Went to pick up the mini split remote at True Value Hardware around 3:30pm and cashier at the register says Emily and Sebastian are not in on the weekend and are not picking up their phones and she doesn't know where the remote is. She barely looked in the back and let 2 people cut me in line and didn't seem like she wanted to help . Very rude service read more

Absolutely LOVE this home center! We came here after we couldn't find an adapter for our sprinkler system. Guess what they had & more. We walk the aisles and found so much neat stuff from gardening to camping to tools & hardware. The prices are reasonable & quality is excellent. The staff were very friendly and welcoming from the entry to checkout. I would definitely recommend this home center for all your do it yourself wants & needs. I came here with my mom to look for some type of supplies for her outdoor project but can I just say probably the best customer service not just from one employees but literally every person I encountered was super kind and sweet. Literally the person who helped us knew exactly where the things we needed were. Even after she helped us, another person came and asked if we needed help. They weren't pushy, just simply kind and sweet! I wish them nothing but the best and I'm truly grateful to have such kind people who help my mom and I. The selection was amazing and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the prices were affordable and even better because the decorations we bought were 35% off! They have such a great selection. And they even had free hand sanitizer to take? I thought it was mistake but the cashier was like please take more than one. My family and friends have been loyal customers of our local hardware store. I went into foothill builders mart in Fontana on May 25, 2026 at 1:40 pm I've been a loyal customer before foothill builders once upon a time Ace and True value but unfortunately this relationship has come to an end. I went into foothill builders mart to buy a nut and washer for my bathroom sink I noticed a employee walking up the aisle towards me I said excuse me could you please help me find this. I showed him my old nut and washer for my bathroom sink he walked me over to the appropriate location but there was several different sizes and I didn't know which size was mine I asked Tony what size is my nut and washer for my bathroom sink at that same time I asked him the phone rang he left me talking to myself and quickly picked up the phone then he proceeded to helping the person on the phone I waited for Tony he finally came back after 5 minutes no no not to help me but to continue to help the person on the phone I just stood there finally went over to Tony excuse me you were helping me first I guess another employee heard me and proceeded to help me it took the employee a minute to help me. I looked over at Tony he was still talking to the person on the phone. I spoke to manager Geo about this problem it might not seem like a big deal but to me it's all about respect and building that customer relationship. I know Foothill builders mart relies on employees respecting the customers for a brighter successful future. I do not recommend Foothill Builders Mart. read more

Everytime we come here everyone is super helpful except this guy Tony. Man I get some days are bad days, but this guy never ever puts the customer first. When you walk in his area he doesn't even acknowledge you or ask if you need help ... we today we even witnessed a gentleman ask him for help and he said to give him a minute and he would be there.... dude, the customer is paying your bills & keeping your business open. Tony is like this EVERYTIME we come here, he has never been pleasant. If you are unhappy don't come to work or change your job so they can hire talent that actually wants a job & is grateful to come to work everyday. Especially during these hard times. Been coming to this store for many years, and have always enjoyed the customer service until recently. I went to go buy some flowers for my mother's graveside this past Friday, and the lady that's in there was actually smoking a cigarette. She not only scared me by popping up from squatting on the ground, but was also very rude to me when I asked for a specific plant. I was going to be a Karen and go have a word with the manager, but I was so disappointed in the way she responded I just left. I highly doubt I'll ever purchase anything from the garden area here. read more

