2025 NYE special - Red Fish Blue Fish
    Sonya L.

Our first time visiting and we were able to get reservations for New Years Eve Dinner! They did an amazing job. We started with some fresh and delicious cocktails and a yummy dates wrapped with bacon and burrata cheese. Next was their special three course meal. My favorite dish was the Red Fish Blue Fish - blackened redfish! The server was nice and very attentive. Definitely will be back to try some of their standard menu.

My friend and I went for brunch here for her birthday and it was amazing!! Blake was our server and he was fantastic. I've worked as a server and a restaurant manager and I'm serious- he's so amazing. We got espresso martinis to drink (so good) and then my friend got an open faced omelette and side of hash browns and I got the pork belly hash (amazing). It was so cute inside too. We'll definitely be back!

My friends and I came here for my friend's bachelorette brunch. This is the cutest spot and the food and drinks were delicious. Our waitress was the sweetest and so patient with us. I hate to give a bad review because our overall experience was great. We came in and they got us seated and accommodated all of our needs but it was brought to my attention that the bar tender was conversing with another guest at the restaurant about our table and it made all of us very uncomfortable. One of the ladies with us had her son with us and he was fussy and having a rough day. He's teething so nothing and no one but his mother could settle him and even he was giving her a hard time. All of us at the table asked her multiple times if we could hold him or help in any way so she could eat or at least try to enjoy her time but he would throw a fit if anyone else would try to console him. I said all that to say this, I find it very rude and unacceptable for the bartender to make any kind of comments or have conversations with other guests about how she didn't understand why no one at the table was helping her with her son or offered to hold him so that his mother could eat. There is no reason for anyone to comment on a situation like that and I was very disappointed that the conversation was even had. Would I come back, yes because the food and service really was incredible but it breaks my heart that that even happened.

I visited FM Eatery during lunch. It's a cute, little place in Main Street. I was able to secure a spot on the street but there is parking behind the various buildings as well. In my new role as a consultant, I cross-cross the country and one of my favorite things to do is let the locals direct me to their favorite spots. I have eaten excellent Mexican in El Paso, delighted in juicy Lucy's in Minneapolis, and been overwhelmed by history and delicious gumbo in New Orleans. Fort Mill was not a place I expected to have a similar experience. I ordered the Daily Hooker, a blackened redfish sandwich with a side of brussel sprouts. Seems simple enough, and it was, but there is something about food done right that puts it over the top. The seasoning on the redfish was perfect. Not so heavy you can't taste the fish, but enough that you could feel the bite of the blackening. And I have no idea what they did to the sprouts, but they were just perfect. The flavor is just "different." According to Andrew, my waiter, they do a dinner dish with shrimp and a sauce that is even better. I have no idea how, but I look forward to discovering this. This place is a winner. The service was exceptional, the restaurant is small but delightful, and the food is simply excellent.

Alright so second time is the charm. This time, we ordered an appetizer salad, two entrees and dessert. The takeaway to a better experience was getting a large plate instead of sampling small plates. They just had better execution. Our server Blake had the best personality, which also made the experience enjoyable. I never order dessert, but had to take a piece of the biscoff cheesecake home. It did not disappoint. Love the fact that getting reservations for a weekend for two is relatively easy a couple nights prior and that there is a new parking lot so you don't have to fight for a street spot. Well done, FM Eatery, I've been converted.

Attaching pictures to the last review. For some reason it didn't come through. I can't wait to be back here.

loved the ambiance. The music seemed out of place but once the crowd started to arrive, you could not hear it. I liked the drink and the small bites. I thought the parpadelle pasta was a bit thick. The only thing I was not super keen on was the crème brûlée. I thought it was way too sweet.i think if you just went with the lemongrass, it might have been better. I enjoyed the food and the experience

"People who love to eat are always the best people." - Julia Child The FM Eatery is also Fortes Mill because the owner/chef is Fortes. So it's here in the downtown district of Fort Mill and so there's plenty of parking nearby unless there is soem sort of special event. We arrived here on a Saturday afternoon and the brunch menu was still going. Warmly welcomed and seated immediately, we looked over the menu. Mrs. K. ordered a mocktail "Berry Smash" with mint and berries that she thoroughly enjoyed. I had a "Dad Beer" from their menu. For mains, it was a tough call as there are quite a few fabulous options. In the end, it was the Blueberry Pancakes for Mrs. K. (with lemon zest!) and the Sweet Potato Tot Hash for me. Both were served quickly and still hot from the kitchen. We enjoyed it very much but big portions and so the remains ended up being reheated for breakfast the next day. A lovely location with delightful food and we enjoyed spending a good piece of our Saturday afternoon here. [Review 87 of 2025 - 1244 in South Carolina - 23655 overall]

