We recently celebrated our son's birthday at Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse with our family of five, and unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. Out of the several Fogo de Chão locations we've visited, this one was by far our least favorite. The meat selections we were served were mostly dry and lacked the flavor we normally expect from Fogo de Chão. The service throughout the evening was also not very attentive. Since we were celebrating our son's birthday, we were hoping for a special and memorable moment. Unfortunately, the birthday presentation felt rushed and awkward -- the candle was placed directly on the plate instead of on the cake, which made it feel less thoughtful. We were also excited to take family photos for the occasion. We asked one of the servers to take a photo for us, but she only took two quick pictures and unfortunately both turned out poorly. In the end, we didn't get any good family photos to remember the celebration. Because the experience fell short of what we had hoped for, we've decided to celebrate our son's birthday again at another restaurant this weekend in hopes of creating the memorable celebration we originally wanted for him. We've had great experiences at other Fogo de Chão locations, which is why this visit was particularly disappointing. Hopefully the management team can take this feedback into consideration so future celebrations for other families feel more special than ours did. read more

I have been to many Fogo locations around the country, but this location is by far my least favorite. I came here for our weekly date night. There is a parking garage nearby, and street parking is also available, which was convenient. Unfortunately, the dining experience itself was very disappointing. The salad bar had many empty dishes that were not being refilled quickly, even during peak dinner time. Service was also lacking--I had to ask four times just to get a a drink refill. On top of that, the meats were not circulating regularly, so we spent a lot of time waiting. Overall, the service really took away from what should have been a nice date night experience. read more

We went here for our anniversary and it ended up being a great experience. We both got the indulgence experience. The market bar, sides and dessert are included. The cheesecake brûlée was amazing. If this is your first time, I'd recommend flipping your card to no to allow more time to experience other meat choices to flow through. The waitress was on top of drinks and other needs along with being super friendly. We sat indoors but they do have some outdoor seating. Overall, we enjoyed it and will be back! read more

I have been to Chima in Tyson's a few times, so I decided it was time to try Fogo De Chao. We visited on a Sunday night and were seated right away. We did the full churrasco, which gives you access to the salad bar and the meats. The salad bar was delicious and they replenished it frequently. The meats that were brought around were very good and came quickly when we had our tokens green. We did get a few meats that were a bit undercooked. I like my meat rare but some were less than rare. The service really sucked, and will probably keep me from going back to this location. My friend ordered a beer and it took a while to be delivered. Once they delivered it, they didn't open it and we didn't have a bottle opener. We also had a waitress that only visited our table twice but was frequently checking on other tables. We kept trying to make eye contact with our waitress to get our check, and she just kept ignoring us. We barely got water refills as well. The table beside us also didn't get helped much, and they ended up making a complaint with a manager. For the price, I did expect that we would get some service, it felt like our table was invisible to our waitress. read more

First let's start with the thought: What a GREAT ALL day HH spot! So, I came here on a Friday and thoroughly enjoyed the casual, cool, and welcoming vibe. I sat at the bar, which gave a sense of community. The consistent customers and waiters of Fogo all knew each other's names and gave a sense of genuine care for one another. This is the real deal here. Continuous tableside carving of Picanha (prime part of top sirloin), Fraldinha (bottom sirloin), roasted chicken, ribeye, lamb chops and sausage. Wonderful atmosphere with a cozy and welcoming ambiance, making it a perfect spot for a date night. The service was excellent--attentive and friendly, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The food was overall pretty good, with a few standout items. I absolutely loved the cheesy bread--it was warm, flavorful, and the perfect start to the meal. The ribeye, though a bit tricky to find on the menu, is definitely worth requesting; just ask, and they'll happily bring it out for you. However, I wasn't as impressed with the filet mignon, as it didn't quite meet expectations compared to some of the other dishes - a bit gamey. On the other hand, the garlic steak was delicious--packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. The sides were fantastic, complementing the main dishes well, with plenty of variety to choose from. We came here two days after landing from Brazil and four days after visiting the Brazilian Fogo de Chão in the Brazilian city centre. Very different places, this one was very loud and the frequency of meat offered especially the higher end meats were infrequent. We were offered more chicken lamb,, gizzards, bacon wrapped in things. It was only after I complained that someone came over to my spouse and spoke to him. The place is not conducive to an intimate evening. The meat was hot and seasoned well; however service didn't meet up to expectations, drink was good- we had the traditional Brazilian drink- Caipirinha. After walking away with my mother, my spouse said people came by and served him because Melissa, the Customer Service Representative,brought them to him. She was very responsive to our feedback. We stayed and decided to order dessert, just to give the another chance. We ordered Coffee and dessert just to check on service consistency and it's an issue. Melissa came over and asked us if was ok. My 95 yo mom asked " where's the dessert " she asked if we wanted more coffee and said that she'd check on the dessert. Barry asked if they provided sleeping accommodations here to me. I told him no. Dessert came with Melissa's help. She's great- we're thinking that they had a busy night. read more

