I never leave reviews, positive or negative to any company, but Foley has gone above beyond to earn my time to review them as worst company on the planet. I have been asking about fallen tiles and a busted light for a year now and was told they'd let service know. Yes, this next part does happen after the winter storm and I do realize that all pool companies are busy and parts are hard to come by, etc etc.. but don't think I'm out of line in my complaint. They sent someone out to do a pool check after the storm and charged me $85. While I appreciate being proactive, I would've preferred they ask me first. They charged an $85 fee and didn't fix anything. Their tech called me saying he was doing the check and all looked fine.... so I asked him, "What about the water feature pump that isn't running?" Oh, I'll let you know. He called back 10 minutes later saying it was a loose wire. I got home that evening and everything was working. The next day the water feature wasn't working again and hasn't since. I called them and they said they'd let service know. Either that didn't happen or service didn't care. I called again a couple weeks later - nothing. I called again the next week about some more tiles popping off - nothing. My service on 3/25 was skipped. This happened to my neighbor as well. This happed once before, but let it go. Since this was the second time, I called and told them what happened and that I didn't want to be charged for the skipped service. Was told they'd let service know and take care of it. No call back and was charged in full for the next month. I've left the broken tile in the pool next to the spa, and so far the tech cleans around it and I haven't been reached out to about it. On 4/22 I sent an email outlining my concerns and that I understood they're being busy, but I'd like a call and reason to remain a customer as I'm also in the market for a pool resurfacing and mastic repair. As of 4/28, no response so I called and let them know I wanted to cancel service. I was told service wasn't available but that she would write a note on a pink sticky and they would call me back. Friday morning 4/30 they came by to clean after missing Thursday. I took my lunch break today 4/30, to drive to their office as apparently either messages don't get delivered or they don't care. Since I have no faith in their follow through I hand wrote a note saying that service was cancelled so they could sign it. - Because if I get charged for the next month I want to show proof to the credit card company for the dispute. I walked in and the woman at the front asked what I needed. I said I need to cancel and she said she'd let someone know. I replied that I need someone to sign my paper confirming that it's been cancelled. She called someone in the back "Bryan"? maybe. She let him know and said it's been cancelled and I said, ok but someone came by this morning. She said they did it for 5/1. Ok... but no one acknowledged that fact or called me like they said they would. I told her I'd like to get my paper signed or documentation confirming. She told him and he said that they would email. I told them ok, but I'm not leaving until I receive that or someone signs. She has a disgusted but sarcastic look on her face and lets him know. "He's doing it now" I wait as she turns around on the phone and starts whispering. I'm sure bad-mouthing me so I can't hear - as I doubt they're discussing their favorite chili recipe. She finally says, ok check your email.. It comes in as "Foley Pools: CANCELLATION NOTICE!! 5/1/21" I politely thank her for time and leave. I'm disappointed at no point over the last few months that anyone has made any effort to reach out to me or return a call. I had additional business to give them for remodeling the pool - and they still didn't care. Only when I go there in person do I get results, and even then I'm not worth the time to come out and apologize or speak to me - just an email where I get yelled at through the subject line. In case they claim any of it isn't true, I have all documentation including but not limited to phone calls with dates, times, durations, and emails showing the above. I'm sure when you're about to spend $100k+ they'll be the most attentive and offer the best service. However, that's just to get you in the door and sell you. Save yourself the headache by taking the time to reach out to other companies. You'll thank yourself later. read more

