They are understaffed and try to upsell everything. I needed an eye exam, and that went well, but I just wanted just one new lens for the eye I had surgery on. They refused, saying I needed both lenses. I would have sprung for progressive bifocals, but I figured if I had to buy both lenses, I'd go with non-progressive to lessen my chances of falling. They quoted me 7-10 days for my glasses to come back. I didn't hear from them on Day Ten, so I called. My call rolled to the eye exam phone. I called the next day, and they told me my glasses had *just* come in. If it's 11 days, just tell me it's going to be 11 days. They are in my least favorite shopping center, so I try to avoid going there. Had I known it was going to take 11 days and cost $$$, I would have just bought a new pair of glasses at the same online retailer I bought the last pair from. That would have been considerably cheaper and wouldn't have involved driving at all. read more

I have been buying my glasses from for eyes for the past 18 years due to the affectionate care they afford. I walked in last week to notice that the place has been upgraded. I was welcomed by Zoe, who is courteous, prompt, and knowledgeable to assist me to order my prescription glasses. My family and I, are so grateful to your merited customer service. Vicky. read more

I had a 1:00appt on Sunday. I waited about 30 minutes before I was called to have the prescreening completed. Then had to wait another 45 minutes to have the actual eye exam. They are using these virtual doctors and you have to waiting until one is available. I waited about 20-30 minutes once called in the room for the first virtual doctor. That exam (reading) took about 6-8 minutes. Then I had to wait on a second virtual doctor. This wait was about 20-30 minutes. He more or less reviewed everything and finally wrote out a prescription and summarized your overall eye health. He told me he would send /print my prescription out (this took another 30 minutes). I had to ask for my prescription. I did not leave there until about 4 o'clock. read more

Today I visited the eye doctor after several years away. I encountered 2 employees(Alejandro and Ken) that gave me patience, and superior customer service. They worked with me to find the best cost effective way in using my insurance and out of pocket payment expense. I had numerous questions which they answered me effectively. I stayed after closing and they still exhibited patience. unfortunately with the questions and going back and forth time ran out in processing my glasses. ill be going back with my daughter tomorrow to get her glasses and my glasee. I did get my contacts. II've been wearing contacts and glasses for closer to 50 years. I'm a very picky and sometimes hard to please customer but today I was pleasantly surprised that i encountered 2 superb employees that made me know for a fact that as long as they are employed at this location I will be bringing back my business to that location And encouraging my friends and family to bring their business to ken and Alejandro. Thank you For Eyes for these amazing employees! read more

Just recently visited for new contacts and a new pair of glasses, both which were long overdue! I loved everyone's friendly nature and willingness to help, especially one woman, Kimberly! My glasses were ready within 24 hours of being ordered. (Pretty unbelievable, huh?) I was also able to go home with contacts same day. Bottomline, usually any typeof optometry visit is a pain in the behind but this location just gets it right! If you're in Montgomery County or even DC...save your time/energy and come to this location! Ask for Kimberly too! read more

For Eyes - My new glasses!!! On my way to pick them up tomorrow! - Eyewear & Opticians Near Me - Silver Spring, Maryland

From the phone call from Jesse to confirm our appointment to the help from Olivia and Kayla picking out our frames and taking care of the prescription. My daughter and I had a fabulous experience at this For Eyes location. Dr. Anthony Kouchak and his staff took excellent care of us. Dr. Kouchak even realized that my old persciption wasn't correct and is fixing it for me. Both of us are incredibly happy with our new frames and we can't wait until they are ready. If you need an eye exam or new glasses go to this location. They could t be nicer to help you out!! read more

Came into this store just to pick up my pair of glasses that another store ordered me. I got the call that my glasses were ready for pick up. Once I got to the location and went inside it was only 1 person working. I was not greeted when I came in the door. I was just looked at like an alien. Anyways I and another person who walked in after me and was also not greeted stood there for a good 10 minutes before we were acknowledged. I did not feel welcomed at this location as I did the in the other one. I will not return to this location. Also it's a very small store so expect the selection to be minimum. read more

