    tofu spring roll
    Grace C.

Another vegan spot with plenty of options and variety to choose from for our vegan friend. We came for a late lunch, so it wasn't too busy. Friend and I split the tofu spring roll ($9) and shrimp pad thai ($15). We picked shrimp for the pad thai, so we picked a different protein -- tofu -- for the spring roll. Friend #2 ordered Vietnamese coffee ($5.50) and I had some of that later that night for a caffeine boost. The spring roll was refreshing and we liked the dipping sauce it came with. The shrimp pad thai, however, had way too much sauce for a pad thai dish and it overpowered the taste of the noodles. The other thing that bothered me that I didn't notice until we got home was that they charge a 3% credit card surcharge. It was not disclosed on the menu, on the bill, nor on the payment terminal when we went to go pay. The surcharge is based on the full total of subtotal, tax and tip. If we knew there was going to be a surcharge, we would've paid in cash.

Have been eating here for 10 years....i like the new menu items but dislike that they're changing old things, like the "beef".... It's like a sponge now, feels and looks like a sponge. Feels as if I could chew it for days and it'd never break down. Such a weird texture. Thankfully my waitress was amazing and she gave me a heads up that the meat had changed prior to me ordering. I wanted to be open minded so I decided to order the same dish I've been eating for years ....now I'll probably never order that again. She recommend the vegan mozzarella sticks and they were great. I forgot her name but I think it's Kierra/sierra ..she was an excellent server and brought me out extra veggies because the Mongolian beef dish was lacking veggies. She was so friendly, accommodating, and polite. An updated menu with accurate pics would also help. Especially when you're used to eating delicious dishes with lots of veggies and now you get something different.

Service was good. Cucumber water was a pleasant surprise. My friend and I had the chicken wings and both got the buffet. All of the food we tried was good, it was unfortunate that everything was running really low and it didn't get restocked until the end of our meal. I wasn't a fan of the sushi roll offered (dragon I think?) I think it was a little hard from being left out too long. I would go back but I'd go for the options on the menu. Love that this place has a wide selection. Cute place. Big fan of hand sanitizer at the table.

Service was great, server was really nice. The restaurant itself looked nice and had an okay selection for a buffet. Overall though, the food was very meh. The sweet and sour cauliflower and sushi was good but everything else was very whatever. Too much sauce, fake meat tasted like mushy bread, some pieces of the fake meat were also cold in the middle and I got only two pieces of cold broccoli in my dish. Rice was pretty plain and a little stale as well.

My husband who is vegan, and I visited Lake Las Vegas and I found VeggiEat on yelp and the high ratings brought us in. It did not disappoint. The menu was extensive. The owner, Victoria, came to our table to greet us and gave us a sample of the chicken and ribs. Wow! So good. We went with the Chicken Salad and Basil Chicken. The portions were humongous. We saved our leftovers for dinner on our flight back later that day. The food was so tasty and bursting w/ flavor. Victoria checked in w/ us again and we had a nice chat sharing stories about Hawaii. We're so happy for Victoria. She works hard, puts out great food and is a gracious host. She deserves all the success (and more) she is blessed with. We will definitely be back! A hui ho!

This place is exceptional. Ambiance was nice. The staff is so kind and welcoming, it feels like coming home after being away for a while. Some of the best food and vegan food I've ever had. They even went to make a dish that was empty in the buffet so that we had some. That was so touching and noticeable. Been twice and will return. I'm not vegan, but enjoy exploring options. Everything was so good!!!

    Curry Tofu Eggplant

I was pleased to find some veggie food in the area. The service was friendly and the food came out hot and fast. I ordered eggplant tofu curry. I think what came out was veggie curry because it had many more vegetables in it which I actually liked more. The curry was similar to a Japanese curry. It was a bit of a drag though that I found a small sharp piece of metal in my curry. I think it was probably a staple.

I came across this place while looking for a Vegan restaurant in the Henderson area. The reviews were good and the photos looked even better. I started with the (4) Pot Stickers filled with mushrooms, cabbage and zucchini. They were accompanied by a dipping sauce, which, wasn't too salty or sweet but just right. The Pot Stickers were amazing. They were light, airy, had fresh ingredients and were packed with bold flavors I also had the (8) piece gluten-free rainbow sushi roll without rice, and the General Tsao Mushroom dish with Red Bell Peppers, Celery and broccoli. The roll tasted great. It was fresh, light and had all the flavors one might expect from a regular sushi roll. The outside was wrapped in cucumbers, which were thinly sliced making for a perfect and delicious bite. The mushroom dish was outstanding. The mushrooms were large and the portion size was more than adequate. It had an abundance of flavor and was perfectly seasoned. I found all the dishes were priced accordingly based on the portions offered. While there, the owner, Victoria, stopped by to chat while inquiring about the satisfaction of my meal. I found her to be a remarkable woman with a rich personal history. She's a self-taught Chef and one who's had a passion for cooking since coming to Las Vegas almost thirty years ago. If there was ever a question as to why the food here taste so great, It's been answered. Victoria. Overall, the food met my expectations and to some degree exceeded them. I'd definitely recommend you try this spot if you're looking for a more healthier food option.

    Korean BBQ ribs
    Terry M.

