We've been here before but wanted to come back to taste these burgers and also write a review. We ordered the crispy mane nuggets, oyster tenders, bloomin oyster BBQ mushroom burger, and baja cauliflower tacos. Crispy mane nuggets: they were indeed crispy and tasted delicious with the mustard sauce, though we would have appreciated the ranch as well. Oyster tenders: these were very well coated, not doughy, super crispy, and tasted fantastic. This is probably the only restaurant that has coated the tenders so well! They pair really well with the dipping sauce but probably even better with ranch. Bloomin oyster BBQ mushroom burger: everything was perfect and the size was just right, but there was too much sauce in there, which made it hard to hold the burger. Baja cauliflower tacos: reminded us of eating vegan tacos from one of our favorite vegan restaurants in California so this was a must enjoyed dish. The cauliflower tasted fresh but the sauce was even better. Service was excellent and there was plenty of space within the restaurant itself for seating. Quick - counter service, staff was helpful on recommendations, flavors, and expectations. They were patient with the questions and explained the concept. Most meats are mushroom-based. I love that, as it's not an over processed fake meat like Impossible. They use a variety of vegetables and flavors, the food is very "back to the Earth" focused. Items tried and liked (so far): Chaga Mac Burger (discontinued-wish they would bring this back as an option) - our favorite. The patty is delicious and everything works well together. Chaga Smash Burger - everything is delicious and filling. Fries - they're good but I can only eat a few since they're fried and not baked. I love the fact that it's food that heals, we need more places like this in the world. They have changed their menu and added so many new items since the last time I've been here. The staff is alway friendly and has great energy. It's always very clean and cozy in there. There is ample amount of seating in the front of the store, towards the back, and outside! This go around I ordered the Chagasmash Burger with a side of Planimal fries, and a Shroomshred Chocolate smoothie. The burger which was packed with a blend of mushrooms was sooo good and had amazing flavors! The fries are always delicious. I usually get the chili cheese fries and decided to try something different. The planimal fries were really good, it was a play on in n out animal style and it was spot on. The chocolate smoothie is by far my new favorite thing! It's packed with an assortment of mushrooms and so much nutritional benefits! I am addicted! It was so good and so sweet to not have any refined sugar in it. They also sell chocolate and vanilla protein, mushroom extract tinctures, and they sell their own grown mushrooms as well! Like I've said before, this CARNIVORE loves these plant based burgers. Especially the Tokyo Mushito! But they have Bison burgers now. The owner keeps paying Yelp to remove my review, I just keep reposting. Don't act like I was not a customer of this piece of shit restaurant! I gave them a solid five star review when they used to be plant based. They have some delicious mushroom based sandwiches that we ordered. Now that they're no longer animal free, Chagashit is no longer for me. The smell of their bullshit bison burgers fucking up an otherwise cruelty free kitchen turns is not cool. So many other places to go in town that don't serve up animals. Why would I bother going all the way out here again? They had a great thing going but fucked it up big time. I'm not vegan. I'm not even vegitarian. But I love love love mushrooms. So, on a whim, I just searched "mushrooms" on Yelp and came across ChagaRoot. I was immediately intrigued. A place that serves mushroom based foods? Sign me up. The restaurant is not far from my work. I figured I could drive over on my lunch break, get some shrooms and head back to work. I took a few minutes to look over the menu and got some info from a lady behind the counter. I finally ordered a crimson something or other sandwich. Basically battered and fried oyster mushrooms with pickles, slaw and a beet juice srirachi aioli on a brioche bun. I also ordered a side of "mushroom seasoned" fries. Then I sat and waited. And waited. And waited some more. About 20 minutes in all. Seemed a bit long to me for a mushroom sandwich but there were several other to go orders so maybe this was a lunch rush. I was getting worried that I was running out of time on my lunch hour and I was going to be dining in. But my food came out and I immediately...was hit by panic. The aioli on this sandwich was made with beet juice and sriracha. That didn' set in until I saw the vibrant red sauce dripping off the sandwich before I even picked it up. I knew for sure that I would get this all over my shirt. Thankfully this made me mindful and I escaped stain free. And I made it back to work with 3 minutes to spare. The sandwich was good. Crispy mushrooms piled high. A little chewy as oyster mushrooms tend to be. The slaw and the aioli brough the bulk of the flavor. It all worked well together to make a rather filling sandwich. No meat - no problem. Then there are the fries. They were, well, fries. Potatoes cut slightly thicker than shoe strings. Lightly battered. Well fried. All in all, good fries. Nothing significantly different then most other fries. Honestly, I was trying to find the mushroom seasoning. Maybe my buds are off and I was only tasting spuds. Again, good fries but maybe not what I fully expected. There were a lot of them, though. A nice sized side for $2.50. By far the best price of anything I ordered. Service was very friendly here. There was a bit of an order number mix up that caused a moment of confusion. But they worked it out and everybody got what they ordered. The food was good but really pretty high priced. I get it. Specialty mushrooms cost more. But $16.50 for a mushroom sandwich is kind of a lot. This was a cool place to try and get my mushroom fix. I'm not sure if I will come by again any time soon but I would not mind trying one of the lower priced offerings like tacos or a Cubano sandwich. Both sound interesting. Yes, two days in a row! We had to come back and get our Mushie fix before driving back home to Cali. I also got the kale salad with