I been coming to this store for many years, since 1994 and what relief of fresh air when compare to other major stores, where the employees run away from you because customer service is at the bottom of their jobs. I went into a Foothill Builders Mart last Sunday to get some screens repaired for my windows. I dropped them off around 12:00 PM and was told they would be ready. By Wednesday I said no problem. I understand they're busy I called on Wednesday to see about going and picking up my screens only to be told they weren't ready and wouldn't be ready until maybe Friday or Saturday because a person whom I was talking to was going to be off for the next couple of days, that didn't really sit well with me so I had to speak to the manager I felt I gave them enough time to get my window screens done within the three days. After speaking with the manager she told me she would have them ready first thing Thursday I said no problem. Showed up on Thursday picked them up just like she said was thankful that she was able to get this order expedited took them home only to find out, they did not fit my windows. I took the screens that I needed to be replaced to them so they can make the exact size this wasn't done. I spoke to the manager again Thursday afternoon after getting them installed in my home on how to fit she assured me she would get this taken care of, I get a call on Friday morning and the screens were ready. Went to make them up on Friday and they were done right. I wish I could've talk to the manager but I got there about 5 to 10 minutes before they close which was understandable I was just hoping they would've credit me a discount considering I had to go back two different times and had a week five days for my screens when it should've taken 1 to 3 days customer staff was friendly when you got to talk to someone they had many employees on the floor but that many were very forthcoming with helping. I will give them another chance at my business hopefully I get better results read more

I'm a lifelong Fontana local, been shopping here for 30 yrs back when it was Ace hardware, always had good service until this last year. I stopped in to get some aluminum tubing and I asked the man working in that department if they had any 1'' square tubing in stock and all he would say is do you have a mask and I said no I have a medical exemption. So he brings the manager and I explained that I have a medical exemption and she acknowledged it and that was that so I kept shopping. The man in that department walks up to me and I asked again If they had 1'' tubing and he just walks away, there were maybe 3 other customers in the entire store, there wasn't any other people for him to help. I finally found what I needed on my own. I always go out of my way and pay a little more to support local small business but I'm tired of being treated rudely by cult like mask people. I had reached out to the store to see if they could fix or replace screen doors. We were told absolutely. When I got to the store with my damaged screen the gentleman behind the counter Ron offered to help fix the screen door, and see if it would work for us. He suggested if it did not we could come back and buy a new screen door from them. I was blown away. He was able to fix the screen door. I am so grateful that he took the time and was so personable. I had my car key stop working because my battery in it died. I had never had to change it before so had no idea which type of battery I needed nor how to change the battery. I took it to the store and they took my key apart, found out what battery I needed, then installed the battery into my key!! This was not an easy feat..it took some tools to get the key opened and then put back together and closed again. I would have not been able to do it without them. They spent a good 30 minutes changing my key battery out and only charged me for the battery itself which was about $6.00! Very helpful employees!! read more

I had the luck today to interact with a consummate sales clerk, a professional of the ilk to which us 70+ year olds are accustomed, but just don't see anymore. RICHARD is his name. Ask for him. I was hot and a little bit flustered about how to get what I needed for my mower. RICHARD assessed my situation and provided excellent assistance literally from start to finish. He didn't send me to an aisle and good luck. He actually helped me. I've enjoyed Home Depot and Lowes for decades, but Builders Mart is my new go to when I know I'm gonna need help. HUGE shout out to Ron today, who helped get my screen correctly trimmed so I could put in back in my window! I'd picked up the first corrected screen earlier this morning, brought it home and it still wasn't right. Immediately I took it back, explaining what was wrong. In less than 10 minutes, he had it replaced. Brought it home and IT WORKED!! Nefarious behavior and practices! Please pay attention to reviews! My mistake was that I read those reviews and thought that it was an isolated incident and this could never happen to me. What makes me different? I have lived in the Fontana Area for more than thirty years and have always made my home improvement purchases at this location. I remember when it was also called Ace Hardware and the service was superb. Recently I had screens door repairs and was given a quote and a invoice to pay prior to receiving the completed work. They stated that it was a three day turnaround before the doors were completed and on May 23, 2019 I made that cash payment and left. On May 28th I tried to pickup my finished product...it was stated that an error was made by their clerk and I needed to pay $15.00 more to receive my product. This didn't even sound fair. You ouoted me your price and I paid exactly what you told me and now you want to re-negotiate..so of course I cancelled my order an received a refund. No one should be high jacked after a purchase has been negotiated and completed... I call that deceptive and deceitful Practices...
