The only positive thign si that the tiles and wood are slightly cheaper than in better stores, meaning maybe 30 or 40 cents a sq foot Cons: - poor quality in porduct. We ordered nearly 2,000 sq foot of bamboo florring, half of it had defects where the gloss was missing , there were cracks, holes and scratches (new produc tin boxes). You cannot return wood florring even for defects apparently so you'll have to calculate in 50 percent watse at a minumum. The wood also seperated after time in same areas due to defective tongues. -poor customer support, 2 cahsier for 20 people, it takes on average 30 min to chekc out -poor quality (can't stress this enough). I bough 1,5000 sq foot of granite tiles. These tiels were battered in the box and even broke after beign installed. I have never seen a granite tile break just by walking on them if installed correctly -Wood floor is their own product but they warranty is not worth the paper written on it. The warranty only covers defects after installment and you have to proof they occurred after it was installed. Only covers the food. Again, couldn't be worse. -Inventory. An inventory system is non existant, if you call a store and ask if they ahve 60 cases of soemthing, and you drive there probabaly they have 10 or 5. They even acknowledge they have no real inventory system -Inventory - I accidentally returned tiles I bought at Lowe's to the Plano, TX store. They placed them for sale and when I returned to corretc my mistake they told me it's no in the inventory, there is no way I could have returned it. After 2 min walking in the store, I found them on sale in the cleareance section. - I managed to return three boxes of wood florring (even though it is against their policy, I started to pull them out of the boxes in front of all customers and show them the hles and deep rips in the wood so they folded). Within 30 min they were returned to the section and put on sale. Don't waste your time, buy at a decent store and pay a little more. I'll never buy here again, unfortunately I learned the hard way after buying so my product to redo my bottom floor of my house. read more

I went to this as recommended by my contractor and I was very impressed with the choices. It is a very big store. Best of all, the people were very nice and accomodating. I went back a few more times and was treated the same way every time. I have looked around at other places but this store keeps me coming back so I finally bought all my flooring for my new house. So I've been having issues finding a specific type of tile. I have driven all around Dallas trying to find the perfect fit for my bathroom project. I found myself at this floor and Decor location because I haven't had any good experiences at the others. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a friendly young lady. I later found out her name was Kamaria. I walked around and saw a few things I liked but I needed a second opinion and was a little confused on how the prices worked. I went back to the front and asked for some help. The young lady who greeted me earlier tried to find someone for the area but no one was answering. She took the initiative to assist me which I was truly grateful for. To make a long story short, she showed awesome customer service. She is the reason I will drive from Dallas to Plano to make any future purchases for my home. She made everything simple and made me feel like she truly wanted to help not like I was just another customer. Give this girl a raise she deserves it ! read more

Returned some sample tiles. The young lady who was at the returns desk was busy 4 ways multitasking as well as anyone I have seen. Mariela was conversing with her customer in Spanish, working the register for the return, answering the phone, talking on the store 2-way radios to check stock, and kept it all under control and was cheerful and pleasant the entire time. The phone calls and radio conversations were in English. It was all smooth and seamless. I was next in line and it was the same with me, but all in flawless English. My husband and I are first time DYIers and are in the process of redoing our master shower. We were picking up some supplies from the Plano location and Flip stopped by to ask us if he could help with anything. We told him our plan and asked him if we were getting the right materials for the job and he spent a great amount of time with us explaining what supplies work best and why others might not (i.e. with premixed grout you don't worry about mixing in the right amount of water or achieving the right consistency and they already contain latex or urethane, which improves adhesion and eliminates the need for sealing). He also talked us through some processes that we didn't even think about. He answered all of our questions and was EXTREMELY AWESOME about it! Recently purchased tile for 3 showers for a new home build. The store selection was great. The staff (Sasha, Stevie, Dayna, Terrance and Ralph) were super helpful. One of the tiles I picked was discontinued and Dayna in the design center help me find something to substitute. Sasha placed the order for me. We purchased tile and grout from this store and the tile was fine but the grout, which was supposed to be brown turned almost white after it dried. Went back to the store and was basically told that it was the installers fault (they said that he washed out the color during cleanup). How do you washout the color of something that is a consistant color throughout? Sounds like an inferior product to me. Had to remove the grout from apprx 450 sq ft of tile and redo. I was refered to this store by Lowes. I told the guys in the floor dept at Lowes about my experience and they said they will probably never refer anyone to this store again. I bought Siena Verde ceramic tiles from Floor Décor in Feb 2010. After my contractor installed it in my shower room, I tried to do some cleaning, and I found the problem that the ceramic tiles absorbed water instantly even on its glazed surface after I sprayed water on it to clean - the ceramic tiles' color turned from light to dark. The glazed surface is not supposed to absorb water, this is a serious quality defect. We went to Floor Décor complained about the quality defect. But the store manager Anthony Lagmay told us it is normal for the ceramic tiles, since it will be dry after hours. We don't think it is normal. We consulted other stores, like Home Depot, because Floor Décor compared their tiles to Home Depot's tile on their Advertisement - I have the pictures to prove it, we also provided all the picture evidence to the store manager, we also tested the water absorption issue right at the store with the store manager, and he saw exactly how serious and fast the tile absorbs water even on its glazed surface. The employee who work at Home Depot' floor department told me that their tiles are not like that, and he sprayed water onto Home Depot's tile which is compared by Floor Décor, Home Depot's tile doesn't absorb water, and it is thicker than Floor Décor's tile by around 30%. Obviously, Floor Décor is misleading the customers on its advertisement by comparing to the home depot tiles. After we complained many times, Floor Décor agreed to ask a floor inspector to do inspection. After that, they didn't contact us and didn't give us the inspection report. read more

I had the worst retail experience ever in Plano. In one trip, I was lied to and sold two butcher blocks of differing wood types after being assured they were the same, I asked him how he could tell which wood color it was without the sku and he said he could just tell by the color. I was also told there were no islands in stock by the same associate while standing 3" from the 2 in stock...I was told I was wrong and that the 72" by 36" islands right in front of us were 96" by 25" countertops until I made him measure where the associate still attempted to save face. I was told that those islands were builder grade even though Floor and Decor does not offer a Builder's Grade Island and again he tried to save face until I inquired why there was not price difference between the builder's grade and regular grade on the islands. I am on the way back to return the wrong grout that he insisted was correct after telling him what my tile guy had told me to order. Bob's behavior was not only ignorant but self serving, egotistical, and unapologetic. I also paid in cash and was told that they could not refund cash but would have to send a "refund check." At least the other associates told me that they had no idea what kind of wood they were selling. read more
