Seems to me that the entire concept of online ordering and pickup is to save time. Well, apparently that is a foreign concept for the DSW shoe store employees at the Pembroke location. I ordered a pair of shoes for my bride-to-be and received my pickup confirmation just fine. The real problem started when I arrived at the store. The employee at the counter must have been a graduate of the 'Helen Keller School of Customer Service." What should have been a two-minute transaction took about 25 plus. First, I had to repeat my name and order number to the employee several times. Then she couldn't seem to locate my package, which was about three feet from her on the counter the whole time. I had to tell her the product description and she acted completely lost and baffled. But wait, there's more. Using an iPhone device she took at least ten minutes or more trying to print out my receipt. Totally inept at the procedure. She finally gave up and contacted someone in the back office (I assume the manager) who had to print it. This 'manager' then casually took her sweet time emerging from the back room and handed me the receipt, with no explanation or apology for the long delay. I told her that instead of using their online service, I could have come into the store, picked out the item and paid at the register in about half the time. She simply just stared at me. She had the customer relations skills of a sea slug. It was obvious both employees couldn't have given a damn. It was as if both these people had been lobotomized. DSW should stop hiring people with the inability to relate to the customer and who cannot even perform the most simple functions. I'll go elsewhere next time. You should as well. read more
