I reached out to PoolTex after reading the reviews on Yelp. I left a voicemail, for Scott describing the issue on a Saturday and I was fully surprised that he called me back the same day! I have tried to get help from all kinds of residential services and I can't even count how many never even return a call. I was thrilled that Scott called right away and on a weekend no less! Scott and I talked through the problems with our pool pump quickly and he was able to diagnose the probable issue. Within three days, Scott was at our house with all the needed parts and replaced the pump motor and other needed parts in an hour or so. Scott even refused to take our money until he was finished. My pool motor went out today for the fifth time in 14 years! Naturally, it's one of the hottest days of the summer. Because of that, my wife convinced me to "call a guy" rather than ruin my weekend removing the old motor, buying a replacement, and then breaking my fingers along with my spirit as I fight my way into installing the replacement. I had a failure (thought it was motor) and my pool was starting to grow algae. I got another quote from someone that didn't take the time to do more then listen to what I said then quote me an amount that made my jaw drop. Great guy (sorry, don't remember his name). Called me and talked me through common problems. I was convinced that my pump was out but after a few questions, I realized it was just a capacitor and replaced it myself(I do HVAC work and had one already, otherwise would not attempt). Awesome !! I had an issue with my pool motor not coming on - tried to manually reset it - was afraid either the motor was out (Expensive $$) . Called Scott - he stayed on the phone (while he was driving to another client) to guide me thru to check - and manually operate the buttons on the control box.....having done that, and telling him about all the equipment, he advised me to check the circuit breakers, and sure enough - the circuit breakers had tripped......Problem fixed !! He could have easily told me - I will come by, take a look....charged me his service fee (whatever he charges)....but no, honest help on the phone for free.....He has a customer for life now - anything goes wrong with my pool - I am calling him. read more

I hate calling service companies due to all the trip fees, service call fees, high labor rates, unprofessional technicians including some that don't have any integrity. After reading several good reviews on Pool Tex, I called Scott. I had two issues - a DE issues where I couldn't locate where the DE was getting back in the pool and a pump that would not prime after it was shut off. I needed the DE issue immediately as I had 20+ family and friends coming over the weekend before Memorial day for a grandchild's birthday celebration. As most good companies are, Scott was booked solid and was having difficulty getting me in prior to the celebration, but he spent a good amount of time on the phone helping me trouble shoot the situation. He then offered another solution aside from checking broken filter grids, cracked manifold cover and replacing the spider valve gasket (again) and even told me how to check his potential solution, and where to source the part so I would only have to purchase the part I needed. IT WAS THE CORRECT SOLUTION! Like another reviewer stared, Scott gave up potential income by telling me what to do, and his advice let me clean up the DE problem AND have my party as planned. He then came out later after Memorial Day between his other calls and identified the cause for the "pump not priming issue" as well and repaired that. He also gave me some tips on optimizing my pool's performance and the correct process to perform some maintenance procedures. Scott is the utmost professional. His charges are very reasonable, he is honest and ethical, his work is excellent, he explained what he was doing and why he wanted to change a gasket, etc. prior to doing so and cleaned the work site up upon completion. He obviously has his customer's interest at heart or he would not have told me how to fix the DE issue myself. I have never been more satisfied with any service call and technician than I was with Scott and Pool Tex. If your looking for an excellent pool service and repair company, you won't find anyone better. So don't waste your time looking for other companies and reading their reviews - just look at Scott's reviews - there is consistency on every one of them so we all can't be wrong.
