Janka White is a wonderful salesperson and a delight, as are all the staff. After visiting many carpet stores, we knew our search was finallly over when we saw the huge selection, helpful staff, and great prices. We were able to get a unique patterned carpet and have it installed exactly on our timetable. Buying a new home is stressful enough - we were so happy replacing the carpet was a breeze. read more

I was about to buy carpet at Home Depot because I'm from out of town but I am the Trustee for a local property. My daughter, an architect, said, no Mom, you have to go to this flooring place we checked out in Berkeley next door to Lumber Liquidators on the frontage road along side I-80E. We had a deadline for our installation and we were on their doorstep at 8:00 AM. They open at nine, FYI. They have a huge selection of remnants and we only had a small area to carpet. We were able to pick out the perfect carpet for our needs and it was installed the very next day. You can't do much better than that. Oh wait, yes you can. The carpet installer, Dave, did an amazing job with a very challenging project. He made a seam disappear. You would be hard pressed to find better service and a better work ethic than Floor Dimensions offers. read more

After many visits to different flooring stores and feeling let down,  I happened upon Floor Dimensions and was very impressed with their entire selection and stellar team. I worked with Adrian and he was most helpful, knowledgable about different products and assisted me in finding the carpet which best suited my needs. The task of selecting my flooring was actually fun and the entire process from beginning to end was completely painless!! Thanks Adrian and Floor Dimensions for making this as smooth as possible and for being so great to work with!!! read more

This is THE place for flooring, Just had vinyl tiles installed in our kitchen, family room & laundry room. When we were planning the project the sales staff spent lots of time helping us select the perfect product for our needs. Then they came out to measure & provide an estimate. The estimator was knowledgeable and arrived promptly. We liked their quote because it broke out all the parts of the job so we understood exactly how the costs were apportioned. They estimated that the work would take 4- 5 days, and it did. The installation crew showed up each day at 8:30 and were fast and efficient. We had the tiles placed on the diagonal and they did it in the most artistic way possible. They were real pros. On Saturday after the work was completed we noticed that one tile had a flaw. Within 15 minutes of e-mailing Floor Dimensions about the problem I had their commitment to come out and replace it the following Monday morning. And they were there at 8:30. By 9:30 it was done! These folks know their business and we're going back in two days to contract with them to replace the rest of the floors in the house. read more

I read nothing but bad reviews regarding the products that they sell here. However, the gentleman who helped us was quite friendly and went above and beyond helping to get us on our way to selecting some nice laminate hardwoods--- too bad the product sucks. read more

Earlier this year my husband and I decided to replace the flooring in most of our home. We wanted to eliminate most of the carpet and replace most of it with laminate flooring. We also wanted all baseboards replaced. We only wanted the floors to have minimal carpet. As you might imagine, this was no small undertaking. We decided to go with Floor Dimensions as our contractor, since we had heard many good things about this business. Jason was our salesperson, Ryan, the owners son, was our coordinator and Janka, the owner, assisted me in selecting carpet. I must also mention Michael, the man who installed the laminate. Michael is very meticulous and did an outstanding job laying the laminate. We have had many compliments on his work. Now the laminate flooring is in, the carpet is in and the new baseboards are in. It could not look more beautiful. The job went very smoothly and everything was done very timely. This has added much more value to our home. We were very impressed with the workmanship and professionalism of everyone at Floor Dimensions. We highly recommend this business for your flooring needs. read more

I gave these folks did an interesting job: Replace the floor in my vintage 1970 Airstream. Their floor is superior to what came from the factory! They tore up all the old squares we put in and all the old squares the factory put in. Then they replaces it with one single seamless sheet of linoleum. Airstreams have lots of funny little angles all over the place and it fit perfectly when they were done. We camp with a couple of big athletic dogs who love to make a muddy mess of the trailer but now there are not seams to hold dirt. They floated the floor first so the entire thing is all one flat surface. It's a joy to view and a joy to walk on barefooted. Thank you. read more

