Renovated pool
Melissa M.

For anyone needing pool repairs or renovation: We had an excellent experience with Ken Holmes and his company Leak-Tech. It was a huge job (replaced all equipment besides the filter; replaced all tile, coping, and mastic; also replastered) and he made it not so overwhelming. We're really happy with how it turned out, how the project went overall, and his prices compared to the bigger company we considered using

I needed pool service pretty immediately after the rains in November and Japi was among the first…read moreto call me back and provide a time for me. He is very thorough, and knows his pools. He is responsive and even answers all of my dumb questions (I am a first-time pool owner). Prices are in line with the industry average, but he truly cares about the pool and does a good job every week! The proof is the report that he sends with each service with pics!

We hired GP&A after speaking with several pool companies and chose them specifically based on their…read morereviews praising quick response times and communication. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. We did the "Green-to-Clean ($800)". It took SIX weeks. We had to repeatedly follow up because they would go ~2 weeks without showing up or communicating. When we asked, we were told there was an emergency situation, we tried to be understanding, but there was no proactive communication on their end. We decided weekly service ($250/month). After the initial clean, we signed up for weekly maintenance. Within 24-48 hours of each visit, chlorine levels would drop back to 0 ppm. GP&A's explanation was that our pool system was outdated and needed to be replaced. However, we had two separate pool inspections done when we purchased the home, plus 3-4 other pool companies assess the equipment, none of them flagged the system (installed in 2017) as a problem requiring replacement. Upsell attempts: GP&A quoted us a full system replacement (under $6,000) and then a filter replacement (~$2,200) before they said they could continue service. We decided to move on to another provider. End of service: We asked if they could continue maintaining the pool through the end of the month. Their last visit was six days before the final day of the month (image attached). The pool was visibly green and in poor condition by end of month (again they serviced it 6 days ago and it is this green; not adding enough chlorine). When we brought this up, they responded that the condition was "consistent with the unresolved filtration issue for which repairs were recommended", essentially placing responsibility on us for not purchasing their repair package. We were looking for a long-term, trustworthy pool service company. What we experienced was poor communication, inconsistent results, and recommendations that no other company has supported. I cannot recommend GP&A based on our experience.

We were about to be out of town for the 4th so I needed someone out that day. I reached out to Evolution and after a little back and forth they were able to fit me in that same day at a reduced (50%) of their typical emergency call fee Dakota arrived when he said he would, performed a pressure and a dye test and located leaks at the juncture between the pool body and the face of both skimmer boxes Dakota executed the needed repairs and the problem was solved. Once again he gave me a 50% discount on the repairs to "win my business" Dakota and his assistant went about their business in a very efficient and professional manner. I was impressed by his willingness to work in bad weather (it poured rain at my house that day) and by his willingness to go the extra mile to earn my future business. I cannot recommend Dakota and Evolution strongly enough. if you have structural pool issues of any sort, call Dakota first. You won't be disappointed and you can thank me later for the recommendation

I'm retired. I enjoy doing repairs myself so, I investigated my pool leak myself. I dug a hole…read moreabout 18" deep where the water was seeping up and discovered I was "over my head" - metaphorically. My son had someone replace a pump for him, so when I told my son about my pool problems, his answer was simple: "Call Dakota. He knows his stuff." I called. Dakota returns my call the same day, quoted me the price for the inspection, the estimated price for the fix, and scheduled an inspection. Doug texted me 30 minutes before he arrived and arrived on time. I showed him the beautiful hole full of water from the leak and PVC pipes. I expected it was a pool leak because it was near one of the pool inlet jets. Doug suspected it to be somewhere in the spa which was next to my hole because of suspicious dampness where it should not have been damp. By using a hypodermic needle with colored dye, and a diver's mask, he put his head underwater and did a few squirts of dye near the suspected leak area to see the dye get sucked into a crack. So, he quickly and accurately found the leak. Once the water leaked into the stone overflow from the spa, it took a circuitous route to find and fill my hole. After a phone call to Dakota, he returned with a most reasonable price to fix the problem. I agreed at once and the work began. He drained the spa, cut out the old grout, mixed up underwater cement, patched the cut-out section, cleaned up the mess from the cut-out, re-filled the spa, and verified the leak was fixed. I paid him and he left me with my 18" hole and a warranty for the work done. But that's not the best part. The best part was the waiting around. While we waited around for the draining and re-filling of the SPA, I kept asking questions: What's the best robotic sweeper? How should I fix the grout cracks in the topstones around the pool? How about the retaining wall in back that shows cracks? What do you think of my suction pool sweep? We also talked about life and raising our children. Doug taught me things and verified some of the things I already know. He had good techniques for doing his work. It was like a personalized technical school, psychology session, and comedy show all rolled into one. (Doug has a good sense of humor.) Evolution Leak Detection does quality work, at reasonable prices with the integrity of men who will take that extra 30 minutes that determines the difference between a good job and a great job. That's a rare work ethic that is refreshing to know is still alive and well.

