**Late review** Came to Florentina's for the first time last month (May). My sister and I were in the mood for Italian and decided to try their lunch specials - which comes with soup or salad. I got the lasagna with sausage and broccoli cream soup (garlic bread was also included) while my sister got the calzone and salad. Man did our dishes taste so bomb! Friendly staff and owners, and the wait times weren't that long. We came in and ordered our food and were both told it would take roughly 15-20 minutes. My sister and I decided to walk to CVS and shop around while we waited for our food. Picking it up afterwards was pretty fast! But digging into the food though .... it was definitely worth the wait! So yummy! Got an 8" pizza combo. I didn't know what to expect, I usually go to the places where you can build your own because I love lots of toppings so it seems more worth it to me, or Costco cause it's cheap... but this was so tasty!! I'm torn because 8" I'm not sure was enough for my stomach, but the next size up was 12" .. medium.. an inch or two more of pizza would have been about right for this pregnant lady.. compare that size to Pieology's and similar place's 11"... The crust is thick and fluffy and delicious, which is a nice change from the usual thin crust that I've gotten used to. The toppings tasted fresh, they didn't skimp on the cheese. So after all the good reviews, I wanted to give them a shot. So I ordered a calzone for take out. It was about 16.00 dollars. So I arrived to pick it and immediately noticed signs saying 2 calzones for 17.00 dollars. Obviously would liked 2 for couple bucks more - wished they had told me over the phone. Ok - now I am home, and can't wait to eat as it smelled good driving. So, the first bite was tasty and the marinara sauce was excellent. The first bite of a calzone is always bread-y. So my complaint, every bite had little to zero meat. I never reached that portion of the combo calzone where it all stacked together. Maybe it was a fluke - but not worth the money for me. read more

Florentina's is becoming a new favorite for all things Italian. My favorite dish is their Calzone. I can easily make 2 meals out of it. The dough is cooked to perfection and the filling is packed. I didn't ask about the sauce situation and asked for a side of sauce for the two calzones I ordered... when I got home I realized that they automatically have sauce covering the calzones (not all places do this)... they were generous with the sauce, so an extra cup was not necessary. We have also gotten their pizzas and have enjoyed those as well. Again, excellent crust and cooked to perfection. I am not sure if they offer delivery (I would imagine Uber eats and the like at the very least). I have always picked up my orders. Staff is friendly and polite. Best pizza I've tried in Fresno County. It's always consistent and I love the dough and sauce they use. If I were to rate the pizza, I'd give them a 8.2. I feel as through the cashier was extremely racist. I'm half white and half Mexican, with dark features. My cousin sent me to pick up an order, that was $84 with a brand new $100 bill. I go to get the pizza and the guy in the front told me they don't accept bills over $20. that makes sense, they don't wanna get robbed ok. They told me to go next door and get the $100 broken, but they can't give me change because I need the $84 to pay. The cashier then told me to go to save Mart and get it broken. Like what the heck? Really good! Especially the florentine lasagna. This is a take out place in a strip mall with very reasonable prices. I have to say this was a great yelp find. I come from the land of pizza so i wasn't too into getting more pizza (so sick of it). So I picked us up some lasagna and a sausage Calzone for my friend. Both were very good and passed for this picky pizza and pasta person. I was pleasantly surprised. I really expected a yelp fail for some reason, but it was not. I would definately go back for more lasagna. The marinara to dip the calzone in was very tasty as well. The salad was a bit iceburg-y and uneventful. The spiral pasta had WAY too much mayonnaise, neither of us liked it. However the garlic bread was bomb like everyone said. I was like "how good can garlic bread be?" in my head but when i ate it I was like 'Ohhhhh man they are right!' Don't let all the excessive signage on the outside scare you.
