We were really looking forward to celebrating two special occasions at Fogo de Chão, our 8th wedding anniversary and our daughter's 7th birthday. I made the reservation in advance and specifically noted both celebrations, and I also mentioned them to our server at the beginning of dinner. We were told they would bring out desserts to celebrate. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing, especially for a special occasion. The meat service was extremely slow and inconsistent. For the first 30 minutes, we barely received any meat service at all and sat around waiting. We eventually had to complain to our server, who said they would have the gauchos come toward our table more often. Even after that, we only had one person come by, and it was a meat we had already tried. After we complained a second time, we were suddenly bombarded with meat service, which made the experience feel very disorganized. It shouldn't take multiple complaints before guests receive the service they are paying for. We were also disappointed by the lack of variety in the food. By the end of dinner, the overall experience just wasn't what we has anticipated. Plus the desserts that we were told would be brought out for our anniversary and our daughter's birthday never came. At that point, I was already frustrated with the experience and didn't want to wait around any longer, so we paid the bill and left. We chose Fogo de Chão specifically to celebrate two important family milestones, so it was especially disappointing that the service and attention to the occasion fell short. For the price, we expected much better service, variety, and overall experience. I really was looking forward to finally trying Fogo de Chao but the experience started off bad with dirty bathrooms. We were sat at a small table and the floors were also dirty. The salad bar was unappetizing. All I cared for was the meat. There were some really flavorful and tender cuts of meats that we got to try. The meat cutters who brought out the meat worked really fast. The meat itself was so tasty, but we won't return to this location if I decide to give this popular chain another try. Our server was friendly but she seemed really out of it. We had asked if some desserts I had brought before our dinner reservation could be kept in their fridge so that it stays cold, but then she forgot about it when we asked about for it after paying our check, and we also realized that they weren't put in the fridge while we were dining. My first time to FOGO DE CHAO was the original OG in Dallas and it was way more intense than my experience here. It was almost overwhelming in Dallas. Way more relaxed here in Scottsdale. The flavor was very good- there was a slight smokey flavor but you could tell the steak had been marinating for a while! We asked for the filet mignon and they grilled it right up for us! I would however order it at the very beginning because it can take a while depending on how busy the kitchen is. At the beginning our server wasn't all that attentive because to be honest I think she was just very overwhelmed because there were a ton of people there. I'd been hearing so many good things about Fogo de Chão that I decided to take my husband there for his birthday. Our reservation was for 7pm, and they were really busy! So busy that we didn't actually sit down to eat until almost 8pm. We loved the little cheese rolls they bring to the table (and constantly restock), and the charcuterie bar was really interesting. One negative thing about their spread, though, was that there were a decent number of little flies? But the food was good, especially the smoked salmon. We ordered the Indulgent Churrasco, and recieved both the bone marrow and the crab cake, which were both delicious. The meats were also cooked very well, and I loved the drink selection. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of acknowledgment of my 50th birthday. My husband specifically mentioned the occasion when making our reservation, and our waiter was also informed during dinner. I wasn't expecting anything extravagant, but even a simple acknowledgment would have made a difference. I also submitted my concerns through the company's website but have not received a response. I can see the appeal of Fogo de Chao. If you want a large amount of mid quality meat at a relatively affordable price, this is for you. We mostly got beef, lamb, and sausages. The beef is not impressive by any means, which is understandable given the price point. The lamb was too gamey for my taste (I could barely eat it). I also find sausages a bit too salty. The overall vibe is kind of confusing. It feels like they're trying to be upscale, but it doesn't really get there and ends up looking a bit tacky. They also consistently made people wait past their reservation time, which didn't help the experience. 3 stars are for the energetic and efficient servers and the satisfying salad bar. Also had chicken and lamb. Didn't choose any of the bacon or sausage choices. We came early, at 4 which was excellent as we beat the crowd and hand no trouble parking right outside the front door. Loved the ambiance for our special occasion and we all had a great memory anniversary celebration. Yes, the restaurant is pricey but after 57 years married to the same awesome man, we made special memories. One of our party has a digestive issue so can only eat small bites so I made arrangements before I came to allow her to order from the to-go menu. Her meal didn't arrive until we were close to finished with all our selections but we also had a dessert at the end so she was able to take her few bites before the dessert. I had an incredible experience 6 months ago and I brought my family here last night and boy o boy... all the meat was well done except their signature picanha which was medium rare but was only offered to us once. I was hoping to get a decent table but we were sat against a wall with a swinging door (that wasn't being used) but still was a bit unstable and the sound from the back dining room carried through it, we were also skipped a LOT by many of the folks carrying around meat skewers. Overall the food was great, I'm not sure we ate $200 worth but I look at it as getting to try several types of meat we wouldn't otherwise have gotten at a regular restaurant. Miguel was our server and he was fantastic, he was quick and efficient with drinks and taking empty plates away. 11/10 no notes! And I can understand the meat come with some fat but to see the slice of cut on a customer's plate and not offer a different cut is also outrageous PLUS, this being written the next day. My wife and I are in a whirl with our stomachs!! We've had like three teas to try to fix our damn stomachs. Overall, we don't mind paying for some good ass food. Call us big backs but it was OUTRAGEOUS to pay 200 for some overrated meat. We brought our family here to celebrate my daughter's birthday and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience, especially after spending close to $900 for our table of 10. Even though we had a reservation, we waited over 20 minutes to be seated. After finally sitting down, it took another 15 minutes just to get drinks. We then waited more than 20 minutes with no plates brought to the table, and another 20+ minutes before any meat service started, even though our cards were green the entire time. Out of 10 people at the table, only two of us were able to try a small piece of filet mignon, and the servers never returned to offer it to the rest of the group. Soft drink refills were extremely slow, and at one point the refill didn't arrive until about five minutes after we had already paid and finished dinner. What made the experience more uncomfortable was how often staff came by asking to clear our plates while we were still actively eating. It felt rushed and pressured, as if they were trying to turn the table quickly. The restaurant was very busy, and while we understand that, guests should not feel pushed out , especially at this price point. The table spacing was also very tight, making it difficult to walk to the Market Table or even to the restroom. To make matters worse, this was noted as a birthday celebration and we were told a small cake would be brought out. After paying and waiting another 15 minutes, no cake arrived. As we were about to leave, the server asked if we had received it yet. At that point we just asked to have it boxed to go. For nearly $900, the experience did not feel worth the cost. The service lacked the attentiveness and hospitality we expected, and the overall visit felt more rushed than welcoming.