Second time here, the first time a friend paid so I didn't leave a review... I remember loving the lasagna sushi and the Korean Ribs though so I knew I wanted to come back, this time I brought a friend who isn't vegan but has been opening up more to trying more plant based meats and such. Of course he was skeptical.... So, we ordered a Banana smoothie for him and Thai tea for me, mine was good but he says his was bland, not very sweet, more like a healthy smoothie which he isn't much into, he loves sugar ;) Anywho... The server was a nice girl but she didn't come to take our drink order for a while and then the drinks came out after the food which we thought was a bit strange but it all came out together....so it was good....and bad....haha My Sweet & Sour Tofu w/brown rice was delicious and the Ribs were perfect--My friend loved his BBQ Pork sandwich, his first foray into plant based pork... But the server never came over to check on us, I wanted to make sure that none of the meats had mushrooms, Yes, we should have asked before we ordered but the mushrooms is a new allergy so I am not used to asking + I assume a lot.... which I should never do! They were also out of dessert so that was a bummer.... All in all though....we will go back....we want to try more food and he wants to try more food so that is a plus.... Its a cute restaurant, it has booths but they are too tight for me--I sat at the 1/2 table, 1/2 booth in the corner and it was perfect! You choose where to sit so that worked out perfect as well... Its on the return list so if the die chooses it as it chose it this time actually, then we will return.... I would bring friends here...

Teriyaki Sushi Orange chicken White Rice
    Frank M.

Customer service is exceptional. They provide a nice jar of cold water for self pour...they often make rounds to refill it (which is considerate).... The food is tasty and menu selection is easy to navigate. I've been coming here for some time and it never disappoints...this spot is definitely a vegan hidden gem in Las Vegas / Henderson. Make sure you try their buffets during the day- good food. Price - it's what you'd expect for vegan Asian cuisine. They use fresh ingredients and you can tell when you eat the food. The restaurant is nice and the ambience is great. The staff is nice and occasionally the owner will come and talk to you. She is very friendly and very appreciative that people visit her restaurant. Must haves: teriyaki sushi, orange chicken, vegetable pho.

Food here goes from tacos, sushi, rice dishes, sashimi, to Asian fusion dishes. We started with the beet tostados, wasabi aioli, watermelon radish, jalapenos and cilantro. A beautiful, fresh and light crunchy tostado with a slight sweetness of the beets. A definite must try. The three blackened shrimp tacos with spicy mayo, yuzu cilantro slaw, cilantro and pickled red onions were tasty, over-dressed with slaw but a solid. Our final selection was the King Kong roll with spicey tuna, avocado, cucumber, and covered in togarashi tuna, wasabi aioli, crispy onions and ponzu. Their online ordering can be a little hit-or-miss, so we usually skip the website drama and just order at the host desk. Your food is typically ready in about 15 minutes, and they write your order right on the boxes--which is a lifesaver when you're picking up a feast. Utensils are provided, too. And when I say the portions are MASSIVE, I mean it. You definitely get your money's worth. We've never gone wrong with the burgers or any of the mac-n-cheese plates. My personal favorite, though? The Oreo milkshake. It's dangerously good. One of the hosts also recommended a "secret" menu item: milkshake that tasted exactly like an Orange Creamsicle. That was a fun surprise and definitely one of those "trust the staff" moments! We usually grab our food and take it back to our place, but the restaurant itself is a comfortable spot, too. There's a bar area with high-top seating and a separate restaurant section, TVs showing the latest sports, plenty of space between tables, and thankfully, it's not overly noisy. The hosts/servers were especially attentive on this trip--2 out of the 3 we interacted with were genuinely kind and gave us some great suggestions. One thing to be aware of: there are homeless people walking around the surrounding area, so just keep that in mind when coming and going. Overall, The Modern Vegan has officially earned its "Vegas trip = must eat here" status for us. Come hungry... or better yet, come hungry and bring a fridge.

I had recently been eating a healthy vegan and gluten-free diet at a yoga retreat and noticed how much better I was feeling, so I was craving that same kind of nourishing experience today. The Modern Vegan seemed like the perfect choice. I was greeted by the friendly Nicole at the door, who ended up being my server--and she was delightful! She was patient with all my questions, attentive, and provided genuinely great service. (I think my lemon for the water may have gotten lost somewhere along the way, but Nicole, I forgive you. ) I ordered the Breakfast Skillet, and WOW--it was delicious! I would absolutely order it again. If I were making a couple of tiny tweaks next time, I might go with fresh avocado instead of guacamole if that's an option, and I'd probably get the cheese sauce on the side. But honestly, those are just personal preferences because the skillet was fantastic. The portion was generous enough that I ended up taking half home, which means I already have tomorrow's breakfast waiting for me. YAY! And can we talk about the ambiance? The inside is adorable! I loved all the flowers and plants, the beautiful lighting, chandeliers, and artwork on the walls. It has such a fun, welcoming, colorful energy that makes you want to linger. There was also a cute sign as you're entering the bathrooms that said, "Sorry daddy, I'm in Vegas," which definitely gave me a little laugh and added to the playful vibe of the place. I left feeling full, happy, and very pleased with my decision to revisit The Modern Vegan. After several years away, I'd say this Saturday breakfast was a delicious reminder that sometimes your body knows exactly what it wants--and today, mine wanted vegan food!

Since it was our first time, they gave us a chance to look over the menu and ask questions. They were very accommodating to our requests for substitutions and even recooked our French fries to make them softer. My son and I shared the Salami sandwich with fries and I also got the southern fried oyster mushrooms with a Housemade dragonfruit lemonade. My son despises any vegan cheese or vegan mayo and he tore this sandwich UP! He even added extra mayo on his half of the sandwich. The olive jalapeño tapenade was tasty and really pulled the sandwich together but it was slightly spicy so careful to those who are sensitive to spice. The southern seasoned oyster mushrooms were so flavorful. The batter was light and crispy, the mushrooms were sliced thick and not too thin. One of the best I've ever had. The lemonade was okay.
