No doubt about it. An easy 5 stars all the way for Fleet Feet Virginia Beach store. The location is directly behind Chili's. Parking is plentiful and lot clean. The signage is very good, but not necessarily from the road. I had an exchange and Jordan was delighted to assist me. There was a sizing issue at another location I discovered. Jordan went right to work on using their sizing technology for best fit. I had a 3D scan completed with a ln analysis of pressure point on the bottom of my feet. Afterwards Jordan presented this information on an iPad. They were out of the Hoka's color I wanted, but ordered for an I store pickup. After taking care of that I browsed the store. Discount and close out merchandise is in the rear. Several brands of shoes are carried. They also carry high quality inserts and the best brands of socks including Feetures and Wicked Comfort. Garmin watches are also carried. Sign up for Fleet Feet membership free online and get points for purchases for rewards money. It's easy to do. Jordan mentioned they are a franchised store with two locations. The other is in Greenville, NC. Not taking anything away from other area running stores, but in my opinion the sizing technology is superior at Fleet Feet. I will return soon to pick up my shoes. I had a problem on finding the perfect shoe. They helped me find the right shoe size and inserts to help with my flat feet. The new inserts I bought has helped with the pain I would have normally. It is pretty pricey but it is the same price online when buying a high quality insert for your shoe. read more

My son has big wide feet. I have always ordered online and hoped for the best. I was recommend to check this place out by another athletic shoe store to see if other brands would work for his feet. Never know this place existed since it is hard to see from the main and very busy road (Va beach blvd). We received quick service and they measured his feet size and soon out came 2 pairs of running shoes to try on. I went in today as this store was recommended to me by my dentist office. I had been putting off getting a good pair of walking shoes. When I walked into the store I was immediately greeted. I was helped out by Anthony. He walked me through the entire fitting process. Anthony was super knowledgeable, welcoming, and not pushy. He advised me on the fitting process and explained in detail what we were going to do. Then he went over the data on my feet and brought out shoes based on the report. DO NOT GO TO FLEET FEET in Va. Beach!!!!!!! I live in Va beach and went to the Fleet Feet store in Va. Beach. I was very happy with my purchase two years ago, so I went back on Feb 26th and spent $148 on a pair of New Balance. Since my purchase, I have been in pain for two weeks. Fleet Feet fit me in a new pair of shoes that hurt my feet, my knees and my lower back. I am a PE teacher and I am on my feet all day. I went back to Fleet Feet yesterday. March 12. They fit me in a new pair of shoes, Brooks Glycerin and said that will be $20 more. I said "I really do not feel I should pay $20 more when I have been in pain for two weeks." They said ... oh well you have to pay the $20 more. Can I get a discount? I asked. They proceeded to say, no!!!! So, I asked for a full refund on the shoes I bought two weeks ago. I got a full refund and I had to walk out of the store in bare feet. Who lets someone walk out of a store with no shoes on??? VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!! I would be embarrassed if I was the owner of this store. I looked online on the Fleet Feet website and these same exact shoes are $120 NOT $160. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!! read more