I went to this business to get flooring for my kitchen. They had competitive prices on most major brands of linoleum. I brought in my measurements and ordered the linoleum. They offered installation as well. When the order came in they contacted me and set up a time for installation. Two latino men arrived to install the flooring and one of them did not speak very good English. The one that did told me I'd have to pay an additional fee because the job would cost more than the quoted bid. I immediately contacted the store and the manager asked to speak with him. I did not have to pay this additional money he asked for. Once this was cleared up they began the work. After several hours of work, he told me they would have to return the next day because they didn't have enough linoleum. They returned the next day and proceeded to do an awful job installing the flooring. When the job was completed I was not happy with the work, but happy to see them go. The one who wanted the extra money complained they weren't being paid enough for the job. I decided then, from now on, to ask if the work is subcontracted out . If the answer is yes, I will go elsewhere no matter the cost. It wasn't worth it to have to deal with low skilled workers with bad attitudes because they weren't being compensated well. It was a waste of money, on poor workmanship and an overall negative experience with this company. Never again!!! read more

I would just like to say thank you for the most wonderful customer service. I have had hardwood, tile and carpet installed in the past couple of years and have been so pleased. The quality of the products has been exceptional. I wish I could add a picture so that you could see for yourselves. There were so many products to choose from and the prices were extremely competitive. The installation was completed in a prompt and professional manner. Every person I have worked with has been extremely helpful, always following up later to make sure everything was satisfactory. I love to refer people to this company because I know they will be so pleased with their experience. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else for flooring! read more

I'm an interior designer working primarily in the bay area. I've tried different flooring companies for myself as well as my clients with mixed results. A few years ago I used Floor Dimensions to put hardwood throughout my house. I thought they were incredibly professional, responsive and reasonably priced. Since then, I've recommended them to my clients looking for carpet, hardwood, cork, etc. They have a great selection. Their staff is knowledgeable and accommodating. They really go the extra mile for you. All my clients have been 110% satisfied with them. Good work Floor Dimensions! read more

I used Floor Dimensions for new linoleum in my dental office in Pinole. They had a lower bid (by 25%), and did a very nicely finished (coved up the walls) installation. They finished ahead of schedule, were tidy, and the remounted toilets didn't leak. I couldn't ask for much more. read more

Received a message from the owner awhile back that they have re-organized the business to provide better service.

We were tight on time, and unable to get a specific carpet from another store. Jason, and Floor dimensions, not only got the carpet, but also were able to install (the day) before we moved into our new home. This made the move easier, and living in the house much more enjoyable! They worked hard for my business and happiness. read more

I highly recommend Floor Dimensions in Albany! If you are blessed with the opportunity to work with Jason, you're in good hands. After going to The Floor Store on a Sunday (Floor Dimensions is closed on Sundays) and dealing with someone who offered little help, we went to Floor Dimensions the next weekend. We went there with a sample of what we were looking for and we actually expected to spend another good hour or so of our weekend searching their inventory as we had the previous weekend at The Floor Store! We had the good fortune of Jason asking us how he could help us. We showed him what we were looking for and by the time we got back from the restroom, he had already pulled a few close matches to choose from! He recognized the type of wood and matched it in a matter of minutes. We left with a sample to take home and sit with for a bit and we placed our order the following weekend. A few days later we heard back from Jason, unfortunately, that item was no longer available. Needless to say, we were bummed BUT he offered to bring more samples by (to my house!) on his way home from work. Later that evening he and his wife dropped off at least eight more options, one of which worked great! I cannot believe the wonderful, above-and-beyond service he provided - from the very first day thru the last minute of interaction!! I could see if I was a big time customer buying thousands of dollars worth. I was only doing my stairs and spent less than $2k but was given $1M worth of service! Thank you to Jason and Floor Dimensions!! We will be back! read more

The purpose of this review is to formally and publicly commend Floor Dimensions for the excellent service they provided as the company I chose to buy from and to install my new basement flooring. I have never before written a review like this one on an entirely unsolicited bases. However, in this case I am so impressed by the support and service provided by Floor Dimensions that I felt compelled to go on record with my praise. The staff at Floor Dimensions truly deserve it. In an era where exceptional one-to-one customer service excellence has virtually disappeared, the work that they did should be held up as an example for others to try to emulate. What particularly impressed me about the level of assistance Floor Dimensions provided is that there were no rewards involved. It appears that it is simply their extraordinary commitment to excellence that motivates them to go that extra mile. Floor Dimensions truly deserve to be congratulated for providing top-level customer service and support beyond my expectations. read more

