With its own private parking lot, the journey to Alleanas is as easy as the breeze through the palmettos, making the drive through the country not just bearable but beautiful. Alleanas is a family-run affair, and the warmth of that family spirit radiates through every dish and interaction. From the moment you walk in, you're not just a customer--you're a member of the family, dining at their table and sharing in their culinary traditions. The menu is a love letter to Lowcountry cuisine, where everything is made to order. Whether you're savoring their perfectly fried okra, digging into their famous five cheese mac and cheese, or enjoying a bowl of Hoppin' Johns, every bite is hot, delicious, and crafted with care. The daily specials keep the experience fresh, with offerings like fried chicken, pork chops, and even salmon. Today's Fish Friday special included a delightful surprise--lobster tails! I indulged in a daily special that featured a piece of fried flounder, chicken wings, and shrimp--each component showcasing the kitchen's dedication to flavor and freshness. The flounder was fried to golden perfection, just as I would make it at home. The shrimp were equally impressive, and the Hoppin' Johns (beans and rice) were phenomenal. And the fried okra? Simply out of this world. For today's lunch, I opted for another daily special--a fried trio consisting of a pork chop, more flounder, and some of those irresistible sticky wings. Accompanied by sides of fried okra and red rice, everything was satisfyingly Southern and scrumptious, affirming that each visit here is well worth the drive. No meal at Alleanas is complete without a taste of their desserts--peach cobbler and banana pudding are often on the menu, providing a sweet finish to a hearty meal. But what truly sets this place apart are their world-famous sticky chicken wings--a must-try for anyone stepping through their doors. Alleanas is more than a restaurant; it's a celebration of the South's culinary traditions, served with a side of soul. Well worth the drive, it's a place where every meal feels like Sunday dinner, and everyone is family.

Upon my arrival, I entered the building via the outward opening door centrally located on the D-side of the building. I moved directly to the point of sale, was met by Sheryl, and ordered a classic meal adequately described as containing 4 chicken fingers, fries, and a fountain drink. I chose honey barbecue as my tossin' sauce as well as my dippin' sauce. I located a two top and took a seat. A few moments later, my meal was delivered. The tenders were wonderfully moist and perfectly fried. There was not an excess of sauce. The fries were crunchy outside, soft inside. The drink was Cherry Coke. I went back for a $7.76 banana pudding. It came in a branded mason type jar with lid, so it was worth it. It tasted wonderful. The staff were just as amazing as the food. I was disappointed, however, at a lack of memorabilia of Son House or Robert Johnson. Nothing from Greenwood or Clarksdale, MS. No Highway 49 or Highway 61 references. Thankfully, I also found no indications of large black dogs, just amazing food. No photos/video. End of Report.

Unacceptable!!! This was my first and absolute last time…read more The place was empty with the exception of one other person in the dining area. The dining area clearly needed some attention as well. The floor and tables weren't properly cleaned. Ordered 10 piece tender bites, that were clearly chicken strips cut up and not fresh I might add. The fries were heavily saturated in salt! I had someone to inquire if we enjoyed the meal and I expressed no , she did extend an apology but that's it! No more future visits for me and this place needs to get a clue or close down as fast as the Popeyes did across the street!

Who doesn't love a good southern restaurant with vibes that make you think of Steel Magnolias!…read more While on my run when I was in Charleston I saw this restaurant and knew my sister and I had to try it. Upon entering the hostess were so sweet and got us sat immediately. We both knew walking in we wanted a steak. And the special that the chef had was steak skewers with Boursin mashed potatoes, black berries, corn and green beans. I was a little skeptical about the black berries with the savory items but to my surprise it was soooo amazing! I also tied the blue crab bisque! Talk about flavor! My hat is completely off to the chef. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the service received there. I will definitely be back!
