arctic char was also over cooked and too salty. We tried most of their small plates and they were all disgusting. Over cooked and under seasoned. To top it all of a couple of us got FOOD POISONING over night. To make a bad night worse, the server did not show us the full bill. Instead he gave us the device with our potion to pay. He did not tell us however that tip was already included. When the bill got to me I asked about it and he hesitantly said yes tip is included. So myself along with one other girl were the only ones who did not pay and additional tip on top the 20% already charged. It was extremely shady read more

I had an early breakfast at Fora today - loved it. The staff was accommodating and let me pick a table, have a huge bottle of water, and were fine with me working on my laptop during a long breakfast. Everything started fine when beginning my experience at FORA. Cocktails, appetizers were fine and service was good. Truthfully no problems. I received the fried chicken sandwich and cut into it and saw it to be pink in the middle and though incredibly hungry, I wanted to send back as I was not comfortable eating this. I was able to get my server's attention after a few minutes and she was accommodating and sent it back. While it took some time to come to the table she came back to tell me my cocktail would be off the bill. Then my sandwich returned by the sous chef and once cut in half, it was still pink and to my discomfort. I told the sous chef I was not comfortable eating it and will just send it back and he understood. At this point my friends were already close to finished on their meals and they brought back to me fries and free cheese curds. Once it came to the bill we were paying and I noticed the bill to still have the chicken sandwich, I asked politely if it was possible for the sandwich to be taken off my bill considering it was sent back twice and asked if the free cocktail to be added as I didn't want to inconvenience them. The server then responds with an annoyed tone, "I can ask but when we took it back and checked the temp it was fine but if you want free food, I'll ask" and walked away. That was really unsettling as it was still visibly pink in the middle the second time and she responded with such a clapback. I was able to get the sandwich off the bill at her dismay. They also kept prying on asking if we wanted dessert or anything additional and truly made my table feel like they were covering their mistakes in attempt to buy us. We had the perfect day on Sunday at a perfect Restaurant! The food was incredible and was presented beautifully. Their brunch menu is phenomenal. The ambiance was wonderful and we were able to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Our party of six was there to celebrate my daughters 30's birthday. few restaurants have left me feeling the way that fora has. it's that feeling of when you wake up from a nap on a plane and realize you've only been asleep for 15 minutes or so. so now not only do you have the rest of the flight to go still but you're also just vaguely grouchy and your neck is stiff. and actually in typing this out I'm realizing that's what's wrong with this place. it's an airport restaurant. which is fine under different circumstances. but this is a restaurant restaurant. so like why would you want that. anyways everyone who helped us was super nice, i will never disparage a service worker. but everything else was just strange. food was mediocre, menu was boring, and there was a dj which is a strange choice for an empty dining room in a hotel lobby. if you're looking for last minute spot for brunch with in-laws you hate this is it. read more

What a delightful restaurant and bar! The masa dishes are amazing made from corn from Mexico. The mushroom ragout tamale is simply stunning. What a gem! This isn't your typical Tex-mex or cal-mex spot, it is the modern Mexicana cuisine done right. I am so glad I took a chance with this restaurant and the bartend was kind enough to walk me through the menu.