Absolute crap company. They will take your money and run. They do not follow up any of the quality control measures and they do not care about your concerns. They only care about getting their money. Not only did they crack our patio deck, but they incorrectly installed the equipment on the outside of our fence so now it is accessible to the public. They kept pushing back timelines on installing a new fence and addressing our concerns until finally they lost the employees we were dealing with. Now the response is "they don't work here anymore so you have to pay us". We have to pay for your screw up??? And it gets worse, the equipment is starting to fail because of them not knowing how to install things correctly. All the things they messed up and now we are stuck paying the bills. We built a pool in 2020 with Foley pools and I want to break this review up into three parts. First of all design and overall quality of the pool I would give an A+. The construction process I give a C. The reason for that is that we faced several delays and very poor communication as, it appeared that they have become very busy during last year due to Covid and had some turnover of staff. The pool servicing side we've had a very pleasant experience with Simon and his crew and a date I would give them an A+. Now my overall experience, today I would recommend Foley pool I do believe the design and the quality warranted the aggravation I went through last year on the construction side. One thing to remember is, building a pool or even having work done is disruptive it is messy but you should always keep on top of your contractor and expect good communication and to understand what's going on. So for my final grade I will give Foley an a in the main reason for that is many thanks to Elijah. During construction and post construction we ran to some issues that we were having difficulty getting resolved once Elijah stepped in anything that need to be done was done immediately as promised Foley pools is extremely lucky having a person like Elijah and as long as he's there I would definitely continue to recommend their services read more

Our neighbors had a pool built by Foley earlier this year and during the process Foley somehow tied our sprinkler systems together and damaged the gravity drains between our yards. We now have standing water between our homes all the time, sprinklers buried under sod and our sprinklers run when they are not scheduled to. We have attempted to resolve this amicably with Foley for over a month now and have had no luck. We had an independent irrigation company come evaluate the drainage issue and they quoted $9K to fix it. read more

I recently had a new in ground pool build by Foley Pools and they did a terrible job of communicating about the project. I have spoken to 20 different people in the company throughout the pool constructions process. Starting with BJ who drew up the plans for the pool and recommended a funding source. Next was a female project manager, who was good, but she left the company about 1 month into construction. After she left, there were three other temporary project managers who were terrible and then left the company or got moved to another project. about two months of holding and waiting and me calling them. Another project manager, Daniel, the GM, called and said he would help complete the project. Some tasks did get completed, but I had to call and follow-up everyday to make it happen. Now it is 2 months and the final work order has not been completed and the office manager (Maria) says she cannot help me and that I should contact my project manager. Daniel is not answering his cell phone and it will not allow me to leave a message. The customer support is terrible and every part of this construction was given to contractors who showed up whenever they wanted and did not speak to me about the progress of each task. I paid about 100,000 for a basic pool and the communication and support was terrible. Do not use this company. Go with the cheapest pool bid you get and realize that you will have to be your own project manager. Better business bureau is my next step. read more

Foleys is the best. Their service is top notch. I have gotten the best customer service from the start of my pool design to pool build out completion. Kevin was our salesman. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, reliable and straight up awesome. Now my pool is maintained weekly by Foley. The service technician is very professional, and customer focus. Blake who is the service lead is always friendly, responsive, and professional. If I ever have issues, I call him and he is on it. I enjoy working with the Foley family and staff. Terrible experience. First time claimed to have fixed the pool heater but it did not work. Second time put in a new pool heater but disconnected our natural gas so we have had no hot water for 2 days and counting and can't even get a call back. Work area was left a mess with the old heater just sitting there blocking everything. read more

