What a neat little neighborhood Little Italy is! Managed a street spot right in front. The staff were so friendly and very attentive. Our waiter was fabulous. Our food was delicious. We started off with house bread and charred octopus. My ragu was delicious and my husband loved his especiale salad pasta dish. The portions are very generous; we left with boxes! The vibe is very relaxed inside . People were dressed up, people were dressed down; it is very comfortable. I apologized to the hostess for wearing a hoodie and leggings - I had just had surgery and my hotel was further out. She smiled and ushered us in. If you are in Cleveland and want to experience Little Italy , I have been told that all of the restaurants are lovely- Mia Bella has our vote!

I ordered their turkey sandwich and it took around 5ish minutes or slightly more. They had a big order to fill. So expect some wait time if someone placed a big order. Sandwich was delicious, good amount of turkey. Did not see any options aside from what's on the menu, like toasted bread or mixing other ingredients from one sandwich to the other. They offer some other snacks too, chips, drinks, and cookies. Great spot for sandwiches, will come back to try their others.

The place itself is tucked away into Lakewood and offers a great atmosphere with an indoor/outdoor flow. The ambiance is nice, they have good music playing in the background not too loud and not too quiet. We went in the evening, so all the lights were turned on which made the experience enjoyable. All the food was really flavorful, and they had a ton of options for cocktails. The complimentary sauces are phenomenal and definitely take the dishes to the next level! Unfortunately, we had to wait over an hour for our food to come out and despite being told appetizers would be quick they took awhile. Server was kind and apologetic and explained they had a new training chef although it felt others around us were getting their food. I do wish they would have given us a complimentary appetizer or made one free of charge as the wait total was almost 1.5 hours. Overall, this place is a really great stop and I'm glad to have it nearby. I have heard the service and speed is usually efficient so maybe this was just a one night thing. Definitely stop in as they have a large menu with bold flavor and a great atmosphere.

I tried one of the Egyptian dishes - kushery ($18) - and it was delicious! If you are vegetarian…read moreand/or have vegetarian friends, I highly recommend this dish. Even as a regular eater of meat, I found this dish so satisfying and filling. In case you don't know, kushery is a whole load of carbs; the dish has rice, macaroni, lentils, a slightly spicy tomato sauce, garlic vinegar, chickpeas, and crispy fried onions. The whole mixture altogether was so tasty, and I would totally get this again. I also ordered the hibiscus punch ($6), which was refreshing and not too sweet. And even though I already had a bunch of carbs with the kushery, I got the Egyptian bread pudding ($8), which was very different from the bread pudding I typically see at restaurants around here. It consisted of toasted croissant pieces that were soaked in a creamy sweet milk; the dessert also came with a bunch of nuts, raisins, and whipped cream. It wasn't as rich or sweet as other kinds of bread pudding I've had, but it was still a tasty dessert. The service was a little slow, so I wouldn't suggest dining in here if you need to get a quick meal. But the food was good, and the staff was friendly, so if you have time for a relaxed meal, give the restaurant a try. Note - there were some slight price discrepancies between the menu and final receipt for my drink and dessert, but I know prices are really volatile in these crazy times, and the price discrepancies were small.

Seriously, within 20 minutes the place was packed. And it didn't take long for me to understand why. The feeling of community was contagious. From the local art on the walls and free board games to the cozy seating and friendly staff, this place was totally my vibe. I was able to connect to their free wifi with ease and got a lot of work done while I was there. Now, I'm always a sucker for seasonal latte and the Honey Snow Melt did just the trick. What makes Scratch's French toast so good is that they don't use plain old white bread for it. Instead, they use sweet bread pudding, which makes for an utterly decadent and delicious breakfast. The pieces of bread pudding had crisp edges while being soft on the inside. They were topped with sliced bananas and a rich bourbon caramel sauce, and served with maple syrup infused whipped cream that was almost practically ice cream. The French toast also comes with your choice of sausage or pork belly. I opted for the sausage patties, which were tasty and homemade. I also ordered the orange juice ($4.50) and home fries ($3.75). The home fries were delicious. Crispy potato chunks that were the right amount of salty. Between the French toast and home fries, I left stuffed. Service was also great. My server was very friendly and welcoming, and came to check on me a couple of times. Notes - it's a small place with a couple of tables, but I was able to take a seat right away on a Friday morning. It was the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and just a little kick. My friend stuck with her usual: the Banana & Bourbon Caramel Bread Pudding French Toast, topped with fresh bananas and their homemade bourbon caramel sauce, plus a side of pork belly.
