This location definitely does a lot better in terms of service and consistent quality of the food. Even though the location in Pearland is closer, it definitely lacks customer service qualifies & the food is a hit and miss mostly. We got here around 8:30p and there was a usual wait time but the hostess were around to let us know who was next and what was going on, so at least there was an organization to them. Following, our waiter was efficient and friendly and didn't overly check on us or forgot about us. The food came out promptly. We had 5lbs of the crawfish with the corn and potatoes (crawfish will still be small as of now) but they were tasty and well seasoned. The dozen half shell oysters were delicious (if topped right with hot sauce and crawfish seasoning). They definitely made the chicken and sausage gumbo so good tonight! Not too salty and not too luke warm when arriving. Also, the crab bisque my boyfriend had was well made tonight too! The other location had the food pretty much cold by the time it came out and it wasn't as creamy. Overall, service and quality of the food was great tonight! I wanted to try something different for my birthday and visited Floyd's seafood restaurant in Webster TX today which is 03/18/2022. My husband and I had to look around to find someone to assist us with a table. After that, we ordered happy hour oysters which wasn't that pleasant. Also, spinach & artichoke dip that I Could not eat the chips were burnt and I can't even explain the dip. I decided not to order anything else and go to Tommy's which always have given us great service and food. Wish I would have had a better review to give being this was our first visit. read more

The shrimp embrochette was so Damn small the bacon covered the shrimp. It wasn't even fresh it was dry! When you go out to eat on your anniversary and spend good money you expect certain things to be a given. Here our entree was brought out before the appetizer, there were no utensils (we had to ask for them), and when we ordered I specifically asked if there was certain ingredients on top of the entree. When they brought the entree out there was eveything on top that they told me there wasn't. It was covered in green onions in which I am allergic to which is why I asked. After dinner we ordered coffee and cake, but when they brought it I again had to ask for utensils and sweetener for our coffee. If I'm going to go out and spend $50 on a meal, I somewhat expect to get decent service. The original one in Houston, doesn't compare with this one in any way, shape, or form. read more

It was Al around not very good food. The steaks where very tender but not very flavorful. The batters they use is kinda bland. If you like brown gravy gumbo then you will love this gumbo. My grandsons chicken tenders was good but I got a big chunk of crab shell in the batter of the chicken tenders. read more

I love the Floyd's in pearland, and was pleasantly surprised to see one in Webster when we had to run errands in this area. So we decided to try this location. Dinner started with a side Caesar salad. (8.99) it was tiny & had some rotten pieces of lettuce. They exclaim homemade dressing on the menu, but I would have been more satisfied with a bag of salad at Heb. A gnat crawled across the table as I waited for my entree. I ordered the shrimp poboy (15.99) they should have been butterfly shrimp. I felt like they put popcorn "kids meal" shrimp on it. All the breading was falling off. No flavor. I did not finish. We also got the chicken fried steak (17.99). Guys seriously, they made the potatoes look fancy but the texture and flavor of the steak was that of a TV dinner. Highly disappointed . On the bright side, the waitress was nice but she wasn't attentive...no refills throughout whole dinner...and the fries were hot and palatable.(2 stars for that ) I would not return. The food was old and under cooked. The Oysters tasted like they just been removed off of a salty beach, inedible, meaning they tasted like beach salt and dirt. The dirty rice was cold and clumpy and old. The fondue which was always a favorite was not even melted or cooked. The bacon wrapped shrimp there are no words how small, old looking and tasting. We were told their grill was not functioning so they were trying to bake everything, and it just went bad. They compensated us with a $5.00 coupon OMG REALLY! Service was good. The crab bisque was so salty I couldn't finish it. We had the crab stuffed jalapeños, the stuffing was very sticky not good at all. The "famous" seafood salad 3 shrimp crab flakes not worth the money. I tried it with 2 different dressings. We will not go back! read more

The only thing that gives this a 3 from 1 is the service was pretty damn good. I frequent Pearland Floyd OFTEN, same menu and such a terrible surprise how everything here was compared the other store. The sauce for the alligator was almost like water normally nice and thick. The cerviche again way too runny compared to the Pearland locations the drinks from the bar didn't even taste the same. Shame Floyd himself doesn't read this he'd be pissed. I've had my welcome home party from Afghanistan at the Pearland location I introduced many new fans but this out at the Webster location was horrible, dirty plates and utensils dinner before appetizer. I've been to Floyd's quite a few times, and I've always had a good experience, except tonight. The food is always good, and tonight was no exception, but I couldn't help noticing that the staff had completely turned over since my last visit a couple of months ago. The service was not good. The hostess was unwilling to seat us on the patio because "it's too hot." It was 7:30 pm, and the sun was going down. I said we really wanted to sit on the patio (it played a large part in my decision to eat there) so she said she would "ask the servers". She came back in a few minutes and said, "No one is willing to serve you on the patio because it's too hot". I'm not ok with that. I think if I'm willing to sit outside, and they have outside seating, some 20 year old waiter should not be able to determine my ability to do so. Our server was very young and not very good. So, the food was good, as always, but why should I go back this summer? I really don't have any reason to. read more

