Got the OG plate again, but this time we got our own sauces (bellyaki and verde). We also got cucumber salad as a side as well. They ran out of garlic rice during our visit which is understandable cause it was that good. Food is solid as the first time. Flavorful and moist chicken, properly cooked rice, and yummy sides. SAUCES. For context I drove like 45 minutes out to haven city because I was expecting taste of the pacific to be at this exact spot. Turns out they are longer open and Flavor belly has replaced them. Flavor Belly is another great addition to HCWC. I recently tried the "Seattle" style chicken, which is basically crispy chicken served with mac salad and a side salad. Overall, the plate was delicious; I really like their mac salad, which I think is a good indicator of a quality teriyaki plate. The standout for me was the sauces. They really add that extra oomph. The teriyaki chicken was solid, but the beef belly was definitely the standout - it reminded me of brisket you'd get at a Korean BBQ spot. The garlic aioli and chili verde were my favorite sauces and paired perfectly with both proteins. I did run into a pricing issue through Uber Eats, but Johnny went above and beyond to fix it. I've been here twice now with my husband. We decided to share the Seattle Style Skin-On Chicken plate with garlic fried rice. The sauces are given on the side and you can order as many as you want without charge. We got the Bellyaki, Verde, and the Asian Chimichurri sauces. We waited about 10 mins for our food and at the time it wasn't busy. When we got our food it was to our surprise to see two rows of sliced chicken with the *crispiest* skin. I'm craving this right now as I'm typing this out. It was perfectly seasoned. The garlic rice was so flavorful and had the perfect amount of garlic. The sauces complimented the plate so well, you can't go wrong with any of them. The iceberg lettuce and mac salad were delicious as well. This is by far our favorite plate. (4.5/5) Seattle Style Skin-On Chicken - I'd never heard of Seattle-style before, but I'll admit this was my new favorite. It mixes well with any of the sauces, and because it comes less seasoned, it's a perfect pairing with the extra sauces you can get. Loved this one. Garlic aioli was requested on the side but good for dipping the shrimp into. I liked the pickled cucumbers too. The teriyaki sauce was pretty good, not too sweet or too salty. The chicken was cooked pretty well. It wasn't super juicy (thin cut) but it wasn't overcooked so that's important. It did lack flavor.. I guess that could be what allows the sauce to shine. I think the portion of chicken was more on par with the price compared to other reviews I saw w/ pics. The rice was just okay. It needed soy sauce or something to balance the sweet from the garlic. The Asian chimichurri was more spicy than full of flavor. I didn't really like the mac salad. It was too sweet for my liking. It would've been a 3 star meal, overall. But the shrimp was worth adding another start to. Kinda pricey, though for 3 pieces at $8, granted they were larger pieces of shrimp. New food stall taken over for the now defunct Taste of the Paradise restaurant. So came to haven city to grab a quick dinner. Surprised that a new restaurant has open, simple menu, not sure if it's a soft opening or if that's it. Teriyaki chicken made two ways, original or crispy, choices of sauces, and two choices of white or garlic rice. $14 for a medium size Teriyaki chicken bowl. Flavor was good, but didn't care for everything plated in one container, the sweet dressing from the salad soaked into my garlic rice, and basically killed any garlic flavor, would of been better in a container with separate partitioned sections. Quality of the grilled chicken was good, but overall, the amount is food you get was lacking a little. Staff was nice and helpful, restaurant was clean. Will keep an eye out for this place for an expansion of the menu. Will give them another try in the near future. 4 stars from me. read more