Look, Brazilian steakhouses just aren't my thing so you have to take my review with a grain of salt. I have two major issues with the whole concept: (1) the meat is rarely cooked to my preference (because it's cooked and then carted around the establishment so it continues to cook, cools, probably gets heated up again... etc.) (2) it's expensive and I just can't eat that much in one sitting - for the same price I could get an app and a dish that is prepared the way I want it and I would enjoy that so much more. (3) ok so I have more than two issues... I don't love my food being carted around and set on other people's tables - I just don't trust people not to be using their tongs for things other than serving themselves... (so maybe this is a trust thing ‍) Service is always wonderful though and honestly both locations (Tysons and Reston) I have been to have a great look and feel - despite my issues with it - I go, because it is fun with friends I will add that I do think they have a decent burger and I like their yucca fries, so if I was by myself, I would just sit at the bar and order that. Last thing - I promise - they have specialty nights, like wine nights where they pair wines with the meat and I think you can win the wine - I would be into that. I've been to the Reston Fogo 3 times and must say the latest one is the least enjoyable experience. It was for a Father's Day lunch with my son a day early on Saturday. The salad bar selection seems to be of less quality than before. The plates they bring to the table with mashed potatoes and plantain is smaller than before. The meat going around the restaurant seems to be only around 5 to 6 selections with lots of chicken variations. I do like their chicken but Fogo is known for their meat so a bit disappointing. I had to ask for Beef Ribs and Lamb Chops which is unusual. Maybe it was Saturday vs. Sunday At least the waffles are still around for a good dessert to end the lunch. Might have to go to the Tysons location if I want to do Fogo again or try the other Brazilian restaurants. read more

