My morning at HoneyBirch Bakehouse was so flavorful. I stopped in Cleveland's Larchmere neighborhood this morning. The space is cozy and inviting, modern but still very homey, perfect for grabbing something delicious to-go or enjoying a quiet bite at one of the sidewalk tables. The cafe also has a mini pantry with teas (like the local Storehouse), very interesting international chocolates, and even chocolate that can be made into a drink. I got French truffles. I tried one of their famed cardamom knots, and it was divine - perfectly spiced, lightly sweet, and melt-in-your-mouth soft. I also grabbed mushroom boureka and was surprised to see whole mushrooms in there, so so good! In addition, I got baked cheesecake piece, which was easily the best cheesecake of my life! Seriously! It was very fresh, creamy, and topped with some berry preserve. I can't say enough good things about that slice! Their commitment to using high-quality ingredients really comes through in every bite. Beyond my finds, I learned that they also have sandwiches for lunch and fresh baked bread (including focaccia that looked delicious)! I plan to stop by for bread soon! What I appreciated most was how friendly and knowledgeable the owners were, they genuinely seemed excited to share their creations. They were also very genuine. From the moment I walked in, I felt incredibly welcome by the owners. One of them even explained all their famous treats - cardamom knots and bourekas. Whether you're a local or just passing through Cleveland, HoneyBirch Bakehouse is a spot worth seeking out. It's not just a bakery. It's an experience full of heart, craft, and unforgettable flavor.

Great little wife and husband owned bakery & deli. The sandwiches are amazing with my favorite being the apple Brie and fig with turkey. Tried a boureka today which was like a flaky puff pastry with spinach and cheese and was so good! The baguettes they use are so good that I have bought them to make other sandwiches at home too. Parking is free street parking and was pretty readily available each time I was there. There was not any indoor seating that I saw, but two small two seater tables outside that were nice and clean. The owners were so nice and our sandwiches were ready pretty quickly. Would highly recommend!

Yummy in my tummy! Had to call in advance and pick up within the hour but worth it. Also got the scone and cream pie. Might need to come back for the cheesecake and cinnamon roll

The people are so kind and everything is fresh always. They are closed a few days out of the week but the quality makes up for it. Everything from the sandwiches to the cookies are delicious

Excellent quiche! The crust is amazing and the quiche egg part is amazing too!! The challah bread pudding is delicious. The snickerdoodles are wonderful! The two employees I've seen there the handful of times I've been inside are both incredibly friendly and delightful to talk with. They are truly passionate about their craft.

It's so nice to see new businesses open up on Larchmere -- especially a bakery! Honeybirch is a great addition to the area, with its baked goods that has something for everyone. I've visited them several times and have been able to try something new each time. What I enjoy is that for the quick bite bakery items, they often have some savory and sweet options for whatever mood you are in. In addition, they have a section in the back of the store where they carry a variety of noodles/ sauces/ candies that the owners personally enjoy, or are made by other local creators. The outside and inside of the place is also really warm and welcoming, which makes it easy to want to go back. The only caveat with some of their goods that we have found is that some of their puff pastries seem a bit "deflated" and have lost their optimal crisp by the time we eat time. This may be because a lot of their pastries are open to the air on display instead of in a case -- which although is nice to look at -- does affect the taste somewhat.

Stopped by The HoneyBirch Bakehouse while checking out houses in Shaker Heights. We bought a whole bunch of things to try (cardamom knot, quiche, bourekas sampler and a cookie). Everything was so fresh and so delicious!! The knot was soft and fragrant, quiche was fluffy and perfectly seasoned. The owners are super sweet and welcoming too. Would definitely hit up HoneyBirch for sweet or savory treats again.

This place is a hidden gem! Always friendly staff that greets you as you walk in, always tasty treats and always trying out new and different flavor combinations with their pastries. The breakfast sandwiches (served on the weekends) are fantastic with homemade scrambled eggs (nothing ever frozen or microwaved)

They have about 8 or 9 sandwich options all made to order on a crispy focaccia bread. They also offer my favorite, San Pellegrino Italian sodas and homemade chocolate chip sea salt cookies. They slice the meat for you right there and it was all super fresh. I got the #2 which had salami, prosciutto, and capicola with burrata and pickled hot peppers. The sandwich was good and tasted really fresh. I really enjoyed the burrata. I also did not miss the fact that there was no sauce or spread on it. I'm not a huge fan of crispy or hard bread, so I think I would have loved it even more if there was a soft bread option. I definitely look forward to returning though, maybe they do have another bread option available, I didn't ask. You can also customize the sandwich, so I would have added some arugula. The cookie was incredible!

After a brief glance at the menu (and picking up a gummy worm flavored diet mountain dew from their vending machine...), I ordered their Grum Sandwich (7" for $8) without peppers and swapped out the oil for stadium mustard as well as an order of their plain "grumizza" to indulge in for dinner. It was only $2.75!!! How can I resist that?? I am not exaggerating when I say that I would die for this sandwich and I don't know if it was my obsessive ADHD brain talking or not, but it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. There was sooooo much meat on there, the spice mix was amazing, and the bread.... woweeee wow, so soft and fluffy and oh my god delicious. AND IT WAS ONLY 8 DOLLARS. The grumizza made for a great dinner as well. Using the same bread as the sandwiches, they loaded it up with sauce, ooey gooey cheese, and that spice mix I love so much. I hit my carb quota for a week in just one day but my god, was it worth it! I should also mention the place was packed and the diligent staff worked very hard to keep up with all the orders and they did a great job! My only suggestion is adding the ability to provide customers with a glass of water. I DEFINITELY will be back!!!

BTW: if you like to slice & freeze bagels for later... they sell day olds that are extremely good & fresh and freeze perfectly -- a real bargain! (NOTE: Nubeigel tends to make a "more browned" bagel, almost Montreal style -- vs. the very pale bagels at other local bagel shops. I love this, but YMMV.)

Sande (who is hearing impaired) was having a hard time hearing what I was saying because the music was really loud. It was Jimi Hendrix so at least they had good taste but when I had to repeat my order several times, the employees should have taken a cue that the music was too loud. None of the sandwiches or entrees on the board had prices which I found to be odd... We ordered soup, lasagna slice and stromboli (all of which were pre-made/packaged). They asked twice if we wanted the items heated and we said no twice in return. 15 minutes later, we were still awaiting our order even though were were only 4 patrons in the store the entire time we were there. What was taking so long to put 3, pre-made packaged items in containers and into a bag? Finally I went up to the counter and asked what was taking so long and they said they were still getting things ready (which was a bad sign). Sure enough, when we got the food, they had heated the lasagna and stromboli which was useless because by the time we got back home, it had to be reheated. The stromboli was pretty good. 3.5 stars out of 5 but the lasagna was awful. Not cheesy, almost no sauce and just dry and uninteresting, 1 star. The split pea soup was incredibly salty, 2.5 stars. Overall i'd give them 1 star and we won't be returning.