Do not let Foley Pools on or near your property as they will destroy it and leave it that way. Our neighbors got a pool installed and Foley has left our yard not draining properly, dead sod, missing sod holes in our yard, unlevel ground and broken wood on our fence. We have given Foley Pools many opportunities to fix the issues however they continue to give us excuses and treat us like idiots. From our first visit with their expert pool designer, Cole, we were impressed with the attention to detail, the focus on our ideas on the pool design and the impressive showroom where we could spend time to get all the finishes exactly right for our new pool. The final estimate and pool construction schedule was thorough and complete, and once the project started, Foley Pools hit all the agreed milestones. Rarely in the ~3 months of build was there not someone working on site daily to keep the pool project on schedule. Foleys Pool PM, Lance, ensured that the every step of the construction was on time and arranged for all the city inspections, which were numerous. The final result was amazing and as beautiful as the pool design concepts on the 3D CAD captured in virtual reality. And after the pool was turned on, Foley's gave us a thorough, onsite "pool school" and 3 months of weekly pool service at no charge as part of the total package. Although our project came out nice, I'm glad I was available to manage it! Our salesman quit one week into our project. Made communication a nightmare. Getting ahold of one of the Foley brothers was like pulling teeth. Although Foley did call us, and need a decision on something "right away" with out giving us any time to discuss as a family... It was rush rush rush when they needed us, but god forbid if you have a question! The man that did our patio, porch , cedar work was named Jason. He was a total jerk. Rude is a very mild way of putting it. I personally had a raised voice conversation with him, at my home, to discuss the poor quality work his men performed.... It was my fault the work was iffy, because my wife and I signed the contract , was his point. He even had the nerve to want to discuss doing our landscaping. Our patio is full of nail holes, and different color wood. Jason and his crew were awful. Our GC quit half way through the project as well... He was nice, but moved home. Said to me, his job never really worked out the way it was supposed to. So we got a new GC, Bruce. We liked Bruce. Very much. He honestly "saved" our project. When Foley delivered and installed our brand new grill, WITH USED BURNERS AND GRILL GRATES, Bruce made the calls and got us the new parts we should of had in the first place... Bruce also stayed on top of the completion of the project. Other than the CHIPPED new cement slab, in dozens of places that Foley poured for us, the nail holes and shotty work on our patio that Foley and Some guy named Jason did for us, the project came out completed. Our project was 100K, Foley was the middle of 4 bidders. If we had to do it over, Foley would never even be allowed to bid for us. Maybe if one of the Family Foleys just had enough time to return a call, or email and complete the job with some quality.....never mind, that would be a dream. read more

I wish I could back in time and stop myself from using this company. We just moved into a new home and were very excited to resurface the pool and be happy first time pool owners. It started off great. The sales guy seemed great and very knowledgable. Then the work started. They installed the wrong pebble tech surface! So they added another layer of the correct surface. The second surface was uneven. After they finished, the guy who came out to start up the pool equipment disagreed with how my pull service had setup my pumps. He cut and rewired my system. He told me that the pumps were not compatible with my system. After all his work my system was not operational. My regular pool service came back out and fixed everything. My new pumps were compatible. Foley Pools is completely incompetent and has been horrible to work with. Don't use them! read more

Since my first review almost two weeks ago, our project manager has really stepped up and is trying to get things done. There has been a lot of turn overs in the company and that has put up some delays. I am hopeful that the pool may be finished soon but the craftsmanship is still below expectations. After narrowing down two pool companies, we decided to go with Foley. After going back and forth with negotiations and design, we signed a contract with them in May, and once signed, I can honestly say it has been the worst experience ever. They over promise, under deliver, and bait and switch what you expected to be getting vs. what you actually get. If you are considering a new pool or even having one remodel, I would highly suggest you think twice about hiring Foley to do the job. Worst communication, and customer service I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Unfortunately, we are almost 3 months into the remodel and it is still not completed as of today, many small things they just will not commit to completing. They keep saying, you are on the schedule for Thursday, and Friday - the days come and go, and NO sign of anyone. The lack of Project Management and communication with this company is horrible. All the pool fittings were not only the wrong ones, but they put random colors on. For example, I agreed to have all of them dark grey, some were, some were light grey, or white, or even black. When they gutted the pool, they left existing fittings, i.e. overflow drain and cover (original black) and fountain fittings (original black), then the new tile was mortared around these, so they were not able to change them out. After complaining, they had a PM come by and try and scrape out the mortar to get the fittings off to replace, left with a mess. After tile and stone work completed there was a muddy leak into the pool from bad quality of tile/stone mortar work, existing mortar cracks not addressed or repaired after settlement. This is just a small fraction of some of the issues I have experienced with Foley, over promise and under deliver. After multiple complaints, they just do not give a crap about the quality of work or service they provide.... BEWARE and do your research with this company, my experience has been the worst... also, and added note, they remove all of their bad reviews off of Facebook, so I advise NOT to look there for reviews... I would be happy to speak with anyone reading this, as I have pictures of the BAD quality of work and a 6 page journal documenting the process. read more

