Sometimes they make me happy, and sometimes they make me a little sad--but overall, they keep me coming back. The rasta pasta is really good and not spicy. It becomes perfectly creamy once you mix in the sauce from the bottom. I also love that you can choose just oxtail, just curry chicken, or whatever you're in the mood for--it definitely helps with my indecisiveness. Their desserts are great too; I just wish they'd have my cravings in stock when those cravings hit. But one thing I can always count on is freshness. Everything I order is consistently delicious.

I'll start by saying food here is never bad and the drinks are always strong when i've been. This time around I had jerk chicken rasta pasta the chicken had good spice and the pasta was good. Service was also relatively quick. In terms of ambiance, I understand they've been here for years I do think they could use with an update to tables and seating arrangements.

I ordered an oxtail roti and its by far the nastiest roti I have ever had in my life. It's packed with grease oozing out of every place you can imagine. I'm so disappointed in Footprints With this one.

On 8/01/2025 I ordered Oxtail Rasta Pasta & Codfish cakes. The cod fish cakes weren't cooked completely also the oxtails weren't cooked down they were tough. Also the amount of oil in the platter was crazy smh not to mention the food got me sick I was throwing up 15 minutes after eating it. Never eating from this location again.

I drive all the way from Staten Island to get there food when I'm missing home. The oxtail flatbread is my favorite. The Caribbean soups are good as well! My son loves the Mac and cheese. We always stop by when we are in Brooklyn. Staff are friendly.

Footprints always has good food. The service is just very poor. Had to flag down the waiter. They always have an attitude too.

I always forget to review my regular spots . I dont work far from here so about once a week we grab lunch here . The drinks are always good - be careful because you can definitely get alittle too tipsy here to return to work if you're not . The food is up and down . Some days it's absolutely delicious , others is simply your local caribbean restaurant. We're familiar faces so the service is always nice but in the beginning they were not as nice . I think its a New York caribbean thing to be rude . Anyway this day I decided to order the curry goat , I wanted to be exotic so I ordered rice and peas instead of white rice. Luckily it was a good day . The goat was tender and yummy ! If you've never been here , you must be living under a rock lol . They are known for their rasta pasta . I usually get the escovitch fish tenders with extra onions and carrots along with whatever else my stomach can hold lol . The food is good enough to visit weekly . Just not consistent . Here are a few pics

Food is amazing here and the drinks are too. This is my favorite location. Today (Sunday) it was pretty empty. So the service was fast and very quiet inside.

01/20/23: Due to issues at initial restaurant we ended up at footprints. It's been a minute since I've been physically. Upon arrival very busy, greeted warmly by the hostess, but we spotted a booth in the back and bingo we were seated. Our server came over introduced herself and we were ready to order. Drinks: rum punch.. it's not as red as it used to be it tastes a bit different but it was still yummy. You definitely tasted the Wray n Nephew. Appetizers Cod fish cakes: although yummy it was like 95% dough and a hint of salt fish Escovich wings: we were curious as escovich is synonymous with fish. But it was ok. Wings were good but it was basically the carrots and onions and peppers on atop the wings Mains Rasta Pasta with oxtail. I was hungry so I wasn't going to deviate from my norm. As usual pasta on point and oxtail was good it felt like it could be cooked a bit more not the fall off the bone I'm used to. Also ordered a side of bammy..steamed. It was ok, in the past it was amazing and I felt I had more than 3 pieces. We wanted the cheesecake for dessert but they were out. As they are having their weekend special for their 22 year anniversary two Rasta pasta dishes for $22 we took a set to go. All in all great dinner had by all. Their portions as large so 2 of us ended up with leftovers for home. Another good footprints meal. My friends ordered the Rasta pasta with king fish and shrimp and Cajun chicken n shrimp with rice and peas. All enjoyed meal.

It was sort of an odd time so the spacious restaurant wasn't very busy. We studied the menu for too long and after much deliberation, here's what we ordered, in order of spice level: - Oxtail ($35): Not spicy, super flavorful, "Trimmed and sliced chunks of oxtail seasoned freely with fresh spices and simmered to tender perfection." - Curry goat ($29): Mildly spicy, "Goat meat marinated and cooked in curry spices and herbs makes this an exotic dish." - Jerk chicken ($20): Apparently incredibly spicy so I steered clear of it, "A Jamaican delight. Spicy, delicious chicken baked with this unique combination of spices from the island." The dishes I could handle were excellent, with no drop of sauce left unmopped. On the sides front, the rice and beans, roti, steamed vegetables, and plantains were all tasty. The entree sizes were hearty. Our server seemed like a cool dude: easygoing with a sense of humor. It was kind of chilly in the restaurant, not sure if we were in a warmth dead zone or what. The bathroom was frog-themed which was a cute touch!

What's to cheer - Nice not to too sweet homemade rum punch - Solid, flavorful oxtail. Very island spiced and cooked well - Goat was also really strong - Reasonable prices - service with personality What's to jeer - they were out of the jerk chicken unfortunately which I really wanted to try - place is pretty low key and not swimming with ambience

I discovered Kokomo because I knew I wanted our wedding celebration to be in Williamsburg -- a neighborhood that holds so many memories for me growing up in the Bronx and exploring the city as a kid. We flew in from Los Angeles and truly made it a full wedding week experience. I planned the wedding myself, so I had been communicating with Joel for months leading up to the event. We reserved the Champagne Room, which felt like its own beautiful oasis. As a Jamaican-American woman, it meant so much to know my disabled mother would feel culturally comfortable, welcomed, and safe in the space and with the food. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, attentive, and calming. Our server especially helped ease my nerves while we were finalizing seating and guest details, and after that, I genuinely did not have to worry about a thing. And the food? Absolutely incredible. Truly perfection. As a vegan, it meant so much to fully enjoy every part of my wedding meal without compromise. The rum punch was fantastic, our guests loved the open bar package, and the entire evening flowed so seamlessly. The aesthetic is pure island luxury -- elevated, warm, vibrant, and beautiful. The communication from the owners and management team was excellent throughout the entire process, and I even had the chance to finally meet Joel at the end of the night after months of planning together, which was such a lovely touch. I was also able to personally thank the chefs. We even accidentally left my bouquet behind, and the team kindly helped us retrieve it the next day. Kokomo NYC is officially a staple in our family now. I already know we will celebrate future milestones there and visit often whenever we are back in New York. It makes me proud to support a Black Caribbean-owned business that creates such meaningful experiences with so much care and excellence. I truly cannot imagine our wedding without Kokomo, and I'm so grateful they were part of our story. : @lensofher