Very disappointed. Waitress ignored us for so long another one had to bring us drinks and take our order. Chicken fried steak was soggy and greasy and gravy was literally solid. Wasn't impressed. Understand the size of the crawfish is due to the season, but the sesasoning was mediocre and the crawfish itself was mushy. They were either falling apart to the touch or were so soft you couldn't even peel it to get to the meat. The raw oysters were pretty good on the other hand, but it would be something hard to mess up. The gumbos were a joke. The most watery and flavorless gumbo I've ever had. The grilled oysters were over done with toppings that it was all you could taste. We left unsatisfied and still hungry. Top of my list in Beaumont! Bar trash is the bomb. The chicken and sausage gumbo is second to none. Great seafood, my crawfish half and half plate was more than I could eat! I almost forgot about the buttered French toast, I could make a meal off that alone! Great atmosphere! I am native Cajun, born & reared in Acadia Parish, now live in New Orleans. Floyd's was a chain, started by the congenial Floyd Landry, Cousin of the famous "Don's" Landrys of Lafayette restaurant fame. Floyd knows his stuff. His partner, Brett (?) Floyd is the business guy. All "Floyd's" in the Houston area are not still run by the original Floyd. The only two locations I will endorse are the Gulf Freeway and Beaumont locations. Floyd's dishes are authentic and very good. His boiled crawfish are from rice fields in Acadia Parish and ARE THE BEST IN TEXAS. This place is very good & authentic. Rick read more

After a terrible meal here recently, my family and I will not be returning. There are too many other decent places in the area at which to have dinner. I don't need to pay their prices for a totally underwhelming meal! Excluding the grilled shrimp which was just average (small and too salty) everything else was terrible! The crawfish were totally bland - the worst I have had, and I have eaten crawfish at many, many places since I moved here in 1980. That, itself, would have been a "deal-breaker", but the seafood gumbo was way too runny and the hush puppies were beyond greasy, they were inedible. Like I said, we will not be back. read more

This place was awful! Grilled catfish had chunks that weren't cooked. Fried catfish had grease sitting on the plate. I was pleasantly surprised to find a place with good Cajun food after Floyd's on 1960 closed down. Food here was pretty spot on in terms of authenticity. My husband and I split a bowl of their seafood gumbo. Apparently they don't put okra in their seafood or shrimp gumbos to "appease the Texas palate"...I'm just wondering...since when do people in Texas not like okra??? However, the gumbo was fantastic. The roux was nice and dark and thin. The crab didn't appear to be lump meat, but it was delicious, as well as the shrimp. My only request was that the gumbo be served a tad hotter (termperature), but otherwise, it's one of the best I've had. I had Bubba's shrimp platter, which came with grilled shrimp, stuffed shrimp, a couple fried shrimp and two sides. I went with Floyd's potatoes and the homemade onion rings. The entire plate was a winner. My husband found the grilled shrimp to be a little bland, but I liked them. The stuffed shrimp were more like battered than stuffed; they were plump and filling. The tartar sauce was perfect too. The onion rings were very flavorful and crisp and the potatoes were nicely seasoned with onions and bell peppers. My husband had the half crawfish plate with red beans and rice and hand cut fries. He raved about the red beans and rice...it was very smoky and had a ton of sausage. The fries...well, those were awesome. Super crunchy and oddly enough...reheated in a toaster oven tasted almost as good as when they were fresh. Also, the crawfish were extremely plentiful...a half order looked like a full. It's a rarity to see places give generous orders of seafood. Most places skimp on the seafood and give you tons of fries. Not Floyd's. Nothing about the service was slow. Our server was incredibly friendly and quick. He was very apologetic when they forgot to bring out our sides. Food came out in a good amount of time. This is solid Cajun food. It's a long drive, but no doubt I will be back. read more

Oysters on the half shell: the raw were excellent, the grilled Parmesan were average. They took a while and the waitress explained that there is one guy shucking them and preparing them and he's kind of lazy, so she said be prepared to wait. The bisque was flavorless. Wouldn't get that again! The Cajun pasta was good, it's a huge serving. Seafood was plentiful. I wish the menu would've said it had mushrooms, as the other pasta dish specified it had mushrooms. But they were big pieces, so I pulled out what I could. He had the stuffed flounder...and his complaint was the number of bones. Plus, I thought his crab stuffing was more stuffing and less crab. He got one of the specialty sauces on top, although I can't remember which one (it was the first one on the list) and he liked it. Friends had: flounder with crab on top, and it was okay. Still had the bone issue. French fries were excellent, although not hot. Sad about that. Onion rings were good too. Hush puppies were, well, hush puppies. The back room was hot. Just a warning.
