Well-designed and laid-back space just past the main drag in Columbia City. Outdoor seating was lovely on a summer evening and the bartender let me sample the two NA options I was interested in, which was a nice touch. Great option for a group meetup. No food, so we ordered from delicious City Taco across the street.

Flying Lion is a nice community spot where you can enjoy drinks with your friends. The beer is great, vibes are even better, and this is a no-tip spot as they pay their employees living wages. They have seating inside and in the outdoor patio, where they're always featuring cute plants. As with a lot of bars in this area, they don't serve food, but you are allowed oto bring your own. Their merch seems to be nice quality as well.

One of the best breweries here in Seattle. I wonder why it took me so long to explore this brewery here on Rainier Ave. we stopped by on a Friday evening with 8 other friends and were luck to get a table here. We loved their Levitator Doppleback, Sunday Gold Lager, Sour cherry Asian Perry, Belgian Quaddammit. Thats all we ordered but my friends loved everything they ordered too. The brewery is small and cozy. There is some outdoor seating and some indoor space. This place is hustling with people especially on weekends. We loved the vibe and coupled with great beers this is a perfect place to enjoy and welcome the weekend or any weekday I am certain. They are dog and kids friendly. They dont have a kitchen but you can bring your own food or order in from restos near by. Parking can be a pain but you will find street parking for sure. All in all I will be back here for more and frequent enough.

Pros: great brews, cool atmosphere, friendly bartender, clean, awesome music, plenty parking Cons: small so limited seating

Top 5 brewery in Seattle area, no joke. This place has only been around for 8 years, but they know exactly what they are doing. The taps..spectacular. They have something for everyone...dark unique porters/stouts, Juicy IPAS, and Visiting Ciders. And the vibe is exactly what I look for in a local brewery. Not big and in your face, but still makes enough of a statement from the seating around the kegs inside, to the barrel seating under the heaters outside, to the super welcoming enjoyable staff. LOVE IT! Pro tip: the Kenyan restaurant right next door is LIT! The food is amazing on its own, but the fact that you can order and they will bring it to you at the brewery...nothing better! Good food + good beer. It's done. Another great benefit is that this location seems heavy in the downtown Columbia City area, but there is a parking lot for the brewery which is great! Don't stress about paying for parking like we did!

cheers

well crafted and curated atmosphere. delicious Velvet Uppercut Belgian Strong and Express Lane Blood Orange Red IPA. fun space!

This place has a fantastic selection of delicious beers of many styles. Highly recommend for anyone who likes dark beers, Belgians, etc.

First off, I appreciate that Flying Lion stays open late! Some breweries close around 10, but Fl is open until midnight. Their menu has a nice variety of beers, including sours and IPAs and lots more. There's something for everyone here! Not huge at all, but they have nice outdoor seating with comfortable bar stools and hooks to hang your purse or bag (and lots of counter space!) Beertenders are friendly and attentive. Like many breweries, they allow food, so I recommend grabbing dinner next door at Safari Njema (amazing Kenyan food)--they will bring the food right over to you so you can enjoy it with your beer. Just make sure to call early since they get VERY busy. Cheers!

Roggen!

While the beer was okay, the vibe was off. It is definitely a "locals only" bar. My partner and I didn't feel welcome.

My favorite to go when in the area. Prices for a flight make it worth it. Plus they are constantly changing what beer is on tap.

Old Stove Brewing - Pike Place

Came in on a Friday night and learned that Old Stove Brewing gets busy for a reason! All the…read moreoutdoor tables were full when we arrived at 6, so we put our name on the list for inside and waited about 30 minutes. The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

Outside seating is first come first serve and inside seating you have to see a hostess. We started outside and saw someone leaving and circle them like vultures. We got lucky, it was 4th of July weekend, so it was busy! We ordered pizza for the table and for my toddler. It was really good! He loves the pepperoni. My order was the salmon burger. They used a good slab of coho, nicely seasoned with a aioli. The fries were crunchy and nice. I shared with my husband and it was just right, since we had a bunch of apps at the market. We also got a round of beers. Or in my case I got their hard seltzer, which wasn't too bad, I would probably just get a light beer next time. Service was great outside! Also you get the nice breeze, they also had heaters on top. Picnic style tables and quick service!

They have ample indoor and outdoor spaces that are perfect during the summertime and pretty much any time throughout the year because of its flexible layout, fireplace, and scattered heat lamps outside. Everything was fine until an employee came up behind us, reached over our shoulders, took my partner's still half-full drink, and threw it away. Didn't say anything. Didn't explain why. We were so stunned in the moment, we didn't think to argue. Even the other patrons sitting next to us also looked really startled. It was only when the initial surprise wore off that one of them spoke up and said, "I think it's because your drink can't be in the can. It has to be in a glass cup." Now, I wasn't with my partner when they ordered their drink at the front counter (I don't really drink much, and I was in the bathroom at the time), so whether the situation was: A) my partner paid at the counter and took the drink (still in the can), thinking everything was a done deal or B) the employee at the front forgot to pour the drink in the apparently required glass cup before giving it to my partner ~ I have no idea ~ Whichever scenario it was, what I DON'T understand is why the employee who took the drink couldn't have explained the situation to us and offered a glass cup in the moment? Or why an employee didn't stop my partner from walking away with the drink at the very beginning when he purchased it so that it could be poured in the requisite cup? Bare minimum: why was the apparent rule not explained at any point? I tried looking for signs in the patio area that stated the rule after the fact, but I could not see any. Maybe I'm blind?? Maybe this is a Seattle thing? But if it's a Seattle thing, why did the people sitting next to us (who seemed like locals) also seem surprised by the behavior? Even if at least some of them were maybe aware of the rule, at the very least they seemed just as startled as we were to witness an employee take away a customer's ~already paid for drink~ no explanation. Disclaimer: this was back in late February-early March of 2026, so if they have since added such signs - great, perfect, love it - but I only just got around to writing this review now. 7 months later. Because I suddenly remembered and felt the need to warn others who plan on going here (especially if you're from out-of-town and they haven't added signs): make sure your drink is in a glass cup or else someone might come up behind you and throw it away.

It was a nice summer day, but we were quite fortunate to find a parking spot along the road with no issues. The only thing to note is that in this area, you need to reverse park. Once we walked on site, it was super busy. Mostly because there was a run club meeting at Gasworks Brewing, but even so it was just as busy once the rub club started to disperse out. The line to order food and drinks was LONG, but it surprisingly moved fast. I ordered a Double Smash Burger (1/4lb patty, grilled onions, American cheese, garlic aioli, and brioche bun) and Prickly Pear Margarita. I didn't anticipate getting an alcoholic beverage, but a lot of people were getting this particular one! My friend also ordered fries for the three of us to share.
