The cross sections were really organized and they must have a sharp knife cause it was cleanly cut. The taste was pretty good. I would have liked it more with egg. It was a nice balance of sweet, savory, and sour with some pickled vegetables. Nice snack option in the Haven City Market West Covina. Very tasty and the topokki actually comes with a good amount of rice cakes, some crunchy bits, kimchi, fishcake, etc. -Fried set includes pumpkin, squid, sweet potato, seaweed roll, and dumpling (if I recall correctly). -The fried stuff came out freshly fried, so it takes some time for it to cool down. Comes with a tiny side of tempura dipping sauce, but honestly, just dipped it into my rose topokki instead for a nice creamy kick. 2) Tuna Gimbap: -Tuna mayo, sesame leaf, and pickled daikon. -Comes with a whopping 10 pieces, with the end pieces being slightly more decorative. -They're not that flavorful on their own, unfortunately, could have used slightly more mayo in the tuna salad and sesame taste, but nothing dipping it in some sauce won't fix. I'm telling y'all, this is the place to BE. I love how the portions are a little smaller and priced affordably too so you can order more things to try. This location is inside the Haven marketplace. Ordered the fish cake soup and Korean sausage. The girl who helped us was nice and the food came out within 10-15 min (came on a weekday). The fish cake soup had a great flavor and portion was pretty big - only thing is it came out ridiculously hot (almost like it was microwaved forever). The sausage has a nice chewy and bouncy texture. The bulgogi was especially dry without any sauce, while the pork cutlet was a little better with sauce but not by much. We skipped on paying the extra $0.50 for dipping sauces, not realizing how dry these would be without the sauce. I almost wished they just baked the sauce pricing into the gimbap and offered sauce choices for free, but then again, I'm not used to needing extra "sauce" to go with my gimbap. Other places I've been to balance enough oil/moistness in the gimbap so extra sauce isn't necessary. Not impressed enough with this place. read more