Average runner here, only get about 20 miles a week in easy and long runs spread throughout the week. Was previously doing all my roadwork in Adidas ultra-boosts but wanted to get a "real" running shoe. Went to REI and Dick's sporting goods looking for a specific shoe but they did not have what I was looking for. Fleet feet was opened and I was pleasantly greeted by the staff. I honestly didn't know much about running shoes but I took an assessment which gave me specifics on my feet and which shoes match me. Scott was awesome, he knows his stuff about running and handled my entire visit very professionally. He picked out 6 different shoes for me and really took his time on helping me pick out my shoes. Awesome running store with super knowledgeable employees. Every one was very friendly, they measured my feet and then analyzed my gait and we found that my ankles were bending on my foot strikes. They brought out a plethora of shoes for me to try and even let me take them outside and jog around the parking lot. With a 60 day return policy if the shoes don't work out for you, you can't beat it. They have everything you need wether you are a casual runner or on your fifth marathon. Parry: I run. I run alot (5x week). I like to run fast (5:30 pace for 4 mile runs and 6:30 pace for 13 mile runs). I run long 1x week (13 miles). I ran injured for 5 months due to wearing incorrectly sized running shoes: Saucony Fastwitch (racing flats). When buying shoes, I always purchase the newer version on Amazon or entered a store and tried on the racing flat that fits then walk out without assistance. Running in racing flats for 2-13 miles did a number on me. Leading to a condition called PTTD. Basically, the arch released and created a flat foot. Running is my therapy and I balked at going to a running store for full analysis. Come on, Saucony Fastwitch versions 6-9 have always been my go to shoe...and wearing Merrell Vapor Glove (minimal shoes) felt sort of fine at work. After visiting the physical therapist and podiatrist, they both agreed that I needed new shoes or never run again. Fleet Feet is a local running store carrying brands/versions not available at big box stores (Dicks Sporting Goods, REI, or a mall store). Fleet Feet staff did an amazing scientific and thorough analysis of my gait, foot, steps, to match me with the right shoe. They email your results and keep the data so you are matched with the correct shoes when coming back. I wanted lightweight with cushion because I love racing flats. The analysis revealed so much about my foot. My shoe size was actually an 11.5 with the right foot being a wide. And they let me try so many shoes which I couldn't believe were lightweight and delivered cushioning. Man, science has really changed since 2008 (When I went to a running store to get the Sauconys). I went with the Saucony Iso Ride 2. I also got sole inserts that are soft, lightweight and provide the needed cushioning for pavement pounding and direction to my dropped arch. Staff was professional and knowledgeable about products and take pride in their store. I can tell they love running and know a lot about the sport. Definitely a store to get the right shoe for your running needs!!!! *Advice...Try on every insole. They are so different from one another. And love the rewards program. I thought that I had reviewed Fleet Feet when I came in and was helped by a fabulous employee about a year ago buying two new pair of shoes. Apparently not, so I'll do it now. The staff here are super friendly, they care about running and are a wealth of knowledge and advice. They're pretty open about what the sell, what they like, if/when it will go on sale, ordering things, and returns/exchanges. They will film you walking/running and show you how it looks so they can recommend the best shoe and fit for you. When you try on shoes they will do various shoes and fits until they find something you love and then they encourage you to go outside in the shoes and run around the building. You can return items for up to 60 days if they don't work for you and they have group fun runs they host as well. They also sell running gear and clothing as well as snacks and gels. Easy as pie to find in the strip mall off Virginia Beach Blvd past town center where the Chili's is located. If you turn at Chili's and keep going down you'll see it on the corner on your righthand side with plenty of parking and friendly employees ready to help you out. It can get crowded if a bunch of people at one time are trying to have their fitting for the first time and be filmed - you could wait upwards of 45 minutes or so since that process is intense. I'd leave and come back if there is going to be a wait because it's not a fast process. But it's well worth it to have it done so you get the right shoes for running! read more

I had a doctors appointment today for Morton's neuroma. Basically an inflamed nerve between the toes that is very painful. We are looking at surgical options to either kill the nerve or just remove it from my feet. On the way home I stopped by here to get a new pair of running shoes. The lady that helped me was amazing! I told her everything that was going on with my feet and what the doctor had said and she did a 3D scan of both my feet. From there she brought out about 8 different types of shoes that would be good for my feet. Long story short. The level of knowledge she had was unbelievable and the customer service is by far the best I have ever experienced. This is now the only shoe store I will ever shop at. I went into this store a week ago to get fitted for some running shoes. (Disclaimer: I know that it is during the pandemic but I have never gotten fitted for shoes before and I was having issues with my foot pain while running so I needed help.) The wonderful lady that helped me was SO sweet and had everything measured out for maintaining at least 6 feet of distance while I was being fitted and wiped down everything after use. I did not even have to explain the issues that I was having with my feet and walking/running because she could tell it all just by the foot test and recording me running around the store. This trip was one of the most helpful non-physician visits that I had and I ended up getting a Brooks Running brand shoe at the end. I have now gone on several runs since buying the shoes and they are amazing. read more

I am not a runner but know that I need good shoes when doing so but unfortunate have been running a few times a week for a few weeks and have been feeling the affects of my current shoes. Previously my husband and I went to a different running store and I wasn't super impressed but it was better than him just randomly going to a store and buying shoes. My friend told me that there was a fleet feet right around the corner from me though so I stopped in there to try them out. Because of Covid they are limiting the amount of customers in the store so I had to wait outside for maybe 5 minutes which wasn't terrible at all. When I got inside, I was immediately greeted and asked what I was looking for today. Explained my situation and was asked if I had been in before. No I hadn't so they explained their foot scanning and while we waited for it to be free (only a few minutes as they had social distancing and cleaning practices in place due to Covid) he asked about running goals, terrain I was running on, pain, what kind of socks I wear, etc. he does the scan and goes over my results and explains what each one is then gets me in a neutral shoe and videos me running and then plays it back in slow motion to see where my foot is striking and any pronation I have along with explaining each thing and what he was looking for and "ideal" practices of each. Then we repeat that process with each shoe I try after that (probably 6 or so) and go over how that helped or didn't and more or less comfort. Then we go over insoles and we try 4 different ones comparing them to each other and I find one that gave me just the little bit more that I needed, he goes and trims them just a little bit to fit perfectly In my shoe. He mentions that they do give a free pair of socks for active/reserve military members and explains a few things to look for and benefits of a synthetic sock instead of cotton and gives me a pair he thinks will be a good one for me to try (as I usually just run in whatever socks I have and they are always cotton). He was super knowledgeable and dealt with all my questions and comments. I never felt rushed despite Covid restrictions limiting the amount of people in the store and how many different shoes and insoles I tried one. I felt like me getting a shoe that would work for me was the only thing that mattered. I unfortunately didn't get the employees name but the receipt says it was Brandon so I hope that's who it was. Would recommend this store to anyone and especially Brandon although each employee in the store at the time seemed to be just as knowledgeable and giving the same great level of customer service. read more

