the Vegas heat is really putting a stop on my appetite..but then it could be I'm still recovering from Heat Stroke Stomach Flu after hitting up Luxe Buffet's Seafood Oyster Bar in Ontario California and proceeding to Phoenix for the day. But yes, I was across the street grabbing some replenishables for my rig because I live on the road-- sadly. But on the bright side, I get to be everywhere and taste restaurants across the country, so not too bad. And today while delivering a load to Amazon LAS1 in Henderson, I decided to have lunch here at Block 9 Thai Street Eats. I like the layout. Ngl. If this restaurant opened in Steamboat Springs or say maybe Granby Colorado, the locals would probably storm in day and night. A blend of murals reminding you of that dream world created by Maurice Sendak in the book Where the Wild Things Are, and traditional Thai wood colors and pottery decorate the restaurant. I like the hues, the blues complementing the warm earth tones with dim yellow lighting fixtures. Ok, so the ambiance gets a 5/5. The food? This place is an order first then sit type of joint. I really and no idea what to get. Again the heat probably is restricting my appetite, but I went with a Chicken Penang, a Thai Hibiscus Lemonade and a Chicken Satay Appetizer. NGL, in regards to the chicken Satay, due to its overly dry and lack of moistureness, I think Alot of people will score better at a cheap Chinese buffet serving chicken skewers. 'because there's really no difference, I had one skewer and hesitated finishing the second. Maybe convert to chicken Thigh meat? Something with more fat built into it. The Penang gets a pass, but was nothing on the level of "I have to finish it right now," and probably because of the heat, I enjoyed the Hibiscus tea the most. For anyone that wants to experience really good chicken that maintains its moisture and just somehow ended up in Los Angeles, go check out Gravitea Food Truck in San Gabriel CA. And order their Taiwanese Fried Chicken. They use Chicken Breast by the way, but they're able to retain all the juice and moisture in the chicken. So where was I, loved the tea, ate the Penang, want to skip the Satay. Overall I'm giving this place a 4/5. Overall vibes, sounds, food presentation, and service is above average. Probably need to come at night some time in the future for the bar scene. read more

We finally stopped into Bangkok 9 Thai Street Eats and were pleasantly surprised. The red curry immediately reminded us of an old favorite Thai spot we used to love that sadly closed, so that alone was worth the visit. We also ordered the basil chicken and pork skewers with sticky rice. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and hit the spot. The pork skewers were especially good paired with the sticky rice. A very cute and different vibe of Thai restaurant from other Thai spots in Vegas. It's casual but with fun and exotic interior design. There's no server coming to you. You order and pay at the counter first, get the number, and the food will be brought to your table. The menu is rather simple, just like what you might eat at your Thai friends' house, but the flavor is legit. The best thing here is they accommodate a lot of choice of gluten free items, and you can definitely customize your food for health concerns or allergy reasons. In absolutely love this fast casual street food vibe here. The art work the decor is creative and I love the food. If you've ever dined at Nittaya Kitchen in the northwest the food is equally delicious. The service however was very mixed. The gentleman at the counter was very short and I felt rushed although it wasn't busy. I forgot the spinach salad but will def return. My gosh, by far my favorite Thai place to get red curry! Hold me back, I absolutely love coming back for their food. Panang Chicken Curry and the Red Curry with Shrimp is so delicious!!! They make it really well and service is really attentive. They are helpful and make sure our order is always correct. It may get busy if it's a rush and you have to wait awhile for your food but absolutely worth it. There Are a lot of seats inside and outside for dine-in. Wow Block 9 is such a beautiful and inviting restaurant the moment you walk in! Beautiful colorful murals all over the walls. Makes you feel like you're actually in Thailand on Block 9. The menu is based on the vibrant street food culture of Thailand. Just order your food at the counter and take a seat inside or on the outside patio and they will bring you your order when it's ready. The food was so delicious and authentic. I am visiting my parents in Henderson and came across this in my feed, so we went and gave it a try last night. Parking was great so was definitely off to a great start. There were a lot of people having dinner but we didn't have to wait and got seated. We ordered the spinach salad, pad thai, pad see ew, thai beef salad, green curry and the kao soi. The spinach salad was the family favorite. Everyone loved it! Each bite was just pure perfection. The pad thai was on the sweet side but still had a good flavor. The pad see ew was my daughter's favorite. Who doesn't love a good pad see ew? The curry had a kick but it was tasty. Thai beef salad was the perfect amount of freshness with the beef. I think the least favorite was the kao soi, it wasn't anything special. The noodles were bouncy but the flavor wasn't anything great. We also ordered the bread pudding and the donuts. The donuts were delicious with the caramel sauce. The bread pudding wasn't what we were expecting and seemed a bit flavorless. Just tasted like sweet bread. The staff was super friendly and helpful too. It was quiet and clean so definitely felt at ease with my daughters. OMGosh, I could eat here EVERYDAY if they were closer to LLV. It is EXCELLENT- ordered the chicken red curry then got an order of the red veggie curry to go so I could mix it with my left overs. My wife and I were saying the bread pudding got out at the right time when we got done with the entrees (placed the pudding in hold per request). A bit pricey but it is worth it. The highlight of the entrees were the shrimp (deep fried in coconut flakes and served with sweet chili sauce) and the bbq pork skewers with sticky rice and a sauce that was tangy/vinegary/& sweet. My wife loves pad see ew and she really loved their pad see ew. I actually loved it too. The dessert was not disappointing