I like this place because it's not Home Depot or Lowes. The help is friendly and willing to help... imagine that. I bought a bunch of quality 15 gallon fruit trees on sale here a few years ago, as well as a truck load of railroad ties for a decent price. Their mid-price interior paint is of good quality and can currently be seen on display all over my kitchen cupboards and walls. They have an odd thing they do when you want something that they normally keep in locked display cabinets, such as padlocks and circuit breakers. After you hunt someone down to unlock the cabinet, the employee will put it inside a locking bank cash bag, which you're then supposed to present at the check stand. I assume the cash bag is set up to sound an alarm if you try to remove it from the store, or maybe it explodes and kills you for all I know. I guess they've had a problem with shrinkage here. read more

I came here because I was giving my cat condo a make over and broke one of the posts. Johnny, in hardware, was so amazing and helpful. Let me start by saying I went to another hardware store first and they told me the parts I needed were car parts.... and sent me to AutoZone. The AutoZone guy laughed at me and sent me here. This place took so much time helping me and came up with a solution to my problem. They also picked out all the pieces I pieces I needed to fix it and have me perfect and clear instructions on what to do. This place is great and I don't think I'll go anywhere else. Excellent customer service!! The store manager, Cliff, went out of his way to help us the day we went and the following day was so helpful and understanding when we needed to do an exchange. He literally blew up multiple "blow-ups" and took down a display blow up just se we could have the one we wanted even though there were others left to buy. Their team members seem happy to be at work and were also very kind and helpful. read more

I like this place, the employees are knowledgeable and very helpful. Theres also a lot of them, I don't have to walk the entire store to hunt down one employee who has people already waiting to talk to him. They are constantly walking around and easy to find. I'm a big fan of good customer service and this place holds up to my picky expectations. They always seem to have whatever I need even though it is smaller than the huge chain stores. There is a nice open parking lot with plenty of spaces and no fancy islands to drive all around. A couple times a year they have a great coupon sale, $40 off $100 or $100 off $200 purchases (thats excellent!). Whenever I get those coupons in the mail I go over there and stock up on paint and everything I think I'll need for new home improvement projects. Everything about this place is awesome except the dude who works in the lumber department, I had to give it 4 stars because he is weird and doesn't measure right. Recently I purchased a home in the area and my husband on Wednesday morning, June 2, sent me to purchase some silicone caulking for the kitchen sink. I went into the store and it was neat and clean and I was impressed, I could not find my way to the item I needed. I noticed a sales associate standing in in the middle of the isle. I asked him where I could find the item I was looking for and all he did was point his finger to the isle where the item was located he did not even speak to me. No further assistance as I was not aware of so many brands, and searching for the right kind of silicone for sinks. No further direction was given me just the finger pointing to where the item was located. Very bad customer service I did not get his name he was tall and a little on the heavy side, the cashier was friendly but the sales associate was not accommodating at all. I hope this is not an indication of the service I will be getting in establishments from moving to this area. read more

I can't say enough great things about this Hardware store. First, the people that work there are knowledgeable. Unlike HD and Lowes where those employees just point to what you are looking for these people take you to what you need and help you with a solution to your problem. Recently I was re-plumbing for a new kitchen sink and granite top. I needed drain parts and water valves. As a pretty good DIYer I was having an issue with valves for connectors from valve to faucet. I was given new valves, Shark Bite quick connects and emery cloth. Went home fixed the connection. I wish I could remember the gal's name that helped me out. Fantastic idea she gave me, problem solved. If you want to run to HD and Lowes because you think they are cheaper, you are waisting your time. Go to a store that knows how to serve you. Next They service lawn mowers. I recently pulled a lawn mower out of storage where it sat for 3 years. Richard installed a new carbuerator and gave it a full service. All I want is my mower to run. He did it, and it's done right and runs perfect, starts on first pull. Sunday I dropped off a second lawn mower from my rental property. Problem was the tenant put two-stroke fuel in the tank and screwed it up. Richard called me today and said he fixed the mower, he cleaned out carb, flushed fuel, changed the plug and oil. They did not rip me off or tell me I needed something I did not. I appreciate their honesty and how they strive to serve the customer. I highly recommend this store to anyone in the surrounding area. We should support small business as well. read more