lions mane mushroom sautéed in garlic butter. Y'all, I didn't eat this until I got home, to Cali, it was so good! It had apples and dried cranberries in it. The dressing was a vinaigrette that was flavorful and delicious. Unfortunately, also no photos of the salad. We ordered and voraciously ate the oyster tenders, Chaga Mac burger, Bloomin oyster bbq burger, regular fries, and sweet potato fries. This was my first time coming here. I've wanted to eat her for a while. My experience was really good! I will start with the atmosphere. The dining area is spacious, nice window seating, and it has a very fresh welcoming vibe. The staff were smiling and seemed happy to be at work. Happy Staff/cooks =Happy Food. My order was the Chagasmash burger and the pink oyster tacos. The Chagasmash burger was ahhhhhhmazing! I can't believe I would drive past this restaurant and go to In-N-Out instead of stopping here. Their Smashburger is so incredibly good, if you like in and out or if your on a vegan diet and miss In-N-Out, then this is the burger that will satisfy that craving for sure! Regarding the pink oyster tacos, I really love the crunch of the oyster mushroom, the freshness of the tortillas, avocado, and the overall plating. But.... They were a bit dry and lacking acid, making them kind of bland. I think that these tacos could be so much better if it was accompanied with a salsa verde or limey crema (and add cabbage vs iceberg lettuce). The whole time I was eating them I was wishing I had some more flavor or a sauce to pour on it/dip them in :( I did get a side of the chipotle sauce, but it didn't make much of an improvement. In the future, maybe I will order them to-go and doctor them up at home, because I really like the quality of the tacos. All the burgers are mushroom based as are the tacos. The texture, look, size and shape of the patties are identical to a regular burger and would rival it in taste. The tacos are served in individual trays and are packed with topping that only compliments the tacos overall flavor. I'd definitely recommend the Taco Trio and the Pink Oyster Tacos. And for you burger lovers, the Mexicano Shroombrero burger (although a bit spicy), topped with plant-based provolone cheese, avocado lime sauce and enchilada aioli is outstanding. They also offer mushroom plant-based ice creams made with fruits, superfood and Chaga cordycepts. I plan on trying the ice cream on my next visit. Delicious unique food made out of mushrooms! My favorite! It's definitely a unique concept and the food is pretty good. The staff is super friendly and always willing to help. We got the Tokyo Mushito and the Mexicano Shroombrero. Everything here is plant based! For the Tokyo Mushito it is spicy but if you don't like spicy like me, you can remove the sriracha smoked aioli and the shishito peppers to make it not spicy. I got the regular fries but you can upgrade for 3 dollars more I believe to any of their side dishes. The only thing I have to say about it is that it was served somewhat cold, not sure if that's how it's supposed to be? But regardless, it was pretty good! My husband got the side of Mac and cheese with his order. We also got their mushie. We got the Cookie Ashwagandha and Cream Mushy. It has Keto sugar-free chocolate cream cookies, cordyceps, lion's mane, turkey tail, chaga, maitake, reishi, plant-based vanilla ice cream, plant-based whipped cream, and sugar-free chocolate syrup. You'll have to ask for ketchup as there aren't any on the tables. Also for water. I saw a couple get a cup with water but I didn't see any in the area so we got kombucha and coconut water from the display. Found this place off Yelp. We decided to give them a shot. Overall experience was okay. The decor inside was clean and organized. Some decor on the walls which was interesting. Plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor as well. The service could be better. The cashier was nice. But the young lady forgot our order and the owner had to help us with it later on when she had to check. It took a long time for it to come out and when we told the owner--they started to make it then, which means they forgot. Cashier also did not know how to work the tap/card payment reader. It took a while to work. We had to show her. Perhaps proper training from management. They did however check on us a couple of times. The burger was messy to eat. Too much juice/liquid comes out when you bite into it. Soaked buns and not easy to eat. I took one bite and didn't enjoy the rest. The mushrooms were good though. Saw a video of Chaga Root online and knew I had to make a pass by here! Located on Flamingo and Pecos, I happened to be in the area and happily made my way here excited to try some of their unique items on offer. Depending on what you get, the food is amazing! I didn't like everything I got here so far, but I do love the blue oyster barbecue mushroom sandwich. Service is usually great especially with this one lady which I don't know her name, but she is always welcoming and has great tips to make your sandwich even better. The fries are also really good! It is a little expensive here, but I guess that's like anywhere else eating out. So be prepared to spend about $20 for a sandwich that comes with fries and no drink. As far as the restaurant itself, it's clean and there are lots of seats/tables there's also more space in the back with clean bathrooms. I think there's also some outdoor seating in the back. Yay for healthier options! My sister discovered this place and was so excited to try it! We headed here after a workout session at the gym down the road. We arrived at around 11:30 and it was not busy at all. The ambiance was very clean feeling and industrial vibes. Very cute! We were greeted by the gentlemen at the cashier. He also explained the different options on the menu and provided some recommendations. We ended up ordering the matcha shake, the Mexican burger, and the Greek burger. They do have a packet of what's included in the different items and drinks which was very helpful! Once you place your order, you get a number and find a table to sit at. Absolutely hands down one of the best plant based spots there is. My family and I came here for the first time and were extremely impressed at how delicious everything tasted, from the burgers, to the Mac n cheese to the tenders.