The previous owners of our home did not care for the pool, so after many years of trying to find the right person for the job, we thought Ryan would be our savior; boy, were we wrong. Things started off great! My husband found him on YELP with a high 4-star rating back in December 2024. Ryan was eager and appeared excited to bring our pool back to life. Ryan and Team started working on our pool February 2025. I mean, this guy is over communicating at this point. Keeping us updated on when they were coming out to the house and what materials were being purchased & so forth. We were indeed pleased. Our first biggest mistake, we paid him in full in April 2025. Ryan immediately stopped accepting our calls and stopped replying to text messages. We were out of $12,000! Thank the Lord we paid with a CC, so we took it up with our bank, but it wasn't easy. In June 2025, we were told by our bank that Ryan submitted pictures of a completed pool---claiming it was OUR pool. As a result, the ruling was ruled in Ryan's favor, not ours. We were in complete shock; utter devastation. FULL TRANSPARANCY POST NEXT: The stress was unimaginable. I stopped eating, my hair began to fall out, and I was so filled with anxiety, I could barely work. Texas Native Aquatics put such a severe strain on our lives, but my hurt turned into anger, AND WE FOUGHT BACK. We were not going to accept this! We took even more photos and gathered even more text messages to prove our case. It took hours upon hours to put the evidence together, but the hard work paid off. The claim was reopened and TODAY, the bank ruled in our favor. Today is September 16, 2025, and our pool is still unusable. It's been drained for 7 months---which can lead to more serious issues. We've declined hosting family events, friend get-togethers and birthday parties for our nephews all due to our pool condition and the pain/suffering Ryan Williams has caused. Feel free to visit his google and yelp page---as you can see, we are not the first to write about being taken advantage of. And as of recently, his ratings have declined. I am truly fearful for this guy because if he continues this type of practice, then he might end up working for the wrong client and he will be out a lot more than he is now. Lucky for him, he got a nice couple I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND RYAN WILLIAMS AND TEXAS NATIVE ACQUATICS.

I must say, I've had a number of pool companies either maintaining or updating my pool, and I have…read morenot been satisfied with any of them. But.. that has changed. Windy River Pools is a new company owned by the Kessler's, a married couple. Robert Kessler owned Pacific Builders Group- a Landscaping & Pool - Design/Build Out company in California for 28 years. He takes that knowledge and his General Contractor license in pool building, renovation and maintaining to Texas! Windy River Pools offers a holistic approach in pool maintenance! When I set up an account with them, Robert trouble-shooted my poorly working Polaris, tuned-up my pool equipment, evaluated the pool water chemistry and vacuumed, removed plaster stains and brushed down my pool! Their monthly maintenance fee is $150 a month! * Instead of bringing my Polaris into Leslies Pool Retail 4 times a year, Robert found it was more to do with the pressure in the pool and corrected the issue. * I was so unhappy with my original pool remodeler that had re-surfaced my pool. I now have a 3rd rebar patch that is eating thru, since the re-plaster! It looks like a pool fire! I had started to interview more remodelers to correct the issue at a big price point. No need. Robert took care of the issue on his first visit. * My main concern was coming home and seeing white powder at the bottom of the pool. I thought the filter was spitting out DE. It was from the weekly chemical service I was using for the pool. They would leave clumps of Shock at the bottom of the pool producing excessive chlorine in the pool. This leads to the plaster eroding. * Windy River Pools have now converted my pool to a mineral pool (a little over $300). The pool uses very few chemicals, I did not need any additional equipment and you should see how clear the water is! Plus it is much more healthy to swim in. What an amazing change! * I always know when they have serviced my pool and what had been done to it with the following report below. Windy River Pool Company is in a class all to its own - like no other! And it is so much easier on the pool owner to have one contact to address all concerns.. at such a reasonable cost. To know my pool is consistently being cared for and any issues, like rebar coming thru, is addressed immediately is such a relief! A few years after I moved here from California, I ended up selling my first home because I was yearning the Pacific Ocean. So I had to buy a home with a pool to look out at. Now look at it! Just need to put in a wave machine! Your Pool Is Now Sparkling Clean! Hi Terri, Thanks for choosing us to keep your pool looking great! Continue to work on stains , everything is looking good and running great!! Back wash pin is bent allowing a little DE back into pool, did not have one on truck , but, will install one.