I love this place! I first came to them because a friend of mine bought his laminate floors there, and found their prices to be the most reasonable. I'm working on a big laminate-installation project at home, one small section of our condo at a time. The owners have been more than accommodating of my somewhat unusual circumstances, in that I order small batches of flooring at a time, instead of all at once. They have been super helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. Plus, it's pretty great to walk into a store like this where I'm recognized and called by name - as opposed to Home Depot, where you're lucky if you can hunt down an associate to answer a question. I highly recommend Floor Dimensions. read more

Floor Dimensions is great to work with. On a recent residential remodel job they were incredibly helpful (both on the phone and in the store), were timely both in calling me back and visiting the jobsite for dimensioning; not only that, but they didn't treat us like lesser customers when we asked if they had any scraps or leftovers for a small room. I will definitely be using them in the future and recommend them to anyone looking for a floor solution. read more

My wife and I had a wonderful experience with Floor Dimensions. The staff was very helpful in working with our needs for new flooring. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience with Floor Dimensions. I was seeking a specific product and color and while a competitor said it was discontinued, Jason at Floor Dimensions went the extra mile, made a call, and found enough of the discontinued tile as back stock--there was enough to put on hold for my project. This alone convinced me go with Floor Dimensions. In addition, they were able to move the install date up, and the guys that came out were very efficient and friendly. When I called about a small goof that needed to be redone, they came out quickly and took care of it in addition to a scratch that occurred after the original install. I am having hardwood floors put in at my cottage in Truckee. I went to Floor Dimensions to see samples of the flooring my contractor recommended. Tracy was very helpful and low pressure. She cheerfully showed me some alternatives to the product I was considering, and gave me relative cost information. Thanks Tracy. read more

I had a Great experience with Floor Dimensions! I had to help my grandmother find flooring for the new home that she purchased. I went to many companies in the Bay Area. I had done my homework. Janka was extremely helpful. Floor Dimensions were willing to negotiate on their price. The service was great through the entire process. The installers were completely professional. We did have a slight glitch with floor connecters. One call to Janka and the problem was resolved right away. Floor Dimensions were serious about keeping us happy, and we were happy with the results. I would highly recommend this company. Do your own homework. Go to other companies first, and then bring your estimates with you to Floor Dimensions. read more

Floor Dimensions provided fantastic, helpful service. My husband and I looked at a number of different stores for click-lock bamboo flooring that we could float over our old linoleum, and found varying quality and a lot of contradictory information. At Floor Dimensions, though, we found an attractive high-quality floor for a great price, and the sales staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful -- even though we were just buying for a one-room job. Oskar did a fantastic job of showing me around, answering my questions, and getting a crazy-quick restock in when they were one box short of what we needed, and both he and Jason answered installation questions for me after I had already purchased the materials. They even pitched in to help me load my car, and made sure that I got underlayment for the floor when I had forgotten about it. And the flooring that we purchased is in great condition -- not a single damaged board, actually! In short, we are thrilled with both the floor and the purchasing experience. read more

I was in a bind, having sustained water damage to a laminate floor I purchased 3 years ago. The laminate was discontinued and I was having a real hard time finding leftover stock. I live in Los Angeles and I reached out to Floor Dimension for help. Tracy heard the distress in my voice and got back to me the next day. She told me that she was able to get the necessary laminate to repair my floor. They weren't even the ones that were installing it, since i live hundreds of miles away, Thanks to the compassionate people at Floor Dimensions that care about people and not only profit. read more

I wasn't sure what type of flooring I wanted when I walked in the door, but there it was--Marmoleum! Looks just like the marbled endpapers of a Victorian novel and has a wonderful soft feel. There are plenty of horror stories around about installers who don't know how to install it properly, especially with coving. But Adrian assured me he had the right guy. Oh boy he was a master. Even in tight spaces with numerous right angles, that installer made the Marmoleum magically curve up the wall and around the turns. My 1940s kitchen has just entered the world of high design thanks to Floor Dimensions and my pocket is not as depleted as I feared. The crew showed up per the schedule and left the place cleaner than when they arrived. A totally fantastic result. read more

