Consistently fantastic food and the warmest service. The menu is simple, like any cafe you can find in southern Italy, and most of the products are imported from there! Flora is a neighborhood gem and they put so much love and care into everything they do - so much so that during this crisis, they are continuing service for pick up / take out and despite the hardship that I'm sure they are facing without being able to open their restaurant, they lowered their prices to be even more accessible to customers during this time. All of the pastas are simple and perfect, the eggplant, the meatballs, the parmigiana salad -- and when they can open to the public again, just sitting for a coffee and pastry is the best! read more

I went to Flora for Brunch with friends and it was fantastic! We were all blown away by how delicious our meals were. We started with a large plate of imported cheese and meats, this had a beautiful presentation and was so fresh. I also had the fried eggs with southern Italian stew, I love that I got eggs but also had the homemade stew that was very flavorful. We ended our meal with Flora's chocolate cake and gelato which was rich and delicious. The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. It was the perfect local cafe with authentic homemade Italian food. I'm looking forward to going back to Flora soon! read more

Came to the restaurant due to its proximity to Prospect Park. Outdoor seating was nice and the waiter put two tables together to accommodate 3 of us. I had the spaghetti frittata. While it had tomato sauce in it, it was dry and needed a sauce of some sort on the top--the restaurant could not provide ketchup and would not provide tomato sauce. I ended up using balsamic another friend was using on her crostini. Menu prices were high because there is no tipping. The wait staff was responsive and, other than getting sauce for my meal, service was good. read more

This place is very special & if I lived in the neighborhood I would be here often! The latte was great. I ordered the eggs in purgatory and the ravioli. I wish the bread was warmer/thicker for the egg dish but it was fresh and the perfect portion. Ravioli was solid. It was a cold day and honestly the restaurant was freezing but it's all windows so I don't think much could have been done. I wasn't sure if I had to go up to the counter to close out or not and finally when up there so that was a little confusing but I really enjoyed it. Really authentic Italian food. I ordered an antipasto mozzarella di bufala and it was so fresh, the prosciutto was as well very tasty. To finish I took the affogato al caffe and this was the booommmmbbb! The place is very nice design, sober. One little bad point was the service. There was no server and so I waited a little bit. But worth the wait. I recommend this place if you want to have great Italian food on brunch or diner. read more

SO authentic - I swear they use the highest quality ingredients imported from Italy here, the cheese and brioche I had there was so simple and somehow I'm still dreaming about it. Also amazing service. The team there treated our group of 8 new moms so well when we had a meet up there. I've passed by this place many times but could never find it on Yelp so I didn't try it out. I'm glad to see it's finally posted on here but I'm sure this means this hidden gem will get much more traffic now! Love love love this place. I live nearby and waited too long before trying Flora. I think it's unfortunate that folks are in such a rush, since this place, the staff and the food are so authentic, they cry for time to savor, take note of the quality and enjoy the warm hospitality...much as you might if you were really in Italy. I've enjoyed salads, sandwiches and the exquisite gelato, chocolate unlike any elsewhere. NB: Fridays(?) Imported fresh buffalo mozzarella is served with a generous side of prosciutto, absolutely sublime. I think the owner et. al. are lovely, caring, knowledgable. read more

I've been waiting for this place to open for over a year! Right now they serve only breakfast and lunch but I know they have plans to extend to dinner, wine, etc. Food is rich and authentic Italian. Service is warm and friendly. I come here a few times a week and have tried the number of things on their menu. Especially love the (I don't know the Italian names) white fig tart, any of the focaccia dishes, orange almond cake, and hot chocolate. So happy to have FloRa in the neighborhood! I was beyond impressed to see this restaurants efficiency while operating during COVID 19, my food came very fast, the service was great ( compliments to my server a tall blonde kid around 15), and the food was all around delicious. My only grievances with this dining experience is that I had to sit on the sidewalk and they had no cheese to put on my pasta, but besides that the overall dining experience was excellent. read more

No hello or welcome as we entered the restaurant this afternoon. It was not horribly busy, FYI. We were seated at the table next to the entrance right away. I asked our greeter/waitress if everything was okay cause the vibe was strangely unwelcoming as she approached us to take drinks order. She mentioned that there was a situation of mixing up guests on getting incorrect orders, etc.. The food was okay, not great. While we were having our meal no one checked on us to make sure things were okay. And when we were leaving, no good bye, either. We won't return here, again, probably. We had my daughter's baptism here and it was phenomenal. The food was outstanding, we had the entire restaurant to ourselves and the service was fantastic. I would highly recommend hosting your private party at their restaurant. The food is very unique and my entire Italian family thought it was wonderful. Don't miss the pasta: the eggplant parm and the artichoke pasta (a special one day), are both standouts. The perfectly cooked and wonderful breaded pork chop is a thing of beauty. I ran into this little gem which had just opened two weeks ago this weekend, and it went far beyond my expectation. The interiors/wall display is artful blend of rustic modernism & minimalism and traditional Italian vibes. The service was top notch - we sat outside on a heated day, and the owner offered us free Italian soda & constantly filled our water glasses with ice cubes. He even provided some quality prosciutto to our little dog and had interesting conversation and banter with us. The food, most importantly, was so fresh & delectable - the capers, olives, tomatoes and tuna fillet were the best I've ever had. Even my boyfriend who normally doesn't eat raw tomatoes finished all the tomatoes on his plate. You can't do Italian cuisine right without having the best tomatoes! We asked the owner where their ingredients were from and the owner told us most of their ingredients were imported from Italy and Canada by express. No wonder they tasted so good! They are great in their own way, but if you are curious what simple, delicious food southern Italy has to offer please do come in for a taste. Not enough time come in for a homemade pastry, or my favorite Caprese torte, with a legit espresso. Less time still or heading to Prospect Park for a picnic. Grab a quarter pound of imported speck, and another of prosciutto to go with some melon. And service has a degree of warmth not often seen about these days.
