Would not recommend at all. Horrible service. They have one pool tech that is good and the rest were horrible and will make whatever situation your pool is in worse. If Complete waste of time and money. Don't waste your time with this company, use your hard earned money elsewhere, hell anywhere but pool referees. They have overcharged me twice, they send a past due notice on the first bill that they send. Had algae problems when they took over, which they ignored until I complained. Very hard to get someone on the phone, either to pay a bill or discuss a problem. It shouldn't take any business a week to return a phone call. They had a technician that charged for an hour's service and was here for 30 min. Lots of problems, no reason to frustrate your customers with a service that is supposed to make their lives easier. "Owner" hung up on me when I refused to pay for her mistake, overcharging me. They were very desperate for an extra 12 dollars apparently Ridiculously managed, save yourself some troubles and get service elsewhere. Note: the office staff of 2 tried to charge my cc without my permission, WHILE I was trying to get them to send me an updated bill, because they sent me an incorrect one twice, over billing me both times. I have a new credit card number, which I happily would provide for them when they provide me with a correct bill. They would know this if they didnt try to charge without my permission. This appears to be some sort of franchise operation. One of their guys is ok. The rest of the techs don't care. Their weekly service was really poor. I called multiple times to get the situation fixed. I ended up finding a small pool company. Lower cost and much more reliable. I would not recommend these guys. Find someone else. read more

They provided me with an instant quote for my pool and I got to choose from a menu of 4 service tiers. I agree with the previous review these guys charge way too much for repair. Are not good at picking your phone call and leave you hanging for days .. in my 3 months with them We felt like instead of cleaning the pool they only looked for opportunity to find repairs. This is coming from a customer who paid them $700 for pool repair. The say it's family owned but the owner will only show up once when he is supposed to give quotation. do not recommend them at all. Adding more after seeing the comments below from owner I followed up with them and waited for three days to get a reply from them on why the algae in my pool has not cleared up. They never replied also no one showed up for pool cleaning that week the pool looked really bad and we decided to discontinue the service. In an earlier instance even after being on weekly schedule they suggested me to brush the pool. Started out as a groupon deal for 2 months should have known they would try anything to get out of that and charge more for other things. They came by after my pool repair company took over a week to put together a pool filter and restore a capacitor. I had not had time to shock the pool when the pool referee serviceman showed up at my house and was still in shock that the pool repair company before had left my filter apart while I was out of town which led it to turn green in the first place. This would be the first time I've ever had to shock my pool living at this household. When the serviceman showed up to clean the pool he must have not wanted to shock the pool which could have been the utmost simple thing to do when dealing with pool problems. He called in and then they called me saying they would charge $200 for a green clean up until the water turns BLUE. I feel that because this company comes out and inspects the pool before sending out a pool guy to clean it... makes it a bit like they are taking advantage of Groupon customers. Another stupid thing they do is some kind of GoPro camera with the pool servicemen to show us if they are working effectively or such. I feel that is kind of over the top management control and too many rules and guidelines to work out as a pool company. I worked my magic with the pool and the pool is clear now. read more

I was really happy with the service here. I used a Groupon and really wanted to continue with their service plan, but was more than what I was willing to pay as other companies were slightly less. They record a time lapse video to show they cleaned. The online portal was cumbersome, but the company overall did a great job and I was pleased. read more

These guys are the best. My first call was to replace one of the pumps. Another guy tried to have me purchase a pump that was way more than what I needed for $1,000. Referees replaced same model for much less. Then a few weeks ago they cleaned my filter and cleaned pool for less than $100. They do what's needed for a very fair price. Awesome company. read more

So far I am extremely impressed with this team. I am transferring from another pool cleaning company who left my pool with broken parts and in poor condition. So far they have been top notch helping me get everything back to working order. Plus the documentation they send weekly totally rocks. I am remote, they are working on a rental property I have. I am very thankful to have found them. Update. I move to another company and am finding that the install of my freeze guard was not done as it should have been. Pool refs told me an electrician had to be hired to finish it off. I waited till the fall to get that started, vut had moved to a new company. The new company send one guy out to finish it, was able to do it all himself, and also had to redo much of the work PR had previously done. I moved because of some discrepancies that began happening and decided to use the same maintenance company as repair company my home owners insurance used. One company made it easier. But now after needing to pretty much repay in full for my freeze guard to get installed right, I felt it right to update the review. Pool Refs are ok for maintenance, but repairs less so. This company has the worst customer service and follow through that I have experienced in several years. We contacted the "office" several times about emailing the invoice to my wife and they could never get it correct. The service guy would come out and turn the system off to arrive the pool and would forget to turn it back on. I asked to speak with the owner of the company several times and after about 45 days I was able to speak to him. I don't know if he did not receive the message or he just refused to call me back. They were given multiple opportunities to correct the situation and that never happened. Would never recommend their services to anyone. read more

I've been using Pool Referees for about 4-5 months. I originally called them when one of the pool pumps went out. They came out within 24 hours and had the pump changed within an hour. I've had pumps changed on a different pool and usually the pool company charges a fortune. In this case I found it to be a fair price. At the time I was using a different weekly pool service company and generally each week the pool did not look right within a day of service. After my repair experience with Pool Referees I decided to try them on weekly service as well. I couldn't be happier now. Pool has looked clear and clean since they took over. The service guy has been nothing but professional and thorough. I get an email from them later in the day showing exactly what was done which is convenient because I am sometimes out of town when they do the service. I saw a different review that mentions the gopro being over the top. I think my last pool company was just swinging by and doing the absolute minimum each week. I've never felt the need to ask for the video and I'm sure from their perspective it's good support in case someone has a question. read more

AMAZING!!! We've used Pool Refs for over a year, and they have been phenomenal. When we first moved into our house last summer, our pool was disgusting, but they got it up to speed in no time, and for very reasonable price! Every time I've had a problem, big or small, they've come out quickly and completely diagnosed and explained the problem, regardless of whether I fixed it through them or home owner's insurance. I really could not be happier. I've referred Pool Refs out to four other separate couples and they have also been extremely pleased.