This Reston spot is probably the second best after the DC one, not just because of the vibe but also the steak quality. If we're getting charged for water, it would be nice if we could be offered the option for tap instead of just "sparkling or still" which is misleading. I took a group of 13 coworkers to Fogo de Chão for an after work dinner and we all loved it. We got the"Best of Brazil" special. Service was spectacular! The meats just kept coming - one juicy morsel after another with stops at the fresh market bar for adding greens, cheese, fruit and salads. This was truly a memorable meal! Atmosphere is lively with lots of wait staff proudly bearing mouthwatering steaks to slice at your choice of rare to well done. Don't forget to save room for the dessert! This Fogo really missed the mark. Similar to other reviews, the meats aren't as tender nor flavorful as Fogo's of the past. The servers slow roll what meats come out, i can only say no to chicken thighs so many times, and filet came out once, only when i requested it at the end of my meal. The rest was fatty, dry, and ether well done or rare. Asked for med rare and the server cut a well done piece, said "oh that's more well done" and then walked away. We ate at Uncle Julio's and decided to grab another drink here since it was my friend's birthday! We walked in and sat at the bar the bartender was unfriendly and just rude. Ignored our greeting and when he handed us menus ignored our thank you's. Just seemed like he had an attitude which was just uncomfortable so we decided to leave. We went here recently to celebrate my brother getting a new job and it was pretty good. We went for lunch on the weekend (Sunday) and didn't wait long for a table for 4. It was very busy, but the restaurant itself is roomy and nice. We got to try the buffet to start and it was good but I could tell certain items hadn't been replenished or refreshed as much, so avoided them. We all decided to have the unlimited meat option and once we flipped our cards to green, waited a bit, then got to try all the options. We enjoyed most everything, except for the pork and chicken were dry, although some portions were better, according to my brother. We didn't seem to have one consistent server and the service lacked due to this, with us missing some drinks ordered. Overall though, the staff was friendly and super helpful. 5 Stars: Miguel at Fogo de Chão - The Best Bartender in Reston Town Center! I simply had to write a review for Miguel, the bartender at Fogo de Chão in Reston Town Center. If you're looking for a consistently great drink and phenomenal service, he is your guy. I've been to this Fogo a number of times, and every time Miguel is behind the bar, the experience is top-notch. His drinks are consistently delicious. Seriously, whatever I order--whether it's a classic Caipirinha (which he makes perfectly, naturally) or something more complex like a custom martini--it always comes out balanced, ice-cold, and exactly right. It's rare to find a bartender who nails every drink, every time, but Miguel does it. Beyond the quality of the cocktails, his service is incredibly fast and attentive. Even when the bar is completely slammed (and it often is!), he manages to take orders, mix drinks, and keep the whole area running smoothly without ever making you feel rushed. He's efficient, professional, and genuinely seems to enjoy what he does, which makes sitting at the bar a pleasure. If you're dining at Fogo de Chão or just stopping by the bar, do yourself a favor and sit where Miguel is working. He's a true pro and a huge asset to the Reston Town Center location. Visited this Fogo location for a nice girls night with my mom at RTC. Starting off with the salad and sides bar, all items were fresh and a great way to kick off the meal. My mom and I enjoyed hearts of palm, seasoned cauliflower, cheeses, and pumpkin soup. But make sure not to fill up! They also provide you with tasty Pao De Queijo (cheese bread) and tasty, buttery mashed potatoes for the table. As for the meats, all are very high quality cuts. My personal favorites were the Garlic Steak and Filet Mignon tenderloin. My mom enjoyed the Alcatra Top Sirloin as well. Everything was so delicious we were running out of plate space before we knew it! Our server was so kind and even gave my mom and I a special dessert after hearing of my graduation a few months prior! That's a great restaurant. Momma wanted to dine here for her birthday, so we made it happen. Made a reservation for 5:30 on a Saturday evening. A bit early, but glad we did so --- got there before it got busy. Got a beautiful quiet place to sit, away from the kitchen and the crowd, and had an absolutely wonderful meal. Attentive staff all around - I believe our primary server was Gabbie, and she did a wonderful job. They all did. We had at least four different people checking on us and taking care of our needs - and that's not counting the gentlemen bringing the various meats to the table. I filled up on salad bar primarily - and I am perfectly happy with that, as that salad bar had so many awesome things to offer - including carpaccio, salmon, and other yummy offerings. I mostly ate sirloin - which was absolutely perfect. Momma had that, plus lamb, filet, and a few more items. Even the fried polenta and plantains were perfect. All in all, a great evening. We came here to celebrate our second anniversary! I loved having brunch here. It's the second time we've eaten here. The brunch deal is wayyyy better than the dinner. It's all you can eat as well, but it's around You get pretty much all the same food options plus some specialty breakfast options. There's a breakfast bar with fruits, parfait, salmon, cheeses, meats, etc... they also have an omelet bar and a waffle bar all made fresh! The service was good, our waitress came by every so often to make sure we were good. The meats came around generously. The restaurant wasn't super packed. They also have a everyday happy hour deal at their bar. The ambiance is very nice for celebrations and work meetings. There's garages and street parking. Ambiance- excellent location. 2 parking strutted located next to the restaurant. When you walk in, you are greeted by the wide well lit space. The tables are spaced out and not on top of each other. Food- excellent cuts and if it wasn't on the rotation they asked us for our preference. We asked for lamb chops and nice fresh chops were delivered. A generous portion for those who requested them. We also asked for flank and they cooked to order. Ribeye, the various sirloin cuts, chicken and sausage were on the rotation. They also served a honey cheese that was super tasty. Their market buffet was a treat for the keto lover in our group. Fresh salads, various soups and sauces. All fresh and we definitely visited a few times. Service- our server and the other team members who served drinks were amazing. The reason for the drop in star is the server who cleared off our table. This woman was ridiculously clumsy with no apologies. She dropped a plate with leftover food and the remnants spilled on one of our guests clothes. Then she came back a second time to clear off and dropped a steak knife next to the same guest and almost hit our guest. NO APOLOGIES. She was in a hurry. That's unacceptable. This is your run of the mill chain restaurant. Great for folks who like to eat a lot of mediocre food. Steaks were chewy, chicken so-so, salads nothing special (typical ingredients with some slightly moldy leaves). Service was alright but we waited a very long time for drinks, which only came when the waiter stopped at our third time without them and realized how long it had been. I wouldn't ever go again by choice. For the price, you can get much better food at a steakhouse like Ruth's Chris. Don't waste your money or calories. read more