We went through 4 different managers overseeing our pool construction, and coordination of building schedules is a disaster. Although they build a quality pool their subcontractors are subpar. The travertine tiles crew was incompetent and had to be called back three times. And although there was an allowance for irrigation repair Foley's has yet to connect the irrigation lines after 8 weeks of the pool being completed. We made our last payment at the beginning of August with the promise that all work would be completed in 10 days. 8 weeks later we are still waiting. In their contract they add items for repairs and promise a reimbursement at the end. They charged for landscape lighting repairs and we have no landscape lighting. We have asked repeatedly for the refund but to no avail. Foley Pools has never performed the final walk through as promised and they have not yet presented us with the final inspection approval by the city, again going on 8 weeks since last payment. Bottom line, don't sign a contract that requires final payment BEFORE all work is completed. Once they get final payment all work stops and your stuck. read more

We bought into the sales pitch of Kevin Foley " we are the most expensive because we build quality pools". So far the only quality this company has given is a headache. They gave us travertine with holes in it so big you can stick a toe in it. Had to fight for them to replace it. Then their sub contractors are awful. They messed up our tile not once but 4 times. Then spilt stuff all over our decking which had to be acid washed twice. Not to mention our decking has cracks in it already . When we asked Foley about it they say " it's from setting" we did get a second opinion on the decking and that is not what caused it . It's the poor decking that Foley put in. When we tried many times to talk to upper management including foley himself . He didn't care. When I told him I can't leave a good review right now his response " no hard feelings" then we fill the pool finally ... which we are now at week two of a full pool... we get a lot of rain. Now if the plumbing was put in right no worries .. guess what... the pool didn't drain and flooded our back yard. Only to find out the plumbing was not done properly. Next day we noticed the pool line going below the fill line .... so now there is a leak some where. We call everyone at Foley ... not one person comes to set eyes on it!! This company is a joke. The reviews are true. They only care about the money not building quality pools or standing behind their work. Run far and fast from this company. read more

We just finished our pool and pool deck renovation using Foley Pools. They were not the least expensive, (considering a quote from a lesser-known smaller company), however, they were less expensive than some of the other well-known companies out there. One of the reasons I chose Foley was because the salesman, Rick Morton, did not try to up-sell me on anything. When we asked about a water feature he suggested what turned out to be a great idea including a water feature with waterline boulders that helped transform our pool and yard from totally blah to beautiful. Rick kept the project on time, (even ahead of schedule at times), and put up with my demands, (not an easy task). He made sure that everything was done to our satisfaction right up to the end. The concrete sub-contractor was outstanding and all crews who worked in our yard spent a significant amount of time cleaning up at the end of each day. Rick Morton is as much a part of the reason I would recommend Foley Pools as the end result of the renovation. read more

The pool construction went fine & was finished before scheduled. The only issue I had during the construction phrase was a group of workers drinking beer & watching the other guys work. My main problem with Foley was the punch list. Small items such as leveling the yard, replacing sod, solving drainage problems created by the pool construction took 4 months. There was standing water that wasn't draining & the neighbors complained. After numerous letters from the HOA and Denton County I was able to convince Foley that enough was enough. Due to their lack of customer service I wouldn't use them again nor recommend Foley to others. read more