The Best Experience EVER!!!!! If anyone is in need of glasses I highly recommend you call My EYES Optical in Briggs Chaney and ask for Kim... I called with an emergency Friday, September 18th and I was greeted by a very pleasant voice who was friendly, professional and extremely helpful. Miss. Kim advised me of my options and said to come in on Sunday... Well, today is Sunday and I was here at noon and greeted by the same friendly knowable person.. She reviewed my benefits and by my surprise I was able to upgrade my current glasses only leaving me my co-pay. She explained to me in detail what was covered, which I don't ever recall happening the first time I purchased glasses. Along with Kim the other assistant Annie helped me choose new glass wear options for myself and my daughter.... Today's experience was well worth it and I will be back next year for my annual eye exam as long as Annie is here... Way to go FOR EYES you hired a keeper who represents your company is the best way imaginably. Thank you for everything !!!! read more

For Eyes - America's Team - Eyewear & Opticians Near Me - Silver Spring, Maryland

My review is only based on my experience purchasing prescription glasses from this store, not the actual eye exam part. I live in the area, about 5 minutes up the road, so despite the fact that the Briggs Chaney shopping center is a pretty shabby (in nice terms) area, the convinence was why I decided to come browse their selection. I went to the I Care Doctor in Cloverly, MD for my actual eye exam but couldn't find any pair of glasses that I would like enough to spend so much money on (they have a small selection.) I went to For Eyes at 5 p.m. on Saturday and they close at 6. Even though it was close to closing time and looking for glasses always takes a while the 2 employees who were working were both really nice and helpful. They didn't rush me like most places usually do and they didn't try to sell me unneccessary add-ons. They let me browse in peace without giving me the evil side eye and had no problem giving their input when asked which is a welcome relief considering most places like to chime in their opinions when no one really cares. In my rush to make it to the store before closing I had forgotten both my prescription and my insurance card, but Khoa (the assistant manager) said he could hold the 3 pairs of glasses I was deciding between until the next day (Sunday.) The store even stayed open for about another 30 minutes because another customer and myself had no finished browsing. I can't remember all the brands that the store had but I know they had an exceptional amount of Candies which is my personal favorite brand for eye glasses (like 20+ pairs) and other brands like converse and elizabeth arden. True to my word with my insurance card and prescription card in hand and my aunt in tow, I went to the store on Sunday. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, this place has awesome hours. I don't know about the weekdays but they were open 12-5 on Sunday which was great for me. Khoa helped me and my aunt figure out the cost of each pair of glasses with and without insurance and even helped me pick which I looked best. I was informed of a special they had going on the previous day and again on Sunday that was the equivelent to a 'buy 1, get one 1/2 off' deal. After I elminated one pair, I decided to get both because they were both really awesome and I couldn't decide. The total was $366 for 2 pairs of Candies classes that had an original frame cost (frame only, lens is extra) of $129 each. What was really cool though was that my insurance still covered $80 of the $297 final price which brought my first pair cost to $217. After that the second pair was $148. I got measured for the fit and was even allowed to pay with two methods since I didn't have enough cash on me. I was told the glasses will be ready within 5-7 business days which from my experience is pretty fast compared to the standard 2 weeks that I have heard in the past. Oh and the day before I had also heard the other sales associate tell a woman that they were going to rush her order for her. I was informed of their return policies - 30 days to return, 90 days to exchange lenses if the prescription was wrong at NO COST meaning if you get a re-exam and the prescription is different they will redo the lenses for free, and the best of all free replacement for any breaks within a year. I called back today because I was curious about the anti-reflective lenses and if that was something I should get since I spend a lot of time on computers at work. I was also concerned about the eye exam I had gotten because the prescription seemed to be severely different from that of the one I had a year and some months ago. I spoke to Khoa again - I read off the previous prescription to him and he compared it to my new one without me having to even give him the numbers (it must have been in the computer). He then reassured me that is was nothing to be concerned about and wasn't as big of a jump as I had previously thought. While I had him on the phone I also asked him about the anti-reflective and anti-scratch lenses which he told me come included in every eyeglass package they do at For Eyes for no additional cost because it betters the lenses and functionality of the glasses as a whole. I was really happy about that because the other place in Cloverly was trying to push those extras on me for additional costs. Overall, I was pleasantly suprised by the For Eyes of Briggs Chaney. Don't let the ghetto shopping center stop you! They have a huge selection, good store policies, and knowledgable staff who actually don't mind helping you. read more

