Date night out and this was the first place we thought of to try. The service was friendly and super attentive, atmosphere was casual yet also with a funky flair, and the food was to die for. We did a series of small plates, and sadly the camera did not get to eat first for all of them. The crab cakes and the smoked burrata were my absolute favorites, and my husband loved the mussels and the shrimp and jalapeño sausage skewers. Ended with the bitter Chocolate Pots de Crème pretzel and cocoa nib crumble, which was light and delicious - perfect way to end the meal. My husband and I decided to try FM Eatery for our anniversary. We were unaware that they took reservations and the restaurant was quite busy. However, the downtown main street was closed off, and they offered us a table outside which was lovey. We started with a few small bites (bacon wrapped dates, cheerwine short ribs, and the beet salad). The short rib was so tender and flavorful. The beet salad was fresh, light and delicious. We didn't love the dates. Afterwards we ordered the Crab stuffed flounder and diver scallops. Both were incredible!!! The crab stuffed flounder is very heavy, so be warned but we nearly finished it. The Scallops were served over pork confit and were melt-in-your-mouth amazing! Our 2nd order did take quite a bit of time; but even with no complaints, the manager stepped out to apologize. We were too stuffed for dessert, so we finished off our meal with an espresso martini. It was perfectly ice cold, strong and not overly sweet. The best espresso martini I have ever had. Had a great meal! We ordered 5 small plates to share. Here's what we ordered in order of favorite to least favorite (although we loved all the dishes): -Diver scallops with pork belly -Bacon-wrapped dates -Cheerwine braised beef with cheesy grits -Pork ribs with peanut slaw -Fried Brussels sprouts For dessert, we had the chef special: Biscoff bread pudding with cinnamon ice cream. I randomly decided on a Saturday night that I wanted to check out FM eatery. I went to the website and was unable to figure out how to make a reservation. I called the restaurant and was told that I could not make reservations for the same day, but they had space for me to walk in so I did. I happen to go on a day when there was some sort of festival happening in the area so the main street was blocked and I did have to park quite a distance away from the restaurant, which meant walking in the dark alone for about two blocks before I got to the restaurant. Upon arrival, the restaurant is small and somewhat noisy, but laid out well. The servers were friendly and attentive. My server answered all of my questions and made great recommendations. There are lots of unique options on the menu, and I was excited to try some of them out. I ended up going with the ricotta toast, the FM eatery shrimp, and the braised beef. There was not a dish that I could complain about. The Ricotta Toast was prepared with njuda , ricotta, avocado, and pistachio. It sounds like an odd combination. However, it was a perfect blend. The Cheerwine Braised Beef came with grits that were cooked well. Had I received the grits by themselves they may have felt underseasoned, but they were a perfect balance to the beef, which was tinder, and though cooked with Cheerwine, was not overly sweet. The shrimp with Worcestershire sauce was a surprise. I loved the Worcestershire sauce glaze, and it was served on a thick slice of sourdough with the shrimp on top. The bread soaked up the sauce, yet remained crusty on the edges and was delicious with the shrimp. There were like 20 other dishes that also caught my eye, but at this point, I was already stuffed! I ended up ordering the cheesecake panna cotta to go because I couldn't fit another bite in my tummy at that moment. But I can tell you, when I got home that Pana cotta was fabulous! To be fair, it was not a true panna cotta as it was definitely more set almost to a gelatin consistency. It did not have the wobble that you would expect a Panna cotta to have, but it had all of the flavor, and was an absolute joy to eat! I had the berry Mocktail for my beverage, and it was quite refreshing. Not too sweet with just the right amount of fruit. Overall, I would definitely return to FM eatery and will be dining there and checking out some of those other dishes I wasn't able to fit in this first time around I can't wait! read more

We had to take an early reservation on a Friday. I had a yummy cocktail and it was beautifully presented. We both had fresh salads with textures and tastes that were delightful. We both ordered from the small plates menu which was diverse. I had crab cakes that were big and satisfying. My husband had a large bowl of mussels. What an unexpected treat, gourmet food in little Fort Mill! The fried chicken and waffle small plate was crispy and delicious and my companions raved about the crab cakes, and special chicken soup. Our wait staff, Gabby and trainee Tami were efficient and genuinely friendly. But my absolute favorite was the Butterfly Effect cocktail, created by barista par excellence Brittany. I can't believe how awesome the FM Eatery is right in the heart of downtown Fort Mill, SC. In fact; if you are ever passing through, it's less than 10 min from the interstate. Went early on a Saturday morning and were first in the door. We were seated immediately and amazed by the beautiful ambiance, warm decor and friendly service. The coffee is VERY strong so I'm steering clear of that and opted for a classic mimosa which I was hoping would be a tad larger in size but that's just me. Highly recommend the oink-a-doodle-moo; cheesy grits, bacon bites, chicken sausage, eggs, it's heaven! Glad they're doing weekend brunch, it's such a great spot and very much needed in downtown FM. This was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. For our appetizers, we started with the Sweet Potato Tots and Bacon-Wrapped Dates, and both were absolutely outstanding. The Sweet Potato Tots were perfectly crispy with a soft, flavorful interior, while the Bacon-Wrapped Dates offered a delicious balance of sweet and savory that was simply addictive. For our main courses, we ordered the Big Bang Burger and the Crispy Skin Duck Leg, and both dishes were phenomenal. We walked in at 5ish pm for a table of 3 + 10 month old baby. The wait would've been over an hour and there was just no way we would be able to wait with the baby however the manager was kind enough to accommodate us and I'm so glad he did! My husband and father in law ordered the toasted old fashion and it smelled so pleasant! I had one of their zero proof drinks which was fresh and nice to have as a non alcoholic option. For appetizers we ordered Country ribs - so good. Loved the picked slaw and the peanut butter wasn't overbearing but just enough to give the dish some extra flavor Mushroom fricasse - my absolute favorite. If you're a vegetarian you have to try this. It was so perfect I can't even explain. The bread was toasted so well and the mushrooms were so flavorful. My favorite part of all of this is nothing was bland! PEI mussels- my least favorite but it was still finished at the table, the bread was fabulous. Personally, would not order again because I would like to try something else. For the main course we decided against the big plates route and decided to order more variety of things to try. BBQ beef sliders- so good, melt in your mouth. 2 sliders would easily make a meal and 1 slider after all of those appetizers was very filling. Shrimp and NCH jalapeño sausage skewer - this came off a hint saltier than I would like but sausage was very good. I'm very particular with shrimp so would probably swap this out with something else next time. Beet salad- very good I really appreciated the presentation. Again my favorite part of this restaurant was that not a single dish was bland. Everything was cooked with intention and it showed! Because of the baby we didn't have a chance to eat dessert at the restaurant so took the cheesecake panna cotta to-go and I'm so happy with how it worked out! The lemon definitely makes the cake! For our first time eating here we all had an incredible experience and would recommend this place to all of our family and friends. There aren't many places in Charlotte that really blow me away, but this place absolutely did. Everything about it was perfect. It's fine dining with a cozy, local feel that somehow lets you know that you're eating some incredible food, but it's not so stuffy or pretentious to make you feel out of place. Prices are not outrageous, the service was perfect. I ordered braised beef tacos (delicious) and a duck confit gnocchi (SO good). My wife ordered a salad and a soup... my son (8) got chicken and waffles off of the kid's menu and it was also extremely tasty. My daughter ordered the burger, which I REALLY wanted to try, but I was stuffed by the end of the meal and couldn't. I'll absolutely be back... looking forward to trying the burger very soon.
