I felt the need to review Focus Movers because they did an outstanding job on my move and deserve 5 stars! My husband and i moved from Annapolis, Maryland to York, Pennsylvania on May 25th, 2013. I had never hired a moving company and was incredibly nervous about how the move would go considering some horror stories I had read about. to begin, i received a confirmation phone call the day before as well as the morning of. The movers showed up 30 minutes early and wasted absolutely no time moving items. We had 3 movers overall, Tyrell, Jerome, and I never got the other guys name but they were all awesome, friendly, and incredibly focused! They were organized and strategically planned the packing of the truck perfectly. All the while ensuring our furniture and items were safe and not damaged. I had purchased the movers drinks and food for lunch and they were so gracious in saying thank you, which I appreciated as much they did. Also, i'm a little over 6 months pregnant and the guys would not allow me to move or lift virtually anything! Even when I offered to help, they calmly told me no and handled it themselves. My husband and I both really appreciated that! Our items made it safely to Pennsylvania and all 3 of them had the entire truck unpacked in a little over an hour! They made sure all the boxes made it to the correct room and floor and even positioned the larger pieces of furniture to where I liked them. Our new home had brand new hardwoods put in, and they were so careful not to drag or scuff it up. You guys are the BEST! I've had a tough time with my home life, having to move both last Sept. 2016 (twice) and finally to my final location in June 2017--each time, using Focus Movers. And, each time, your crew totally came through for me on the move day with being patient, pleasant and always in a good mood throughout the daylong hard work of lifting my home life of boxes and furniture... all translating to total professionalism throughout the move (especially, Anthony, Mr. Puzzle-solver of the truck's loading of each item, for the best "fit"). My belongings were handled with great care and nothing's ever been broken. Your communication was excellent, too, btw (with all fees and moving policies given upfront, in addition to confirming my move date). One time I used my own truck and hired FM only for labor (3 crewmembers); but then the next two subsequent moves, I opted to use their truck in addition to 3-men crews. Either way--with or without their truck--setting up the move date with their fees for either type of move was straighforward, with no hidden fees later (and on the move day, no unexpected fees cropped up either, a al, bait-and-switch that other companies may do). Focus Movers: you get exactly what you signed up for, with all fees given up front (with more fee/moving policies that might be needed due to any unexpected adjustments that may occur on the move date--such as, if you go an extra hour or two beyond your planning!). After reading all of the excellent reviews and getting some word-of-mouth recommendations, I had no choice but to call Focus Movers. I was still contemplating between their company and another when Brandon reached out to me. He asked if there was anything the company could do to gain my business. Being as though I just did a quote online, and expected an email, this was different. I immediately felt at ease with Brandon, and before we were through on the phone, I had given a rundown of what I had and what I needed. He contacted me the following day to confirm the date and all I had to do was sit back and relax. The day before the move, called to confirm and told me I should receive a phone call the next day as well. The three gentlemen that showed up to my home the day of-ON TIME!- were nice, well-groomed and efficient. We did a walk through, and I was told to sit down and prop my feet up! They were fast, worked well together as a team, and even allowed me to talk them to death--I'm a talker if you couldn't tell. They took it all in stride, made sure everything was set up where and the way I wanted. They asked if there was anything else they could do for me, at this point, they'd done everything in their power to ensure I was totally satisfied. My move involved a single unusual item that necessiated detailed logistics and special care. On my first call to Focus Movers, Jason walked me through all the details to a "T", which involved a freight company and synchronizing the delivery and pickup. Above and beyond the call of duty, Jason agreed to speak with the manufacturer of my wood burning stove and chimney (over eight hundred pounds total) to nail down the specifics of what would be needed for pick up at the dock and delivery to my residence. Total professionalism. At that point, Jason lead me through two scenarios to offer me cost options. Although he left the decision to me, I opted for what I could see was obviously the best solution. When my stove was delivered, the three men moving it reflected the professionalism that I had experienced over the phone with Jason. They went out of their way to make it a "complete move", which is to say that they not only carefully removed the 500 lb. + stove from the moving crate but worked with me in placing it in just the right spot on the hearth. Also, Focus Movers has an ongoing business relationship with ABF, which was another selling point for me. Great job guys! read more

"FOCUS"movers is the ideal name for this company. I recently purchased a new home. And like anyone else gotta get a mover. I called and spoke with Kermit, owner of Focus movers and he was just as gentle, kind and very professional the entire time. I will admit to being a little stressed about packing everything and not meeting the time we agreed upon. Not to mention it was suppose to rain on my moving day. Well, talking to David, who was professional the whole time, he assured me that, "they can get it done". Well he spoke nothing but the truth. They arrived, surveyed the apartment, and then immediately began to move things. The entire time they maintained professionalism and mannerism. Even though it was cloudy and sparatic rain, David, Kevin and Smacc truly brought the sunshine! I had bad experiences with other moving companies who were unprepared and late, however, focused movers has impressed me. I mostly communicated with Jason via email and he helped me switch my appointment around three times. I was almost expecting them not to be available. I received a call the day of the appointment and was told that the movers were on their way. When the movers arrived they gave me a call also. The two guys worked quickly, and handled my items with care. They were well prepared and had the right equipment. They loaded the truck quickly and had unloaded everything and put the boxes in the correct rooms. Hopefully I will not be moving in the near future but if I am I will be using focus again. Focus Movers was great! I had trouble finding a company originally, but David and Antonio were fantastic! They showed up exactly on time, took a tour of the apartment and then told me to relax. They took care of everything. They drove straight from the apartment to the new condo, no problems, again took a tour, and then moved it all in. The agency had quoted 3-4 hours, but every other company quoted 4-5, so I really expected 4-5 hours. I did have a lot of stuff for a 1 bedroom apartment. It took 5 hours, but they worked so hard and were as efficient as possible, so I had no problems with the 5 hours. David and Antonio were polite, kind and professional. I called 4 others moving companies but this one was the only one that accepts all forms of credit card, most are cash only that I came across. We used Focus Movers for our move about 5 miles away. It was a very, very hot July day and the crew worked tirelessly to get us moved. They even added 3 more guys who had finished a job to help out in our rowhouse (with lots of stairs) to help keep things moving. The movers were friendly courteous and worked straight through until we are moved. Kermit (the owner) was terrific to work with. He told us exactly what to pack and what we could keep the way it was. Wow !!! focus did a wonderful job moving me this weekend I was very impressed they greeted me and said we just need you to relax we got thisthey were on time and gave me excellent service. The movers (Jeff and Brandon) arrived on time and treated all of my items with care. Everything was wrapped and they even disassembled and assembled a dining room table that I couldn't complete on my own. Anthony and Alan were hella fast, nice, and dealt with a challenging move with lots of stairs on both ends on one of the hottest days of the year with a great attitude. They came earlier than we had planned because they finished another job early and I was glad they did because it meant we were done before the hottest part of the day.