Horrible Customer Service!! The ladies here have NO value for time. A job that could be done in 30 mins took them 1.5hrs. The worst experience I've had in a long time with so much competition around! I purchased glasses at this location about a year ago; this is the 2nd time I brought one pair back because the lens has fallen out. This time I needed attention on both pair. The gentlemen I happen to speak with was rude and seem to only want to charge me for everything. All I wanted was the lens put back in and the wire tightened. At this point, I was done, I ask for a copy of my prescription and was told no, by another employee, butting into the conversation and to call my doctor. Not sure if this location is independently owned, franchise but one thing for sure I will NEVER patronize or refer anyone to this company, period. Please learn to speak with respect to your customers and one last thing: TO MUCH COMPEPETITION AND SOCIAL MEDIA TO DISRESPECT AND ANGER ONE CUSTOMER. Cathy Sauls read more

I had a wonderful thorough eye exam at this location. Actually the prescription I was wearing for years has been incorrect, hence, why I had fatigue and eye strain. It was interesting to see the improvement with the new contact lenses when the Optometrist showed me the difference. They give a free one month trial pair of lenses, the contact exam was very reasonable and they run your insurance anyway just in case you have a discount on your policy. I added the extra test $20, for the photographic retina to see if I had any nerve damage. I will definitely be returning for my next exam and highly recommend this place!! read more

Terrible. They were very helpful at the outset getting me to pick glasses and pay but after that was when the problems began. My order didn't come in on time, and then they never called me to pick up and lied and said they did. And then when I went to pick up my glasses, they had the prescription all messed up (The wrong prescription in my glasses !) and had to completely redo the order. It has been six weeks and I still don't have glasses! INCOMPETENT! It's cheap but totally not worth it. read more

While only one person was available to help with glasses and there were quite a few customers, Allison never lost her composure or her kindness. She joyfully welcomed everyone in the store. Allison even apologized for the wait, offered us some water while we waited and kept her cool the entire time. Once it was my turn, she afforded me every coupon and discount available to me. When she told me I could get my stylish purple glasses at such a good price, I started to tear up. I start to tell her I've been out of work and had to replace my son's glasses first. I waited as long as I could but really needed new lenses years ago. Allison came around the counter and hugged me. Said she was so glad she could help me out. I am enjoying the new glasses and counting my blessings. Thank you Allison and For Eyes. read more

I have to first start by saying I have been brining my children to this location for almost six years without one single issue. In fact, the people that worked at this location were probably the reason I remained such a loyal customer. Always friendly and eager to please... Unfortunately my experience this time around has fallen way short of pleasant, and way beyond horrifying. It began with my daughter needing her glasses repaired. For whatever reason, the store was unable to accommodate us, and therefore had us go through the warranty process. We actually were pleased with this option because her glasses, which were of the Donald Trump brand, constantly gave her issues. We opted to upgrade her frames to RayBan, and paid an addition $45 to do so. We finalized everything with the store on March 11, 2014 with the assistance of one of the younger male clerks. Four days later on March 15, 2014, I received a call from a woman by the name of Kimberly who stated we were due a refund. I didn't think much of it, and figured I would ask whatever questions when I went to retrieve my daughters glasses. I never made it to the store on the 15th, so I decided to drop in today to get the refund and also check on the status of the glasses. I was feeling under the weather, so I sent my daughter in to the store to get the refund and check on her glasses. When she returned she stated the lady in the store told her "no, she's not just gonna give it to [her]" and sent her to get me. I decided to call the store to explain the situation, but was met with such hostility that I figured going inside the store was necessary. Once I got into the store I was greeted by a very rude and abrasive manager by the name of Kimberly. She went on to say that she was canceling my daughters order because we were not eligible for a warranty. I was puzzled... Why on earth would you cancel my daughters order?! If there was a discrepancy in terms of payment, it's not an issue to pay whatever the difference was. Why would the procedure be to cancel our order and refund our payment?! It just made no sense. Not to mention her communication skills were horrific... Horrific to the point of her calling me a profane name. I was extremely frustrated with her and the situation. I refused to leave the store until someone explained why I could not just pay the difference for my daughters glasses, and instead of understanding how completely ridiculous her reasoning was, she called local authorities to have me removed from the store. I I immediately got on the phone with the district manager, Dennis Barr. After a short conversation with Dennis, I returned to the store to get the glasses we ordered. Which had in fact been in the store the entire time. The manager Kimberly refused to provide me her last name; the employees refused to give me her name. They also refused to provide me with the DM information. It was truly just a NIGHTMARE!!!! THE WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. Poor poor poor customer service, and just complete ncompetence. read more