My wife and I hired Foley pools to replace the tile around the inside of the pool and front of the hot tub. The project was supposed to take 3 days but turned into a 3-month disappointment. Unfortunately we assumed that a company as large as Foley pools employed their own people to complete renovation projects. We would soon find out that this is not the case after the project started. Two guys were sub-contracted to perform the job and obviously had no experience working on projects involving pools. The first day, when they were removing the tile, they did not complete a relief cut under the tile and caused damage to the plaster. Now this had to be corrected by making a lower cut into the plaster all the way around the pool and another row of tile added to cover up this mistake to make it look even. Then they filled the gap between the tile and the plaster with some type of powdery substance that obviously would not keep water from getting behind the plaster. We had to request that plaster be used to fill in the gap. Next came the front of the hot tub and we chose stone instead of tile to be used. We were assured that the facing of our spa was big enough to accommodate the larger stone instead of the smaller stone option--after all Foley pools did come out and do all the measurements. The final result ended up with gaps in the stone, crooked lines where the stone meets up at the corners and the worst part was the beauty joint gap is 1/2" on one side and 2 1/2" on the other side. Instead of the hot tub being a beautiful focal point it is nothing short of a disappointing eyesore!!! We expressed our dissatisfaction on multiple occasions but we were told it was due to the size of stone we chose and not the workmanship of the 2 guys THEY sub-contracted! In addition, our project manager told us that one of the guys was fired because of our project!!! Bottom line---communication was poor, workmanship was poor, customer satisfaction was non-existent and the fact that we were blamed for the unsatisfactory outcome because of our choice of materials and not their choice of hiring incompetent sub-contractors are all reasons why I would NEVER recommend Foley Pools! Foley Pools took no responsibility or accountability for anything! In fact, we cancelled the decking renovation project with Foley Pools that we had scheduled for this spring---NEVER AGAIN! read more

I have had now two pools, one installed by Riverbend Sandler and another resurfaced and replastered by Foley Pools. In deciding who to hire, I chose Foley Pools. Not only were they more reasonably priced *(by far), they also seemed more interested in the end result. Rick Morton made suggestions that made sense. I was interested in BeadCrete as it contained colors and appearance I couldn't otherwise get with PebbleTech. Rick initially was opposed to the product as the glass beads often break when installed no matter how careful the installation. As I was insistent on using that product, Rick took additional steps to ensure that the installation was done properly. Since the installation over a year ago, I have had no problems. Same goes for the 6 lights that were replaced. Rick has remained in contact with me on both a personal and professional level. I have had absolutely no issues with either the installation or Foley Pools and I would definitely recommend them. read more

We used Foley Pools to build our pool this past fall and for the most part we loved working with them. We only have one complaint, which is why we are only giving three stars. I am including a detailed review of our whole experience with Foley so you can make an informed decision regarding Foley. Overall, I would recommend them to all of my friends but again, wanted others to make their own informed decision. We started researching pool companies about two years before we signed our contract with Foley. We visited MANY pools over those two years, talked to friends about their experiences with their pool companies and then met with four different pool companies - all reputable companies who have been in the Dallas area for years. We decided to go with Foley since we knew more people who had used Foley to build their pools and every one of them had a great experience. Kevin was our salesman and was wonderful during the whole process - was patient with us during the two years we were trying to decide what to do, was always available to answer questions or to meet, made any changes we requested when needed and was very easy to work with. Our plan included a pretty large pool with a spa and water features, an outdoor kitchen and a patio cover. Kevin gave us an estimate of 3 months to build everything from start to finish and he was exactly correct - it was almost three months to the day - even when we changed our patio cover plan and delayed the process by a week, the timing was still three months. Our project manager was not that great so we would just call Kevin and he would take care of whatever was needed. The pool turned out better than we even imagined. Everyone who comes into our backyard tells us it looks like a resort and we couldn't be more pleased with the exception of one issue. The deck we chose was stamped concrete - and we have a lot of decking. About three weeks after the pool was filled with water and we were able to start using the pool, we started noticing a significant crack in the decking. We of course called Foley but they said that cracks happen and there isn't anything they can do about it. We understand that cracks happen in concrete, but didn't expect a crack in the deck to happen only three weeks after the deck was laid. We now have several cracks and some go the whole length of the deck. We have been in communication with Kevin, but again, they keep telling us it's normal and there isn't anything they can do about it. They sent out the concrete guy and he told us the same thing. We could understand if the crack happened a few years after the pool was built, but it just doesn't seem right that the cracks happened three weeks after the deck was laid and Foley can't do anything about that. Even though Foley has been very quick to respond to any of our phone calls or emails, we are just not satisfied with how they are handling this situation. read more