First you stand on a scale like looking machine which will scan your feet which measures your arch, width and so on. From there they give you several shoes to try on based on that information and record how you run in them. Robin gave me her full attention & also along with the purchase of my shoes I received a free pair of socks. Will definitely only be going here from now on for running shoes. Fantastic customer service and tremendous knowledge! Robin and her staff are so warm, friendly & helpful! My son & I went for running shoes. They measured our feet, took video of us walking, identified our issues and had us try different shoes and inserts that will help our individual issues. They were patient, courteous and taught us a lot about what they saw with our gaits. I highly recommend Fleet Feet Sports - their prices are compatible to other stores but their knowledge & know-how beats anything I've had from a "big box" store that sells lots of sporting equipment as well as shoes. The owner Robin was the one that helped us and she was so great! So knowledgeable and thorough. I am kicking myself for not getting the employee's name, but the costumer service was unmatched. I walked in for an analysis and was offered no less than 7 different pairs of shoes to try. They even encouraged me to run on the sidewalk outside of the store - and any runner knows a shoe feels different between a walk and run. They were patient with me while I was comparing shoes and I left with a pair of New Balances that came out two weeks ago. I can't yet find the same shoes readily available online or in chain athletic stores. I will be taking my husband back for an analysis for in-soles for his work boots. Highly recommend! read more

Wish I had gone to Fleet Feet years ago. After an hour and half of extremely personal service, measuring my feet, filming me walking, filming me running, analysis of my stride and how my feet land, and probably 12-14 different pairs of shoes (with test running probably equaled 1/2 mile) I got a pair of Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15 that felt like they were made for me. I was surprised about the size, the fit and how abusive to my body I have been because of the wrong shoes I have been running in. Push the "I believe' button, go and get fitted and enjoy a great run. And if you are wondering, there is no mark-up on the shoes for the service, it is just an amazing specialized running store that invests time in your well being. Really terrible customer service. After reading the online reviews, I went to this store to get my feet scanned because of foot pain. The sign on the door says no more than 3 customers at a time. When I entered the store, there were about 9 customers. I asked if I was allowed to be in the store and I received no response. I waited for 10 minutes before an associate spoke to me. He said that he would be with me right away. During this time, the staff directed 2 customers who were trying on shoes to run towards the door. The customers ran right up to me. They were well within my personal space (MUCH closer than the 3 ceiling tile space). I don't really understand the point of the signs....You would think that the store would have a certain path for the customers trying on shoes to run and a place where customers can wait and feel safe. The display racks are covered with plastic so you can't shop while you wait. After waiting 15 additional minutes for the sales associate, I left the store....If you go to this store, I recommend that you call for their availability. Otherwise, you could be in close proximity to others (risking getting/giving COVID) and waiting a loooong time. read more

Amazing! I bought the blue and pink pair of ASICS a few months back. I went back here to get the same ones in a different color. They didn't have any that I wanted for that until March 2019(which I will be getting later), but they had another version of the shoe in a perfect color. Ugh! I recently signed up for an Ironman, and I needed a solid pair of running shoes to train with. I walked in and was warmly greeted and the staff was so knowledgeable and nice. They took me through the whole fitting process, which was not rushed and I learned a lot. They determined what type of shoe I needed. I thought it was mission accomplished at that point, because the video evidence was very obvious that my legs were aligned with my feet. At this point I was very satisfied but they said "now try all these other shoes and see which one is more comfortable." They brought out five pairs, I tried five pairs, picked the two most comfortable, and they told me to put one of each shoe on and make the call. The customer service was among the best I've ever had. They gave me a free pair of socks because I'm new to running, a bunch of energy gels to try, and flyers for all the local races. I haven't run in over 12 years and recently decided to explore the sport again. A relative advised me to visit Fleet Feet instead of buying shoes online or off the shelf using a best guess selection method. Boy, was she right. This was the most thorough evaluation and test fitting ever. I was measured, filmed and "test drove" about ten pairs of running shoes before making my final selection. The service was superb, the staff extremely knowlegable and I had their complete and undivided attention throughout the process. I now own the perfect running shoe and the cost wasn't too much more than winging it on my own! But, the value was much greater.