It's been a little over a year since my last review so time for an update. Ben & I went for lunch on Tuesday. It was busy @ 1230p, 20 minute wait for a table so we sat @ the bar. It was fine, we got great service from Brittany who was my server last time. We each had the steak sandwich with grilled Brussels sprouts. I wanted the steak tacos but they only served with corn tortillas which we all know fall apart after the first bite. Ben also got the hot chicken Sando & the FM Burger 'to go'. We were both pleased with the steak sandwich though mine was just a little in the rare side. The fried egg, sunny side up was an interesting spin but liked the added protein option. Ben got a visit from Jason, now Manger after leaving the same post @ next door Hobo's. He said their lunch business had been steadily climbing for the last year. I really like their creative menu. They have a daily ' blue plate' lunch special.

Truly delicious! We had an amazing lunch and can't wait to return for dinner. (Worth the drive from Charlotte.) Brittany guided us through the menu and her enthusiasm and love of the restaurant came through! My fried chicken and waffle with hot honey was perfect. Very crisp chicken. Best I've ever had. And brussels sprouts. Will be hard not to order this again. The other meal was a spicy fried chicken sandwich- and it was also excellent.

Best breakfast in the area with outstanding coffee and warm, welcoming g service. Don't pass up on the amazing blueberry pancakes, the burger or either dishes with fried chicken, chicken and waffle or the chicken sandwich

Was driving back from Charleston and decided to stop in FM for dinner at FM Eatery which was along the way and had great ratings. Sat at the bar and Bridgette was the bar tender Started with an OMB Mecktoberfest. For an entree I ordered shrimp & scallops grits. Patiently waiting for my entree..... The entree arrived quickly and was consumed almost as quickly! Great meal. I enjoyed the seat on the scallops and the flavor of the sauce. The sausage and spinach and tomatoes added just the right texture and flavor. I highly recommend the shrimp & scallop grits and the FM Eatery in general. Great welcoming and relaxed place in small town Fort Mill.Cheers!

My ticket says her name was Nancy; she didn't introduce herself. I didn't like that she did not take orders from patrons in the order they arrived, she worked from the front. Since we were at the last table, others who came in after us placed their order while we just sat and waited. When she finally came to us, I asked about any specials. She showed that the poke bowls are $10. I got the ahi tuna one. It was very delicious. I saw a smoked peach old fashioned. It was ok. I guess the peach is smoked ahead of time and turned into a syrup, because my drink did not get smoked at all. Hubby bought a corona. Service of course was non existent because she was doing almost everything herself! I had to ask for more water on this 95+ degree day. Her busy ness is not her fault, that falls on management/scheduling. Tvs stay on sports. Looks like they have an upstairs space too. I can image they are packed for happy hour. I am rarely in this town, so I cannot say Ill be back. But I will recommend for others to go try!

Everything about our experience at The Improper Pig was absolutely perfect! From the moment we walked in, the decor and atmosphere stood out and hit all the marks, a few dust places but I'm assuming this place has been here awhile so let's call it that...but the attention to detail made the restaurant feel unique, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed in a warm way. The service was top-notch, with a friendly and attentive waitress she was more eager to fill our drinks than I was to drink lol but honestly she single handily was a beautiful train of productivity, the entire staff was, very impressed, that's a rare find these days and especially for the South. The manager, I imagine runs a tight ship...that helped make the experience even better. The biggest surprise was when my fried rice arrived at the table. The portion size was incredible for the price, mostly because and the quality of the food exceeded my expectations. It was flavorful, satisfying, and clearly made with technique. I will say the brisket on the barbecue plate my husband ordered was incredibly dry, the plethora of flavors of barbecue sauce on the table couldn't help it either...I'm thinking they reheat the meat for the bbq plates throughout the day (which makes sense) but they maybe need to consider another reheating method or I'm curious when the bbq is freshly made...I'd love to come in that day. Either way I truly left almost completely speechless...what a gem. We will be back to ensure it wasn't a one off type of day. It's not often that you find a place where the atmosphere, service, value, and food all come together so well...with techniques going in the kitchen. Whew! We had a wonderful experience and will absolutely be back!
