The store is small but has a huge variety of dresses. There are spacious fitting rooms and chairs available for the people who are waiting and excited to see the dresses modeled. The owner was there and very helpful in making sure my daughter got the right size. The cost of most of the dresses is around 3-6 hundred from what I saw. The quality of the dresses were nicer than many other stores we visited. The brand of the dress we purchased was Jovani.

I used to shop here all the time growing up to get my dance wear. For years they seemed to have…read moregood service, never had any issues but things went pretty downhill when I started needing pointe shoes. It's been a couple years since this happened and I now dance in Florida (I just went to a dance wear store down here and had a completely different experience which reminded me of my experience here and I wanted to warn others). The first time I got fitted for pointe shoes- the saleswoman (maybe in her 40s or 50s I would say? Not sure if she's the owner, had short black/brown hair at the time) was SUPER condescending about my feet and made me feel like I was a burden to her because my feet were "so flat" and made more than one comment about it. Mind you I was like 13 at the time and already insecure enough about my body. Whatever- it was my first time being fitted for shoes and it's like the only dance store in Virginia Beach so my mom and I just bought them and left. Getting your first pair is supposed to be fun and memorable and she tainted that experience for me. The second time- maybe a few months later- My dance teacher recommended I try new shoes because she wasn't sure if the ones I was given were the right fit anymore. When I went back, I brought my old pair but let them know what my dance teacher recommended about possibly trying a different brand and they let me know it was going to be I believe another $10 to be fitted for new ones. The woman (same one we had a poor experience with the first time) had me try on two pairs. Two. From the same brand as my old shoes because she said I just might need a different size. Wow what a time consuming process! Totally worthy of being tacked on a $10 fee! When my mother inquired more about the fee and expressed her frustration because the shoes were nearly $100 and that process only took her maybe 5 minutes- the saleswoman just yelled, complained, insulted my mother and said we could take our business elsewhere. So we did. Had to drive to a different store in Chesapeake, but I had a great experience, the saleswoman was very complimentary, had nothing but posts things to say about my feet and recommended a completely different brand to me that ended up feeling a thousand times better. No fee. She spent a good 20 minutes with me making sure they felt good. This was my go-to dance wear store growing up and it's really terrible this happened. Do better.

New store is a little smaller than last it seems, but this one is all new in a nicer building and appealing. Store has a great inventory of most items you would want, or they can order. Parking lot was clean, but sidewalk had duck droppings outside the door and we were greeted by one that frightened by little girl to death. There are really not a lot of options for dance wear in this area and they are more central Virginia Beach with the move. We will keep coming back.