After I saw all of the negative reviews for this firm, I thought I should make a point of writing a review. I have twice contracted tile installs with Floor Dimensions (FD). Each time, I had a good experience. The price was reasonable, and the installation was excellent. Also, FD let me immediately take samples home to figure out what I wanted. With Home Depot Expo, almost everything I like required me to wait two weeks to get the sample to take home. I must admit that I did not ask FD to break out their bids. I only carried about the total cost. Indeed, when I paid others to replace my foundation, wood flooring and plumbing, I never asked them to itemize the bids. I simply selected the lowest bid. It is true that the installers were non-union subcontractors. However, my experience is that most low cost remodeing work these days is performed by non-union employees. So subcontractors are not much of a stretch. read more

This is the second time we have worked with Floor Dimensions and we couldn't be happier. I checked the prices all over the Bay Area and on line and their price was better than some and comparable to others. The service was superb in all respects. The job required them to deal with a number of different people, each of us with different opinions. The stores staff is knowledgeable, friendly and very professional. I went in many times over several weeks and was always treated well. as were my colleagues. And the men who installed the carpet couldn't have been nicer, cleaner and more thorough. I'm shocked by some of the negative reviews here. We are about as particular and exacting as it comes and we were 100% positive. Susan read more

What are all these reviews about???? I admit, I did grow up with a contractor in the family so I am used to contracts and timing etc. But these guys were willing to go so much out of their way to make sure my job was cool. And it was. I bought a click-in floor, stained real wood no less, with an awesome cushion underneath, not foam, but some sort of rubber. It has held up with two dogs and countless clients. the floor was great, the price fantastic. And the personal service was eye contact with what they said is what I got, every step of the way. Can't get better than that. read more

After asking friends, looking at other flooring websites and countless Lumber Liquidators catalogs, we decided to look at what Floor Dimensions had to offer. We were set on dark laminate flooring and found several, all very reasonably priced, at the showroom in Berkeley. The sales staff was friendly and knowledgeable and suggested that we take the three samples that we were considering home for comparison (no fee or deposit was required, unlike other showrooms that we'd gone to). We settled on a beautiful dark cherry wood and made arrangements for installation in 2 months time. We live in a condo that has very strict homeowners association rules and had to make sure that the underlayment was to code and that the workers knew the parking and working hours and we had to schedule a designated elevator to be padded. All this took time and Floor Dimensions didn't rush us or pressure us to do the job earlier. The installers arrived promptly on a Monday and said that they'd be done by Friday. My husband has severe dust allergies and asthma so we opted to stay in a motel while the work was being done. We, knowingly, added this expense into the floor budget. As the week went on, it became clear that the job would not be finished by Friday so we added 4 extra days to our motel stay. The floor is absolutely beautiful and the installers left our condo almost dust-free. We were very pleased with the project except for the extra money that we ended up spending for the extra motel fees. I wrote an email to Janka White, making her aware of our situation and within 24 hours received a reply with apologies and asking us where we would like a check sent to cover the extra costs! I have to say, I was amazed and never expected to recoup the money. Floor Dimensions REALLY does standby their promise of 100% customer satisfaction. I would recommend this company to anyone. This is the first Yelp review that I have ever done but the service that I received from Floor Dimensions was well above and beyond what could be expected from a service company. As a General Contractor, I have used Floor Dimensions in the past due to their friendly sales staff and competitive prices. My experience with their installers on my last job confirms why I will continue to use Floor Dimensions. I promised my clients that we would be done with the remodel and out of their house by Christmas 2012. As with any large home remodel, the floor subcontractors are the last guys in. On this job we had figured 4 - 5 days, start to finish. As scheduled, the demo guys arrived on Monday, Dec. 17th to start the tear out of the old floor. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the job was delayed by 2 days. Understanding my situation and knowing my deadline, Floor Dimensions brought additional guys on to my job, worked late and even worked Saturday and Sunday allowing us to finish on Sunday by 4pm the day before Christmas Eve. Needless to say, this made my clients and myself extremely happy. A+ for customer service. read more

This is the second time I used Floor Dimensions on Eastshore Hwy in Albany, and again I am delighted with my entire experience. He took time to help me work through exactly what I wanted, and it turned out perfectly. The crews that came in for installation were professional, on time and left the area clean at the end of each day. When there was a challenge with a sliding door, it was resolved immediately. Adrian and his team had executed everything perfectly and the runners are beautiful. Throughout the process, he was a pleasure to work with.
