Disappointing first visit was probably also my last. I don't like leaving negative reviews without a good reason, so here goes. Their all-you-can-eat lunch buffet is listed as open until 3:00pm according to their website and on-site signs. Well, don't count on it. I arrived at 2:20, knowing that I would need less than 25 minutes to consume a first plate with salad, raita, and any appetizers (e.g., samosas), and then a second plate with Tandoori chicken, rice, and a combination of that day's hot dishes, after which I would likely still have time to get a bit of whatever they were offering for dessert. A man greeted me as I walked in and headed back toward the buffet, so I asked for garlic naan and a sweet lassi. He said they do not offer a sweet lassi, but I could order a mango lassi instead, which I did. Strike One: The salad bar consisted of raita, one tray of shredded lettuce.... and a couple of empty spots where ice was now visible where I presume trays of other chilled items had previously been sitting. Strike Two: Except for a chafing dish of rice, the hot dishes were virtually empty: small residual amounts of mattar paneer, chicken curry, vegetable korma, a few fried rectangles that I think were fish sticks, and two pieces of Tandoori chicken that were each roughly the size of my thumb. Also a tray of "Meatballs," with no clue about what kind of meat. Strike Three: When my server delivered my garlic naan to my table, he apologetically informed me that the ingredients he needed to prepare my mango lassi were frozen solid in their freezer, and thus not usable. I decided to stick with just cold water. When I commented on the fact that there was almost nothing left in the buffet, my server apologized again and said that they stop refilling the buffet dishes after 2:30 unless there's more than a few diners present. I replied that I had arrived at 2:20 and was quite disappointed, whereupon he kindly offered to have the kitchen quickly prepare a small dish of butter chicken. I accepted his offer, he brought the butter chicken out very quickly, and while not remarkable, it tasted fine. Nevertheless, I was not impressed by the taste of the other items for which I had managed to scoop up a meager spoonful or two from the bottom of each chafing dish. The matar paneer was too salty, and the others had very little flavor. Perhaps my visit is not representative of their usual lunch buffet experience, and presumably you would have better luck if you make sure to order items from the regular menu or only visit the buffet before 2:00pm -- but I have no interest in going back again when I know of a better alternative only 2 miles to the north on the same street. read more

I really went out of the way to, because this indian restaurant was a recommendation. First impressions, the buffet offerings were tiny and limited. The only dish that was noteworthy was the butter chicken. The chicken curry was eh, all the dishes were too salty for me. All restaurants make their dishes differently, the raita which I'm used to has some carrots in it which this place did not. The meatballs resembled meatballs that you would find at ikea. There were no lamb or goat dishes and goat is what I want in an Indian buffet. read more

First time trying out Nutmeg Indian Eatery last night. We ordered three boxes to go. Reviews were generally good so we tried out the place. Store was well kept clean and I could see music videos of stars dancing into Indian music. After I came in they started to get busy w/the customers for dinner time. I did wait about 20 minutes and I didn't mind since I wasn't in a hurry. We had one veggie, one chicken curry and one butter chicken curry. Amount of the food was generous. We had it for two meals so it was nice. I did order as 3-4 for spicy level because Indian spice can get pretty spicy. read more

We had the lunch buffet and everything was absolutely delicious! The vegetable curry was surprisingly good and the butter chicken was the best we have had! Both kinds of chutney went SO well with the samosas. Our server was very polite and helpful, even said we could get both garlic naan and buttered naan if we wanted. Wow, delicious. I wish I could tell you what I ordered. I have no clue what it was because the owner selected it, but it was crazy good. Some kind of tender, juicy meatballs in a spicy red sauce, served with basmati rice. Fresh naan on the side. Don't be fooled that from the outside it looks like they are closed - the heavy shades over the door block out your ability to see inside. Nice atmosphere, too. Good music as well. Overly salty curry + dishonest manager ruined our evening We ordered à la carte curries one evening (not a buffet), and one dish came out extremely salty--almost inedible, way beyond normal seasoning. I politely raised it with the manager 2-3 times. He brushed it off, saying the saltiness was just "personal preference" and made no effort to resolve it. He then suggested sending a replacement curry that would be complimentary (free). We agreed. But when the bill arrived, we were charged full price for it. When I pointed this out, the manager flat-out denied promising it complimentary. He claimed he only provided "extra gravy" for free--not the actual dish replacement. This felt deliberately deceptive and shrewd. He avoided taking responsibility, gaslighted us about what was said, and left us with a ruined night, wasted money, and a bad taste (literally). Steer clear if you want honest service and enjoyable food. Especially at night--complaints seem to get dismissed, and verbal offers aren't honored. read more

We went here last week and had the buffet. It was absolutely delicious. The use of spices is superb and you can tell that this food is made with care and love. My favorites were the garlic naan, butter chicken, vegetable rice, lamb curry and the gulab jamun which are little round donut type delights coated in a delicately spiced syrup. Nutmeg Indian Eatery is one of the best Indian restaurants we have been to. The restaurant itself is simple in design but friendly and welcoming, and the staff manages to be attentive while still giving you the space to enjoy your meal at your own pace. Last night we enjoyed the Malai Chicken, ordered without spice. It was a delicious tandoori‑style dish, and the chicken was exceptionally moist and flavorful. We also ordered the Lamb Goan Curry at a level 3 spice. It was the perfect amount of heat--just enough warmth without overwhelming the rich, layered flavors. The lamb was very lean and tender, and the portion was generous enough that we brought home leftovers. For our appetizer, we shared two vegetable samosas, which were packed with vegetables and wonderfully seasoned. Everything we tried tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The prices are very reasonable. Our two dinners plus a glass of wine came to $60, which felt like excellent value for the quality and portions. We will certainly return to Nutmeg in Henderson.
