For a local, it's a cool spot especially for the Southbay area. Really pretty and modern hotel. Service started out great, but quickly went down hill. Took 45 mins to get an appetizer (server forgot to put it in), really hard to get anyone's attention to order more drinks/food, even though it wasn't during prime time hours. DJ had some major tech issues; music kept going on and off every 15 mins. Eventually he packed up and left an hour into his set. We ended up asking for the check and left earlier than planned since our table wasn't being serviced. We will try this place again, but wasn't super impressed with the service. read more

My criteria for rooftop bars: a nice view, good food, quality drinks, and fun atmosphere. Flora accomplishes all of them, I'm happy to say. You can see in many directions and watch planes take off at LAX. There's a nice long flaming glass heater in the middle of the space that warms things up on a chilly night. A select number of lounging areas are available if you can nab them. You can also sit inside at the bar or at tables. Drinks: a nice balance of cocktails, wines, and beer-- i.e. Far Niente Chardonnay, reds from Paso Robles, fun mixed drinks, champagne, etc. I sipped a nice lemony martini and vintage Barolo. Food: we opted for the charcuterie, which comes in groups of 3 or 5 choices and features quality meats and cheeses, including a Port Reyes Blue, figs, almonds, honey, and bread-- it was big enough that we had to take some home. They had a limited, but appealing menu: something for everyone (burger, fish tacos, fries, oysters, etc.). A DJ was spinning hip, trendy sounds. Unfortunately, I didn't see any Happy Hour offerings, and the prices were a bit steep. Parking on the street was easy on a Friday night. For some reason I love hotels. The service, the vibe, the food, the people you meet... I could easily live in hotels for eternity and be happy. Not sure my seven year-old would agree though. This is a great place. Came here on a cool night a few weeks ago for a quick drink. Staff was excellent. Great for happy hour and groups or even a late evening closer with a significant other. Easy street parking outside the hotel. I imagine one could park inside their lot as well. The views aren't magical, but it's always nice drinking on a rooftop. Hope to be back for a visit soon. Decided to give this place a try last night to wait out my commute. At 6pm the place was already packed but not sure they were prepared. Service was excruciatingly slow - although the staff was hustling! Would have given 4 stars but both my friend and I were sick all night after eating the pizza... There's not many rooftop bars in the area unless you venture into the city so this is a great option for those who want to avoid city traffic. Plenty of street parking which is an added bonus! Did not make a reservation in advance but called and was told that walk ins were fine. Arrived 30 minutes later and was seated without a problem. Relaxed, laid back ambience. Cocktails were tasty but on the smaller side (I had the G&T which was light and refreshing). Ordered the chicken flatbread to go with the drinks, and it was better than expected. Excited to FINALLY have a rooftop bar option in the southbay! Cocktails run around $14 and for some reason have an emphasis on the frozen, but outside has heaters and blankets galore. Pretty empty for a weekend night, but sure the crowds will amp up. Nothing special in terms of drink selection, or bartender, but a definite stop if you want to take advantage of LA weather without trekking all the way downtown. read more

Could be so much more than it is. On a weekday at 5:30 I went with 3 girlfriends and we were surprised there were happy hour specials. The roof deck has nice seating areas but it's like they forgot that we are by the water and it's foggy and chilly often. There weren't nearly enough heating options and this was in July! The food was completely underwhelming. There was nothing wrong but nothing memorable. Tasted like average airport bar food. Service was subpar and exceptionally slow- even though they weren't busy. There's a lot of really great options within 2 miles so Flor needs to step it up, unless they don't want local business, and are content with solely guests from the AC Hotel where it's located. read more

Pretty chill environment. Food was pretty good. Our Waitor was really nice. Didn't know it was on top of the Marriott. When you enter the hotel all their employee greet you and make you feel welcome. Music is kinda loud, but the fire bar makes you forget about that. Would recommend. read more

Weather was cold but they have multiple heaters around the outdoor patio that you can sit at along with blankets if you need one. Drinks were good and cost of each drink was your typical LA pricing, 3 drinks for ~$50-60 with tip. Waitress was nice and attentive. Last call is 11pm even though they close at midnight. I got there and one of the girls just said to sit anywhere without asking if I had a reservation or how many there were lol -I sat for about 45 mins before being approached to ask if I wanted water or had been helped. but it's the only rooftop in the southbay and probably just needs better management so I guess I'll give it a 3 for ambiance! read more

Being a local, I was excited to have a rooftop in our area. Met a friend here for sunset and made a reservation to sit in the couch areas. When we got there no one was around to greet us so we were trying to check in or see where we can be seated. The bar tender got really short when I said we requested to sit on the couches - note to future attendees, the couches are for parties of 5, even though we saw a party of 3 sitting in an area. We sat in a high top area only to notice the couch area was vacant for an hour when we could have enjoyed sitting there until a larger party would arrive. The food was decent, drinks were okay but overpriced. Overall, it wasn't a welcoming vibe and the rooftop doesn't even face the west to enjoy the sunset. This is a cute rooftop bar. They have a huge herb garden right outside so you see them picking fresh thyme and rosemary for their drinks. Our server was sweet and made our drinks just right. Guess what!? We showed up at 9:20pm and she could not find our reservations. But she said no problem, we can seat you. So she sent us up on the elevator. As soon as we make it upstairs, we were stopped and told last call was at 9:30pm, the bar was closed. Side eye, this must had been a long elevator ride. Any who, I showed them the email confirmation and they would not honor it. The guy with black slick back hair was rude. The ladies were apologetic. The sound system sounded muffled. I wouldn't recommend only based on the hostility from the guy manager. He stopped us so fast, I didn't even get to admire the view and the space. So I will skip it. Really love the atmosphere. This is a tough location to have a rooftop bar because there really isn't much to look at but they pull it off here. The Front Porch Sour was delicious, probably one of the most balanced sours I've ever had. The duck bahn mi and the sliders were delicious. My only extremely minor ding would be on the cost of some of the items (A pour of Lagavulin 8 was $37?? I expected maybe 25 or 30, it's not like I thought it should be cheap, but it was a little surprising). Will definitely come back (but only get the cocktails lol)! read more
