Finally made it to Corkscrew and I am already ready to go back. I feel like parking here can be a pain sometimes but we came during the middle of the day and there was plenty of spots available. Service was great. The gentleman assisting us was very helpful and informative. My friends and I had wine and cocktails, all of which were good quality. We also shared the bread service and the black truffle burrata. All of it was really good. The other menu items were tempting so I will have to come back soon to try more. Stopped in to check out the venue late afternoon on a quiet afternoon. The venue had a relaxing atmosphere with good music. It's not just a place to enjoy wine, there are spirits too. I'm a beginner wine sommelier...well not quite but in my mind I am. This spot can be described in one word: sexy! It's the most adorable spot to have a cocktail or glass of wine. Lofty and airy, the oversized blue sofas accented with copper side tables made me think of an episode of HGTV. It's super cozy and staff is amazing. I wish I could recall the bartender's name who was amazing at assisting me with my wine selection. We got there less than an hour before closing so I could only indulge in one glass and had to be intentional about my selection. The bartender let me sample the two I was torn between. I was considering the Delta when he mentioned the Hardin Napa Cabernet. Let me just say that the Hardin is heaven in a glass and worth every bit of $30 (with tip)!!! Every. Single. Bit. Stumbled across this dainty wine spot 10 minutes away from my house in the Kingsley area. Giving them 5 stars strictly for the area . We sat out on the Patio area while listening to a live band play outside across the way at a near by bar. The entire shopping area was lit , we felt like we were on the strip of Miami while walking around outside on a freakin weekday ! So long story short they do offer food and finger bites but when we arrived the last call for food orders was long gone so we opted for a glass of wine . They had pretty good wine specials going on . Had an absolutely bizarre experience here tonight. Let me preface this by saying after 10 years in the restaurant industry, I almost always tend to side with the staff in situations and give them massive benefit of the doubt. I asked "Employee 1" behind the bar if they had Chartreuse. He informed me they had both yellow and green. I asked if I could have The Last Word, with Amaro Montenegro instead of Luxardo. "Employee 2" started to gather the ingredients behind the bar, but seemed confused and while he asked for help he also seemed to not like being told where things were. Employee 1 who had disappeared into the back comes out with the Green Chartreuse to make me my Last Word. Employee 2 steps in front of him to shield him, says something to employee 1 and employee 1 returns to the back with the Green Chartreuse. Employee 2 now starts mixing my drink but uses Genepy (an alternative liqueur to Chartreuse but would never fool an informed customer). I ask employee 2 if he will be making the cocktail with Chartreuse and he pauses for a moment and then says no, without eye contact. I find this very strange given I was Told they had Chartreuse, and had just seen it. I told employee 2 that I didn't want it then, and wanted something else. He fed me some story about how they aren't authorized to use Chartreuse. They couldn't have disappointed a more forgiving customer, but also a more knowledge Chartreuse drinker. I was really disappointed and felt like I was being offered a muted experience at this point. Employee 1 came by a few minutes later and apologized on behalf of employee 2. A few minutes after that, employee 2 offered a less than authentic apology and said he would have to go research what their policy was. I asked him point blank if he was withholding it from me because he wanted to sell it on the secondary market. He denied and said they might have been trying to save it. For what...a paying customer...like me??? Absolutely bizarre. My default position is that someone on staff wanted it for themselves, to drink or to resell. I was perfectly happy with the substitute beverage they gave me, and the remainder of the evening was quite nice. The espresso martini and the other cocktails were top notch. I have no idea what to rate this place. Don't offer your customers something then attempt to sleight of hand at the last minute when mixing. read more

The ambiance is great - we actually sat in some lounging chairs around a table. I felt we were able to space out from others. They have a patio area as well. This is such a double edge review. There were 6 of us who showed up around 5pm on Saturday. We were told by the bartender that they will be closing for a private event at 7pm. No problem, we were just there to try a fancy cocktail. We chose to sit in a little lounge area with a couch and couple arm chairs. Very comfortable. Our server was good and drinks were great! Best espresso martini I've ever had. At approximately 6:25pm a woman came over to our area and aggressively swiped up all our drinks and waters without saying one word. We all looked at each other asking "did that just happen?" We were never informed of them needing us to leave at that time. We figured we could have finished our drinks as we had been working on paying the bill at this time. I asked to speak to the manager (because that is what we Karens do). And to my shock, the woman who behaved in that manner WAS the manager. I simply explained to her that she is allowed to use her words in her occupation and it would have been more appropriate to have explained to us that they needed the space and they were closing now. She could have cared less! Her attitude was nothing short of nasty and dismissive. Her name is Sara and I think she would be better off in an industry that does not require customer service. Due to the nasty way we were treated, not one of us will be returning. read more

Went here tonight, 10/24, for my girlfriend's birthday. We sat outside , where there were several tables full of people. Our waitress was non-existent. And they never even offered my friend a complimentary glass of wine for her birthday, which was made evident by the balloons we had on our table and by telling our waitress. I've been to Illumination in Fort Mill and that place is awesome. Comparing the two is like comparing a slug to a beautiful unicorn. And the food was not very good. Then when it was time to go, we had finished everything and again waited another 20 to 30 minutes for our waitress to return. So again I went inside and found her eating at the bar. I asked for our bill and a different waitress brought it out to us. I give this place an F and zero stars. If you want to pay a lot of money for a little bit of food and snobby waitresses, then this is the place for you. If you want a place that's warm with inviting people, huge delicious charcuterie boards, and great atmosphere, then go to Illumination in Fort Mill. Avoid this place! read more