The customer service here is AMAZING!!! I showed up at 7am forgetting it was Saturday and they don't open until 8am. Cliff is awesome and let me in and helped me find what I was looking for. I really enjoy coming here more than the big box stores. I buy a lot of lumber since I make wood signs and Richard is truly so very helpful and kind. The whole staff is awesome. The Vehicle Dealership where I maintain employment is located in Fontana, CA, and it shares a vendor account with the Foothill True Value Hardware business. During this pandemic their ability to fulfill the needs of their customers is represented proudly, and the city of Fontana,CA should be proud proud of them for taking care of their local residents, and the customers of the business! The staff at this store is a talented group of individuals. Their customer service, and their knowledge of products is superb and is fantastic in comparison to other businesses I have seen. Wyatt, Bill, Lucy, Jeff that runs the paneling department, tony in paint, Kelly, the guys that work the gates and the yard, the ladies that cashier have all been great and I do already recommend this business to others after my great experiences with this business, and I have even handed out their business cards to people I know already. I didn't realize Fontana had a TVH- until I googled something we needed for DIY Home project. We are complete amateurs and really have no idea what we're doing, (or getting into).. Our project came to an abrupt halt, and after calling hardware stores at random from a google search, we were quickly running out of resources for answers and needed supplies to complete our project. Just as we were about ready to give up, we called TVH and explained our plight to the manager on the phone- We were surprised when his response was not like the others we had called. He didn't say no. We don't have that, or can't do that. Instead, he was very considerate and asked thoughtful questions, even beyond, "what are you trying to do?".. Unable to intelligently answer his questions as my husband had the plans.. He offered to have us come in and take a look and see what they could do to help us troubleshoot. Now that's customer service. In a situation where he could've easily just said "no", like HD or Lowes, he took on an approach of let's see how we can make this work for you. This place is called " do it best " or some thing like that now. Looks like they are days from going bankrupt, but they been looking like that for years. They used to be ACE hardware back in the day, now they carry mainly china made products, one part of the store looks like a 99¢ store. The tools that you can find at Home Depot or lowes they also carry but for about 25% more expensive. The good think about this store is that the sales people know their stuff, so they have good advice on what ever project you got going read more

Employees there are very helpful. They serviced on my chainsaw under warranty that I bought somewhere else without a problem and carefully provided me information I need to keep the saw running. The store has a gated parking lot and the saleperson does not rush you when you ask a question. Another interesting thing about their employees is they all seem to know everybody else. I been coming to this mom&pop store for a few years now and love it, but today was not the same as many of my visits. Today was like a normal day everyone was friendly, the cashiers greeted me when I come in. I receive help from a gentlemen and went on my way to the cashiers. It was a busy day. Waiting in lane, I witness a female employee at the customer service center getting yelled at by a manager (I think he was the manager). I couldn't believe my eyes, I was so baffled. To see him go off on this poor girl in front of customers like that. It's not right to discipline any employee in that manner. As a fellow manager I would pull the employee to the side and discipline them in a different tone, away from customer or other employees. I hope this girl received an apology from this guy. Even if it was a hectic day, people should be treated with respect! read more

I have been shopping at Ace Fontana for over 25 years, and made multiple purchases. On this particular purchase of $368.04 I had a will call and did not pick up items from the yard. I went last week with the receipt for a refund and was told that I already got the items. ????????. They did nothing to resolve the problem and told me basically I was a liar. The yard guy by the name of Kevin looked me in the face and lied that the items were picked up. I told the Manger that he was stealing form the company and he is a liar. Watch out for Kevin and It is not worth shopping there. Go to Loews or Home Depot. read more