I had call ahead to get some information on the store, and I spoke to a Rep. named Katrina. She could not have been more helpful and enthusiastic. A couple of weeks went by and I had decided to get new glasses. I had researched other stores that had a better selection but I felt I would only be right to go to For Eyes because of Katrina's great help earlier. Kimberly and Sean both have done a great job in assisting me with my sunglass order. After calling the store for assistance with an order, Kimberly did an inquiry and called me back very quickly to follow up with the information. I went to the store, where she helped me to figure out how to track down a style number of a particular sunglass style of Ray Ban and provided me with additional options within the store to consider. Kimberly has such a friendly and professional manner, and it just further increased my positive feelings toward buying my glasses at this For Eyes location (where I've always been happy with my experiences). This For Eyes location is highly recommended by me, and I only write a positive review for places that really stand out! Thank you Kimberly for being such an outstanding representative at For Eyes Optical! After I received my sunglasses, there was a problem with fit that could not be adjusted. Sean was very helpful by ordering a smaller version of the frame for me to try before ordering to ensure the fit would work for me. Once it came in, I tried it and knew it would work, Sean processed the exchange and placed the new order, including helping to determine how to get the needed tint on the lenses that I wanted. This place is great! The Briggs Chaney shopping center is not a place I would come to except when I needed something quickly as they are convenient to my house. We went to another For Eyes, and liked the store, but this one was so close. We were greeted by Carmen when we entered, and things got better from there. She was pleasant, fun to talk to, very professional and competent. We were examined by Dr. Klasman, and were very impressed with him. The glasses were done in about a week, but the prescription didn't work for us, so we had to have them redone. Again, Carmen took care of us in a very pleasant way, ensuring she had all the right information, and resubmitted our glasses to be redone. There was a sale on, so quality, designer frames, lens with all the extras were very reasonably priced. We are very happy with our experience at For Eyes in Silver Spring and will recommend them to our friends. Great job, Carmen! read more

Very Friendly Staff. I went to For Eyes due to needing to have an eye exam since it had been a few years and my glasses were old. He even continued to work with me and show patience after my wife, who lives in a different state for work, would not let me purchase anything at that time. He even continued to education me and give suggestions on types of frames and lens after he found out i wasnt going to purchase anything. Dr klasman is the absolute BEST. I have been coming to see him since he started there. Before him was also a wonderful doctor, retired army or navy. But I think I have been seeing Dr klasman for at leat 10 years now. I used to live in the area but for the last 6 years drive from Frederick MD just to see him. He is VERY thorough, up to date, kind and goes so out of his way to ensure his patients get the best care. I have been wearing bifocal contacts since they were brought to market. They are VERY tricky to get your vision correct for both near and far sightedness. He worked with me dillegently for many visits to get it just right. The initial onset of ordering was easy. Leslie was very helpful. However when I went to pick up glasses I was told I was too late. We got to the door at 6:58pm and was standing at the locked door while they staff looked at me and talked casually to a UPS guy. Occasionally looking and laughing while my family and I was trying to communicate through the glass. Once the staff exited at 7:00pm they proceed to say they were closed. I explained we were simply picking up glasses and that we would be on travel and would not be able to get them anytime soon. One of the staff simply walked away and yelled 'Bye Leslie' while walking to the parking lot. Leslie did try to explain their system was down and for some reason the alarm could not be reset. However instead of staring at me for 2-3 minutes through the glass door while you casually talked to the UPS guy, a customer could have gotten her glasses. Highly disappointed at the customer service. The doctor and his assistant are nice but the retail staff really need better training. I can at least give Leslie kudos for trying at the end to be professional. read more
