WOW! They did an AMAZING job with my cabinets. Long list of reasons as to why you need to hire them…read moreASAP: Skilled craftsmanship. My cabinets turned out beautiful. No streak or brush marks. They do not look like they were painted, they look like I bought them that way. That's professional. That's beautiful. That's art. They do not cut corners! Please note that they do not just paint your cabinets and call it a day. It's an extensive and laborious multi-step process, which they take care and effort to complete. Lots of washing and sanding and priming - then painting. They even patch any existing damaged areas. They are thorough and detailed! Clean. I confess - I'm a bit of a neat freak. I also have really expensive wood floors that I was slightly freaking out about them getting paint on. NOPE. Not one tiny little, stray spec of paint anywhere. Nico made sure to clean up after himself before leaving everyday. He even mopped my kitchen floor one day, which officially makes him one of my favorite humans. Timely. They gave me a start date, which they very much started on. And kept me informed of how things were moving along. They didn't waste my time. Nico was at my front door when he said he would be - not one minute later. Transparent. From the quoting process, to project start, project duration, and project completion - I knew what was happening and what to expect. The quote is super detailed, which is awesome and not always the case with other home pros. Reasonably and competitively priced. Definitely cheaper than buying new cabinets. Especially since my existing cabinets were in perfectly good condition. It was a lot less than I had expected it to be. Friendly. Such wonderful human beings. Really. A wonderful company to work with from beginning to end. Highly recommend them - you'll be just as happy and ecstatic as I am if you choose them for your next project.

I went with Marian for the floors because he was a lot more economical that what my general…read morecontractor was quoting and he came highly regarded from my realtor. Marian is super friendly and was very accommodating to my schedule especially given the delays with Covid. When it came to installing hardwood in the bedrooms and sanding and staining the floors, I'm really pleased with how they turned out. Marian provided two basic stain samples, but if you wanted something different expect to go and do the mixing yourself and tell him exactly what you want. However, part of my job also included replacing my baseboards which did not turn out quite as great. I think there might have been confusion in my expectations and my walls aren't completely straight, but I wasn't prepared for the number of imperfections. However, know that if you get your baseboards done ask questions and expect there to be extra work after installation. Overall, I would recommend if you are just doing flooring and Marian is super easy to work with and cares about your satisfaction. He made it right when I expressed frustrations. Just be sure to ask a lot of questions if you are a novice at getting your floors done.

We worked with Dan at Great Floors to replace carpet with engineered hardwood in the two bedrooms…read moreof our condo. While the job was completed at a reasonable price, it was more trouble than it should have been. I'd choose another company if I had to do it over again. Despite paying Dan to handle all aspects of the install, his contractors relied on my condo building engineer to complete some of the work, and even left early before the job was finished. When Dan sent a final payment request without following up on the end results, I messaged him to let him know there were some areas that required touching up. As a paying customer, I didn't think it was unreasonable to let him know that some areas were not completed to my satisfaction, but he didn't respond well to this communication and got very defensive. Another resident in my building reported a similar experience with Dan. Eventually, one of his contractors came back out and begrudgingly completed the requested touch-ups. A little less than a year after the install, I had some issues with an area of the install. I reached out to Dan for recommendations, but he never responded.

I was also selling a condo which had very worn floors that needed refinishing. Dan Corvo came, evaluated & made recommendations that were all amazing. For the bungalow, he suggested I go for a darker color to match the wood. He asked something like, " do you want to refinish or restore?" I was a little tentative but decided to listen to the expert. I am so glad I did!! They are stunning!! As for the condo, he suggested I don't use a stain. Just refinish & protect. They are beautiful, light & clean looking. Of course, they could have made more money if they had also stained the floors, but suggesting otherwise proves they care about customers more than the almighty dollar. Last but not least, all the workers on both jobs were nice, respectful and cleaned up after the project. The price for both was very fair. I am so glad I used Great floors & listened to Dan.

We tried to get a proposal from another "Oak Park" firm (which is actually just an Oak Park mail drop) and they never even came back with a proposal. Twelve years ago, we had the house painted and went cheap and regretted it. We definitely got our moneys worth with Thomas Restoration. Highly recommend.