either. Tastes amazing and soft and warm. It would've gone even better with vanilla custard ice cream like from Neilson's. The vanilla ice cream was still good but I'm not a big fan of sherbet type ice cream. Still good though! I'm a fan. I started with the spinach salad- delighted that every single leaf was battered and deep fried. It was novelty, but not delish. I've been here a few times now. They are a Sister restaurant to Nataya secret kitchen. The world, famous spinach salad is a must try. One of my favorite things at this spot is their drunken noodle. This is more of a walk up in order at the counter type of place. They will bring your food to you and some water, but that's pretty much it. The ambience is great. They have a mural and a bunch of authentic food items set up as decoration. It's a pretty solid Thai food spot and they also have lunch specials during the week. The restaurant has a cool vibe and is meticulously cleaned. The reason it can't be rated higher is the value for money. This place is tucked in a strip mall by Burlington Coat Factory and Hobby Lobby - don't be fooled, you are headed in the right direction. Order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. There is a nice outdoor patio in addition to indoor seating. We arrived 30 min before close and they recommended we sit outside - for as long as we want. They close everything down inside at closing and apparently usher people out. Solid food. We got basil chicken, pineapple curry and fried rice. I've seen this place next to Hobby Lobby and have always wanted to try it out, and I finally got a chance to. I walked in, and the place was beautifully decorated and themed. The wall art is beautiful, and there were so many elements that lended to the 'street food in thailand' vibe. Loved it. Service was great for what I got. I ordered to-go, but regardless, the flow is you enter, pick up a menu, decide what you want, and either order at the counter or sit down and order via QR code. I went up to the counter to order. Food... so I can't give this a completely fair shake, because they gave me the wrong to-go order. I ordered yellow curry and tofu fries, but received someone else's order that was green curry chicken, garlic basil pork, and eggplant basil with shrimp. I was already back at work at my desk when I made the realization, and I was out of time to bring it back, so I just went with it. Though they DID give me the Iced Thai Coffee I ordered, that was delicious and perfectly sweet, lol. The green curry was a medium heat and oh my gosh was it spicy for me. Great flavor, could taste the coconut milk in it. The Garlic Basil Pork was really flavorful, almost too much garlic, which is something I never thought I'd say in my life, but I finished the whole thing. I gave the eggplant dish to my coworker; she said it was a little bland and didn't have any heat/spice to it. I'll do another review when I order again. read more

Lucked out and it wasn't very busy for Mother's Day. Awesome interior decorating! From the outside it looks small but it's big inside and they have an outdoor patio section. I'm a white guy who's been eating Thai food for nearly 40 years in Las Vegas, starting way back at The King and I over by UNLV, which is my all time favorite - but no longer around. Block 9 was surprisingly good. I have tried several of their items and have not been disappointed. If they were on DoorDash or Uber Eats, I would buy from them weekly. I mistakenly placed an online to go order for the Summerlin location and Gabby called the other location, resolved it, and had a refund pending without a beat and cooked my food up hot and quick. The decor is cute and street themed. I'm usually a Drunken Noodle fanatic but the Pad Thai was the star of the show here. We got it combination (chicken, shrimp, beef) "hot" spice level and it was savory, salty, sweet, umami without being heavy at all, I ate way more food than I should have and I do not feel miserable as I deserve I should. Was hitting up the Costco around 5pm and didn't want to cook. So, we decided to try some Thai takeout. Glad we did! We ordered the eggplant, red curry with pork, pad see ew and the mango sticky rice. The eggplant was perfection! Pad see ew was plentiful and very flavorful. Mostly noodles tho.... Not much broccoli or chicken. The red curry had a nice little kick... Nothing too powerful nor did it build with each bite so it was great! I like that their curry isn't too thick or creamy. The mango sticky rice is fantastic! It was cooked perfectly and the sauce is the best. The Garlic Ribs were equally as delicious. The Pad Thai was also so good. The noodles were a but sticky but in a perfect way. The chew was there. The tofu had a nice char taste. Now, although everything was good, the only negative was the mango. The sticky rice was yummy but the mango was not sweet. I believe I've found my new favorite Thai food restaurant in Vegas! We had a big party coming in, a total of 18 people. They don't take reservations because they are a sit down fast food restaurant. They're not like other Thai restaurants where you sit down and they come and take your order. You order either by walking to the register or scanning the code on the tables to order online over your phone then they bring the food to your table which is a genius way of doing it so there's no long line at the register. Back to the party of 18 we had, for 12 of us it was our first time at Block 9. Omar, who was running the register and I believe he's also the store manager of that location went out of his way to accommodate us. He knew it would be too cold outside for all of us to sit so he quickly put tables and chairs together before it got too busy! It worked out well cause all 18 of us were able to sit together and enjoy our food. The food itself is amazing, there were 18 of us so we all had different items! The prices of the plates were better than most Thai places, I felt as they were at least $1-$3 cheaper compared to other Thai restaurants, depending on what you were ordering. My ONLY regret I have was I didn't take any pics of the food!!! It was a birthday celebration for my wife so I was too busy playing host. The parking is great, plenty of parking, the customer service was fantastic with Omar and his crew, the food was amazing! We will definitely be going back and I recommend Block 9 Thai for great food and experience. read more
