Glad I found him. I had someone came by gave quote which surprised me but thought it is expected. Scott suggested options, repair or replacement with new VSF for long term power savings. He was patient in explaining the options, not pushy and even suggested check alternative places which turned out to be less expensive if I have chosen to replace the pump set. If you read nothing past this first sentence please know this company deserves the highest of high ratings!!! Our pool filter motor went out and I had a very hard time finding pool companies with enough expertise to help understand what exact model to replace it with. Two different branches of a major company in the area didn't have subject matter experts near by. A couple other pool companies didn't answer the phone or be of much help including our own. Nationwide online companies were of little help. I found this Pool Pump Experts and spoke to Scott. He doesn't serve our Grapevine area so he was going to make $0 but spent time to help us understand not only what motor to get but also the seals for the shaft etc. it was tremendous help. A few days later when I finally got someone to inspect our system for the install, they wouldn't install 3rd party motors or parts for various reasons. I can respect that. But when a $400 expense for a motor replacement was turning into a conversation about replacing our Jandy handheld control system with one that can be used on a device through an app for more like $4,700, I felt completely vulnerable as to what prices were in the proper range or what was really necessary. I called Scott back asking for advice. He didn't answer. I figured well he doesn't need to call me back being out of his area. He called back in 5 minutes on his way to his next job. He explained everything in crystal clear terms anyone could understand. It provided incredible peace of mind and allowed us to make a decision either way. Again he absolutely did not need to help us. I just had a pool pump crash in the middle of an important start-up: POOL PUMP FAILURE FOLLOW-UP I wanted to take the time to highlight an exemplary service company called Pool Motor Supply and its owner Scott Smith. After being totally frustrated with the whole pool resurfacing and pool pump failure process, I am convinced that anyone who wants a swimming pool needs to plant their feet in concrete. If after looking at the overall ongoing maintenance expenses, increased electricity usage (not insignificant), personal time spent working to keep it up, etc., and you are capable of dragging that block of rock to the bank for your loan, then I guess you really should get one. If not, join the "Y" or any other swimming facility. Put your savings into your IRA or kids' college fund. You'll thank me a thousand times over. My master pool pump crashed on the first day of a pool resurfacing startup. The water circulation is critical at this stage and my pump started leaking like a sieve. I was convinced I was going to have to spend an additional thousand dollars to buy a new pump and pay someone to have it installed. PMS came highly recommended by friends on Nextdoor Neighborhood, but Scott was initially difficult to get ahold of. Let me rephrase that. He didn't get back to this panicked customer as fast as I wanted, but it was well within any other's normal time frame i.e., same day. After hearing my story late yesterday afternoon, he rearranged his schedule to come and repair or replace my unit today. I am glad I called and more importantly glad I didn't take other's advice and try to repair this myself; there were other motor issues that I would not have been able to address. Guaranteed: I would have botched it. The bottom line is, I didn't need a new motor. He repaired the unit on-site in less than an hour for less than $200. I can't thank him enough and hope that this note will insure him future business from others. Most folks these days won't hesitate to jump on here and write scathing reviews about poor service they received. I'm sure it's a way for them to vent, but not enough people take the time to write positive reviews anymore. Scott at Pool Motor Supply was nothing short of amazing. After my pump motor died and my pool turned into a science experiment, Scott was able to work me into his already packed schedule. For an extremely competitive price he got me up and running again. Not long after, faulty wiring within my original configuration caused the new motor to die. Afraid I was going to get the "that was your equipment, not what I installed" line, Scott made it back out (the day after he got back from a trip out of the country) corrected my faulty wiring, and replaced the motor free of cost. Few business take pride in their work anymore, and stand by their products and expertise. This company, and Scott in particular, have exceeded all expectations. I called for help and after some over-the-phone troubleshooting, Scott indicated he would check to see if he had the correct motor in stock to see if he could come by and fix it in a day or two. I placed a call and Scott personally returned it within about 15 minutes. I described the problem with my pool pump motor (motor humming loudly when attempting to start) and sent pictures. He told me the year the motor was built and suggested I try replacing the 1 year old capacitor. Since I knew how to do that, I replaced it and the pump took off running again. My pool pump motor bearings were bad. I was deciding between repairing the motor (replacing the bearings) or replacing the motor only (not the whole pump). I found two places that will replace bearings. I got quotes for bearing replacement from http://www.tgrayelectric.com/ and http://txemotors.com/. Both were around $200 which was very reasonable. I chose to replace the motor rather than repair it because to get the bearings replaced, I would have had to bring the pump to the repair shop. They are not very close to me, it's cold and I don't want my pump disconnected very long. What if I brought it back home and something wasn't right? I wanted to avoid the conversation of whether I did something wrong with it after I left the shop. Warranty, if any, would have been less. Ultimately, I found Pool Motor Supply https://www.poolmotorsupply.com/ and received excellent service from Scott. I can confirm as their website states clearly, it was $429 installed (tax included) with a 2 year warranty. Given the relatively small price difference, that was an easy choice. I called them on Wednesday and the work is done now (Friday). I can't recommend them enough. By the way, Pool Motor Supply referred me to the repair shop to have the bearings replaced (http://www.tgrayelectric.com/). I was very impressed by that. Excellent and above all, honest. I had the exact same problem with my new pump as I had with one I replaced 2 years ago. So why do i have a new pump? Because the last people told me i needed a new motor and it would cost 600+ bucks to fix.... (just the motor). I searched and I found I could replace the entire pump for 650+tax. So that is what i did. Yesterday I'm cursing, because the same exact problem with my new Hayward pump happened again, just 2 years into ownership. I decided to give this company a try and see what they would say. However, Scott at Pool Motor Supply saved the day when our pool pump died in the Texas heat. We used Scott recently when our 2004 pool motor went out. They typically last about 15 years so we were due. Dennis did a lot of research trying to figure out if he could do the work required to replace what is a $250 part. Scott's price for part and labor was more than fair. We highly recommend, I am pretty sure he specializes in pool or spa motor repair specifically. Ps Riverbend built our pool in 2004. We have had minimal issues and our pool operation cost are lower than most. The only major repair we have had since 2004 was due to the ice storm shearing Ice off the roof and crashing on our equipment. We are happy with our riverbend pool. read more

Stop! No need to look any further for a pool company. Words can't describe the outstanding customer service we received today from Scott. I called him thinking that our pool motor was going to have to be replaced and he was out here in 1 1//2 hours. He spent time answering all of my questions that I had. He easily could've sold me a new motor. However, he was very honest and all that was needed was a new capacitor in the motor.
