I wanted to try something new and was craving menudo...I went into this restaurant thinking I would have good menudo. Unfortunately that was not the case....the menudo didn't smell good, it had a horrible smell and didn't look very appetizing. Next, I had the mexican coffee it was not that great, I've had better. This is a little restaurant which I found in Yelp. Had breakfast it was so tasty and homemade like Mom's Cooking away from home. I had lunch there while looking through the menu, I saw they do catering, We had my Mom's 70th Birthday coming up and the pricing is very reasonable. This place is a gem! Most authentic Mexican breakfast I have ever experienced at a restaurant!! (have only had breakfast here)The chilaquiles are perfect every time. Crunchy not swimming in canned enchilada/tomato sauce like in most spots...and spicy! Be warned, when she tells you que "pica", she's not playing around!! I waited about 35 minutes for what look to appear like a chorizo omelette. The refried beans we're horrible I had two slices of half potatoes which were not fully cooked and an omelette probably the size of my palm. Ordeerd a large menudo and a quema grasa juice,menudo was flavorless even after using most of the condiments on it,the actual menudo felt like it melted on the mouth as if it had been boiling for a month straight,usually it is a bit chewy but not the one here which is mainly why i disliked it,the quema grasa was allright not impressed,i had a scoop of the chilaquiles and that was pretty awesome,i would get that if i ever returned but i doubt i will,the place is tiny,maybe 6 tables for four and another 3 tables for two people,i used my check in 10% off only to have the lady tell me it was the first time anyone did that and my total came out to $37 for feeding 3 people,after all the math and stuff and with the 10% it still came out totaling around $37 again which pretty much meant i just saved a few cents -.-' read more

This place is amazing!! I had enchiladas and my husband had the machaca. The service was also friendly. The food was authentic without it being greasy and heavy. I went to this spot yesterday. The service was 5 stars. There's a lil guy that helps out there named Diego, cool kid. I liked the food a lot. Salsa was very good. I don't get the great reviews...so confused. Maybe we ordered the wrong plates. I had the chicken pozole and that was bland, even after dumping the leftover salsa. I still had to add more salt. The hominy wasn't cooked long enough, I like it when they flower and soften up. My husband ordered the New York steak...what was he thinking? I have no clue, but he did. I took my family here on Saturday for an early father's day meal. The place is small, which is fine, except they don't have ac (or it wasn't on, just fans) which is a necessity imo in any so cal business/home, especially in a restaurant. It was pretty hot that day, but it was tolerable after we settled in. The waitress was nice snd understood Spanish, but she wasn't very fluent in speaking it which is completely ok; the service just wasn't as friendly as mentioned in the reviews. There was just one other table taken the whole time we were there so I expected the service to be better and faster because they weren't as busy. The chips lasted 30 seconds before they were eaten by the 5 of us and we had to wait a while to get more. This is what disappointed me the most though: my dad ordered something to eat and drink, neither of which they had. It would have been nice to mention this while ordering, but the waitress had to come back twice to let him know they didn't have these items. Again, we were there on a Saturday, around 12:00pm so I would hope they'd have their menu items available. I ordered the huevos rancheros and the flavor was good, however it wasn't amazing and not something I would order again. I wasn't nearly full or satisfied either. My friend had the chilaquiles which he said were very good and he got full of of that. My dad ordered the chicharrones with green salsa which were very watery, but I guess he liked the dish overall. I paid $63 for the 5 of us (little brother just had a side of french toast) which seemed pretty expensive considering it's just a small family-owned business and the portions were small. I'm all for supporting small businesses, especially fellow hispanic/latin-owned businesses and restaurants, but I can get more selections and bigger portions at bigger restaurants. I was very excited to try this place because they have a lot of dishes that you don't see in other restaurants around here, but what good is it when they don't even have what you want? I understand quality and authenticity is important which were both present, however the taste just wasn't amazing. I don't see myself going back, but my parents thought it was ok and so did my friend so maybe I'll give them another chance someday. read more
