FOOD WITH BEAUTY! A MUST TRY--FLOWER CHILD! Easter Sunday couldn't think of a better place to go! This place caught my eye a while back, but I've never tried it. It's located in The District at Green Valley Ranch off the 215! You can't miss this adorably stylish building! Entered into this serene garden like place that had me looking everywhere. It was very engaging. You order your food inside the front door entrance where the menu is above at a counter. The lady taking the order was ever so helpful and patient. She recommended some really amazing dishes to try and while you're looking at the menu there, there are homemade muffins and cookies at your fingertips. Your senses start to get flooded with goodness here. Just past the order counter is a gorgeous open kitchen where you see chef's intensely preparing the food. Everything smells amazing here and the plates coming off the food line look so good. OMG. Finally picked out something to eat and went and picked out a table. It's self seating and within minutes, the food is already out to the table served by very charming team members. I was out with my daughter so we both picked something that was preferable to our taste. Her dish, the Mediterranean Chicken was pretty detailed and very colorful. She said the food was outstanding. She had never tried anything with so much variety. I was a little bit more on the safe side and picked a simple salad with turkey and avocado, and some extras. The vinaigrette dressing was so unique and delicious alone. The salad was very fulfilling. The atmosphere was so relaxing in a space with sound where you can have a nice conversation. Loved the vaulted ceilings. Dining room and patio was about half full mid afternoon and everyone looked so happy. As if they were all regulars plotted to be in this scene I was in. By the way, the patio looks so pretty straight out of a catalog. Upon leaving, the same people that greeted us a warm welcome also gave us a grateful goodbye. Very nice people here! This is my second time having Flower Child. My family ate there on Easter and we all enjoyed it. I don't have a wide palate. I had the steak, mashed potatoes and fresh fruit. We also had the queso. We enjoyed everything. We chose this place because my sister and her son and vegan. Fast forward to today. She offered to bring me something cause she was getting a pick up order. I wanted to try the avocado Caesar salad with steak. I wanted to split this into 2 meals. Half of the lettuce is not fresh at all. I would assume they would cut their lettuce. But it must be bagged. And who made this salad and saw these pieces and figured they were ok? For a $20 I should not have to pick out old pieces. Is there no quality control? I'm at home too, babysitting, so it's not like I'm there and request it to be remade. What a waste of money. read more

Definitely recommend Flower Child for anyone who is interested in healthier eating. Portions are very small, but it shows how much the recommended amount should be compared with the amount we consume on the daily basis. Definitely worth eating here! This was my first time visiting in the Green Valley location. My friend suggested that we go for lunch at Flower Child. There is complimentary fruit infused drinking water by the entrance, suggesting to hydrate yourself while waiting to get inside. It's very refreshing especially during the summer when days are super hot. After stepping inside, immediately find yourself by the ordering counter and the register. The menu is on the wall, above the counter. After ordering your meal, immediately pay for it, and receive a numbered card what you place on your table so the waiter/waitress can find you with your meal. Drink station is by the wall, which includes flavored teas and lemonade with free refills. I have been to Flower Child in their other location on the west side of town and ate different types of food there. At this time, I wanted to try something different, so I have decided to order the Peruvian Braised Beef bowl. The beef was tender and tasty. Came with a side of rice, pickled onions, and pickled veggies. The sauce was on the side in a little bowl, and I was very happy with that, because it was very spicy. I don't like spicy stuff! My friend ordered a Salmon entree, and it was delicious too. Both of us had unsweetened fruit teas and loved it because we didn't want to put sugar in it. It was a beautiful day, so we were able to enjoy our lunch outside, on the patio. There were plenty of tables and chairs both inside and outside. Overall, the quality is there with Flower Child and everything they offer. They offer a lot of options for food sensitivities and unique offerings. I got a poke, which was an insanely full bowl with edamame, avocado, seaweed salad and much more. It was super flavorful and filling. I also got their lemonade, which was just the right amount of tart. Their carrot cake muffin which was gluten free didn't taste as such and was quite moist. The decor was nice, bright and inviting. The service was very friendly but there was a hiccup when they delivered my food with sesame seeds on it when I had indicated I was allergic at the cash register. This is a charming, casual spot with great food. Food is healthy but also tasty. It can be noisy and busy, especially if you have a larger party (we had 6 people). We had the queso with the vegan chorizo. Very tasty! I had the steak entree with cauliflower "risotto" and Kung Pao cauliflower. This was excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly. The Kung Pao cauliflower had great taste and a little kick to it. I also had some rose petal lemonade. I'm not usually into anything added to lemonade, but this was really good. Sad it's taken so long to finally try it but I'm absolutely a fan!! We came out of an afternoon of appointments and wanted to talk and not eat crap. They offer infused water and set the standard before even entering. I didn't know what to expect but quickly figured out the ropes. You order, get your dessert there (if ordered), and serve yourself basically everything else. Elijah helped us and he is EVERYTHING! The menu can be a lot if it's your first time in, and trying to go through it all with people behind you can be intense if you're unprepared. I saw the dip and instantly knew that's what I wanted. Mom took a bit longer. Elijah was terribly patient but also very knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended the chicken enchiladas, and that's what she ordered. We also did the Thai lettuce wraps and lemon olive oil cake. We found a cute table and I went and got our drinks and tableware. I love the drink selections. Idk if they're rotated or all the time but the rose lemonade was very good. I livened it up w some passion fruit black tea. Our food came out pretty quickly and was plated beautifully. I forgot to mention what a vibe it is inside. Super bright, cute and inviting. Loved the music, even shazamed a song to add to my playlist. The employees were all really kind. We had to go back to get our Christmas catering order at Whole Foods the next day so we decided to stop by again. We called in an order for the ginger miso crunch salad and, you guessed it another order of lettuce wraps. Elijah took our order. He's so sweet and polite! He said it wouldn't take long it was slower at the moment, but we were just across the street so we just went. It was raining so the infused water was inside. I got a cup and got to study the menu more whilst waiting. This is the kind of place you frequent. It's fresh, healthier than a lot of places, tasty and easy. Okay so I've been to Flower Child like 4 times now, and every single time I get the forbidden rice with salmon because it's just THAT good. But today I finally decided to be adventurous and swapped the salmon for tofu. Not gonna lie, I still prefer the salmon, but the tofu was still seriously delicious! My husband got the tofu with mixed vegetables and brown rice, and he said it was good but... he liked mine better (Can't blame him honestly!) Everything here is so fresh and high quality, you can literally taste the difference. It's one of those places where you just know they care about what they're putting out. Also, the staff is always super friendly and welcoming, which honestly makes the whole experience even better. Simply yummy and balanced food. The vines are casual but the vibes are cute. Although it feels like quick-service, the quality of food is definitely not cheap. I don't know how they manage to be so consistent, their steak is always cooked well - better than can be said at many actual steakhouses. The Moroccan Sweet Potato is one of my favorites. Our recent order consisted of a Turkey Avocado Cobb Salad, Chicken Yakisoba Noodles, Salmon Plate, and their yummy sweet potato fries!! If you end up with a sweet tooth after your meal, you must try their gluten-free Chocolate Chip Cashew Cookie! The interior feels like a spacious, modern farmhouse with fresh flowers at the tables. There is both indoor and patio seating and it can get really busy, with a line out the door sometimes. Therefore, I like to order Take-Out...there's a separate door for this! I am fortunate to not have any dietary restrictions and don't always make the healthiest choices if there are tastier options on the menu - but I feel like this place makes it easy to eat clean and enjoy it! Both times that I've visited I've had great experiences. My coworker recommended the steak bowl so I've had that both times, while switching up the side selection since there's so many options. The decorations, lighting and seating caught my attention. The staff were very helpful and friendly! We appreciated that! I liked how we were able to order first. They gave us a number to place on the table and the staff brought us our food. We both ordered a steak plate. It also came with two sides. For mine, I got the cauliflower risotto and the asparagus and white bean salad. My husband also got the cauliflower risotto with broccoli. I really enjoyed my dish! The steak was made medium with good enough seasoning. The cauliflower risotto was light and creamy and I could taste the coconut. The asparagus and white bean salad was delicious! The veggies in there were super fresh and the pesto went well with it! My husband enjoyed his meal too. His steak was not as medium as mine and his broccoli was very salty. You order at the counter and get a number, they make the food fresh to order and bring it out to you. We loved both the dishes we got and devoured them both. The space is very bright and welcoming. They also have a Togo/pick up zone if you order ahead. I will say the entrance is very small. I stopped by here finally and will return. The "small portions" reviews kept me away but now I understand. Their menu lists calories per item which few restaurants will do. I do not think this is a good reason to avoid the place but if you want more food, order more food. They also have meat not only vegan. I disliked the order at entrance setup. There was a second ordering area but unused and while there everyone crowded around the entrance door due to no line system. The waitress (1) or food delivery person was overwhelmed. Several tables were covered in dirty plates. One person shut down food delivery because he went on a soap box speech about how the food was dry and not spicy enough. Order at counter, get your own drinks, silverware, and wait isn't the best experience but the food was good. Bean burrito was tasty. Avocado hummus was good and delivered before entrees. The salmon was a small portion but with the two large sides it was filling. I don't think they know how to cook salmon as it was dry and unseasoned as most are probably vegan/vegetarian. read more

Sangria and beer options are a must if you sit in the patio. The cold sesame noodles are my absolute favorite. I'd say the only hiccup is that it is marked up on more of a premium. It was there I tried the black bean falafel wrap and the forbidden rice and it was so delicious I had to come home and get it here! My hubby and I split both dishes which was perfect. I think they should change the name because you can't even taste the black bean (which is good because I'm not a fan). It's more like a delicious healthy falafel wrap with tangy salad and fresh veggies inside. The rice is hearty and a flavor explosion in your mouth with so many fresh herbs - you can't help but feel good eating this. The lemon gf muffin we split was moist and lemony. This is a good place to go for healthy food, but I really prefer to be seated first and then calmly look at a menu. It's not comfortable to try and figure out all the offerings. The two times I went I felt rushed. I hate trying to figure out what to get from the extensive menu while people are lining up behind me.