Came here for a surprise 40th birthday party and it was the perfect spot! We had our own private area with a bar, servers and a great view! Apps were shrimp cocktail and empanadas - both were fresh and delicious! I think I had 10 shrimp, they were very meaty and juicy! For main course we or course hit up the salad bar. All of the vegetables, salads, fruits and sides were fresh, wonderfully seasoned and tasty. My favorite was a seasonal soup which was a carrot ginger. It was to die for. Coconut milk undertones. I would go back JUST for this soup! As for the meats, everything was cooked to perfection, well season and juicy! If I had to pick favorites it would probably be the garlic steak and the ribeye. When asked for our preference, they mumbled in agreement, left and never came back - this happened on several occasions. Ah, dining at its finest! We reserved for 8:00 PM, but clearly, this place runs on a different time zone--let's call it Disrespect Standard Time (DST). By 8:40, we were still outside, shivering like extras in a disaster movie, waiting for our names to be shouted into the void. No pager, no text, just vibes. The ambiance? Exquisite chaos. A crowd packed tighter than my patience level. The reservation system? Pure fiction--a reservation in name only, like buying a ticket to a concert and being told, "Just hang around, maybe you'll hear the music from the parking lot." We thought about grabbing a drink somewhere else at RTC while we waited, but nooo--can't wander far without a pager or notification system. Apparently, if you're not standing directly in front of the host stand, you cease to exist. So, if you're into unfulfilled promises, body heat from strangers, and the thrill of maybe, someday, eating, this place is perfect. Otherwise, bring a coat, a lawn chair, and perhaps your therapist. Update: We finally got seated--at 8:50--after hunting down a manager like we were contestants on a scavenger hunt. But the fun didn't stop there! Scavenger Hunt #2: Find a bowl for the soup and feijoada. We gave up on spoons entirely and just ate it like survivors on a reality show--because, by now, we'd been on more scavenger hunts than I ever was on Easter Sunday as a kid. The food? Meh. Some of the meat had a concerning "fresh from the sea" vibe (which would be great... if we had ordered seafood). On the bright side, our server was absolutely lovely--clearly too good for this circus. Final verdict: Save yourself the headache and go to Texas de Brazil instead. Hits the spot if you are fixing to engage in a torrent of gluttony, but between the crowd, noise level, wait times, often uneven or under/overcooked meats, lack of flavor and seasoning, and (relatively) high prices if dining without a coupon, you have to really be in the mood to Fogo, specifically, for a visit to be justified. I come once in a blue moon due to location and that I get the occasional hankering for a flagrant pig out session. While an initial wave of euphoria mixed with nostalgia engulfs me nigh every visit, it eventually, at some point, yields to a more salient pullulation of mild dread at worst; or blase disenchantment at best. Recommendation to the restaurant: quality control of the meats is priority above all. read more

Normally I don't write reviews, but after my visit to Fogo de Chão (Washington DC - Reston location), I felt I needed to share my experience. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, a good location, and the service was attentive. Unfortunately, the quality of the meat was extremely disappointing. When they brought fraldinha, I asked for a piece. After the first bite, I immediately told my son something tasted off, though he said it was fine for him. I didn't eat any more of it. They continued bringing different cuts, but none of them were good, so we finished quickly and left. I considered saying something to the staff, but my son asked me not to make a scene. We were in the DC/Maryland area for a soccer tournament and went back to our hotel. Around 11 PM, my son suddenly became very sick--vomiting, dehydrated--so I had to take him to the hospital. Long story short: after eating at Fogo de Chão around 2 PM, and having nothing else afterward, he ended up with food poisoning. I sincerely hope the restaurant sees this and takes it seriously. No place charging nearly $50 per person should be serving meat of such poor quality, especially when it compromises people's health. read more
